Wonderful stay!

Stayed with my girlfriend and her two teenagers. Kathryn was very accommodating and set up the house so the kids each had their own rooms and bathrooms. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable and the views are fantastic. We visited all the iconic Malibu beaches and restaurants and had an amazing vacation!

Although we live just across town in LA, this house made me feel like I was transported somewhere far far away! Our favorite part were the outside spaces. Sweeping ocean views from early everywhere and the beautiful terraces were dreamy! The owners thought of everything – towel warmers, zen fountains, you name it! Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful villa with many wonderful amenities!

My family and I enjoyed the luxury villa. The views were wonderful and the sunset amazing. I enjoyed preparing a feast in the gourmet kitchen while my family enjoyed the views in the hammock and hot tub on the loggia!!! I would recommend it to anyone! Views! Views! Views!!!

Ideal week of relaxation and fun

This beautiful house was our home for a week - we had a great time exploring the Malibu/Ventura beaches and canyons, cooking delicious meals in the great kitchen, and enjoying the lovely garden. The view was gorgeous, the house ornate, friendly, luxury. Hosts Kathryn and Don were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay (thank you for the coffee machine!). Highly recommended. We hope to return soon.

Over the top fabulous!

The Villa is incredible - better than the photos show by far. We loved the spacious viewing decks and luxury and comfort of the home. We walked the beaches, hiked the amazing trails, soaked in the ocean view outdoor spa with outdoor shower all totally private. We enjoyed the wonderful restaurants closeby and Vintage market for delicious take out food plus several boutiques at the Trancas Shopping Center. The hosts are very helpful and friendly giving us the grand tour of the property at check in. We'll definitely vacation here again!

Fabulous Family Chateau Near Beach

If you love sunsets that lasts, huge kitchen and cozy/beautiful spaces - this is the place! This beautiful home was lovingly built and decorated with the owner’s special ‘finds’ from around the world. Unlike a typical VRBO, it is like being in a real home with hosts’s thoughtful amenities so we could enjoy our time relaxing in the garden, expansive deck or awesome family room. We spent Thanksgiving week here and cooked all meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Thank you Kathryn and Don for sharing your treasured home!

My Best Vacation Ever

My husband and I felt like we were at a European Villa! The amenities were top notch. From the ocean views to the spa outside our door. I couldn't believe the attention to detail, exquisite taste. The kitchen, appliances and tableware were from a magazine. It has everything I needed to prepare a gourmet meal including the spectacular views. We travel all over the world and this was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we've taken. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villa Bella Malibu. It truly is.

Beautiful Home but too far from everything

Beautiful views of the ocean. The only real down side was the distance to LA/major highways, the home is at the far end of the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and the traffic is horrendous. Even getting to grocery markets along PCH can take over 30 minutes. No walking distance trails for hiking and coffee shops.

We are 2 blocks from a major highway, 7 minutes from one grocery store and 10 minutes from another grocery store. There is a restaurant serving coffee a block from the house. These people didn't take advantage of our guest information which tells the locations of all the nearby conveniences. We are 2 blocks from hiking and biking trails. I don't understand this review as it is totally inaccurate.

An amazing house with some of the best views in Malibu!

Our family stayed at this house for 5 nights over Memorial Day Weekend. It is a spectacular home....beautifully decorated interior and landscaping, spacious and elegant accommodations, a gourmet kitchen, and 2 balconies with the most gorgeous views of the ocean and coast of Malibu. We were in town for a wedding with our 3 adult children. We spent every free evening at the house...there was no reason to leave the property! The owners, Katharine and Don, went out of their way to insure all of our needs were met.....including beach chairs and towels! We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend the property. Loved it!

Tuscan beauty by the sea

The house is an incredible European styled beauty that is equipped with anything you would need to enjoy time with family at the beach. The owners take great pride in not only the beautiful garden and grounds, but the incredibly appointed inside of the home had every luxury you could ever want and beautiful art and decor throughout. You can see this home has been painstakingly decorated with beautiful and interesting pieces from years of travel. We were greeted by the owner after driving for many hours with an infant from the Bay Area. While I admittedly was tired and not interested in the tour of the home and instruction on how to use everything, Kathryn made the experience friendly and interesting and I found it to be necessary in order to fully understand and enjoy all the amenities this home has to offer. Incredible views, close to everything with a relatively short drive, we found this gem to be exactly what we needed for a wonderful extended weekend with family. We would recommend to anyone looking for a well appointed home that is as incredible and enjoyable as the destination itself.

5 Stars Plus!

We had an amazing stay at Bella Villa! The property is stunning. Every room has a fantastic ocean view! The kitchen, the office, the master bedroom, the master bath, the second bedroom, the living room, etc. We especially loved the downstairs portico with the hanging vines and the tall palm trees in the distance that highlight the sweeping seascape. The Villa is located on a lovely, quiet cul de sac & close to a well stocked organic grocery store (Vintage Grocers). The detail and quality of the decor and home are top notch! It is very luxurious and designed for comfort and relaxation! The king bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The gardens were lovely; fragrant, sprinkled with flowers and butterflies, a bunny or two & the occasional green parrot - truly magical. When other family members were surfing the famous beach waves, I enjoyed staying on the property & soaking in the beauty & serenity of the Villa. Kathryn & Don were professional and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you for such a fantastic vacation! We will be back!

First of all I cant say enough good things about this property..Don was there to greet us and showed us everything about the house...sorry we didnt get to meet Kathryn.. There are so many luxury features I can only list a few: luxury bed linens, towel warmers, top of the line appliances including a Wolf range, jacuzzi on the terrace, steam shower, super size tv with every channel you can imagine and incredibly beautiful furnishings...but the best thing was the fantastic view of the Pacific..and it was immaculately clean (very important to me). I took my two daughters and we had so much fun exploring the Santa Monica countryside and the beaches of Malibu..this house was a perfect location..not too far away but also not crammed in the middle of beach houses with bad beaches. The beaches around this Villa are all beautiful.. Be sure to check out Point Dume..and I LOVED the Vintage Grocer which is about a 7 min drive.. Another thing I liked was the privacy. We loved how the house is nestled on the hillside surrounded by beautiful gardens and hedges, yet its close enough to have a view of the surf. I would definitely rent this house again and hope to go back. The only thing that would make my stay more enjoyable was if we could have a stayed a few more days.

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!!

VILLA BELLA MALIBU! What can I say? There was nothing like waking to the smell of jasmine when opening the balcony doors, or enjoying a hot cup of coffee on the upper OR lower balcony. Imagine humming birds and water fountains....fabulous vibrant blooms among the gardens...or a relaxing sunset, while sipping champagne in the outdoor spa. It was fabulous! My husband and I spent our anniversary in this amazing home. For five days we felt as though the ocean view was meant just for us. There are no words to describe the love and attention Kathryn and Don have put into this exquisite home. It is completely private, romantically furnished and sooooo peaceful. Everything you need is at your fingertips. From gourmet coffee,... to dvd's and good books,... to a fax machine and ample closet space...to water fountains and flameless candles...anything and everything you may need to have a relaxing stay, is right here! The pictures are beautiful, but you must see this home to believe it!!!!! Kathryn has the ability to surround you with rare treasures but make you feel completely at home and comfortable, at the same time. Every square inch of this home is decorated in grand taste as seen by the vibrant eyes of Ms. Kathryn. You will swear you are vacationing in an Italian villa. I have stayed in some luxurious places, but Bella Villa Malibu beats them all. Well worth it! DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS PROPERTY AND ALL IT HAS TO OFFER!! Thanks Kathryn and Don!! Short Getaway

The property was amazing, just as advertised. The managers were very accommodating and friendly. Beach access was right across the highway and very private. The villa was well maintained and very clean. Everything was in excellent working order and manager was very friendly and informative.

Building our Dream Villa was a real labor of love for us and we delight in sharing our magical Villa with simpatico guests.
