Not a beautiful condo

Was a disappointing rental. The room was shabby, stick on flooring was lifting, and was advertised as a 1 bedroom. It’s a studio with the bed in the kitchen. Air conditioner was so loud you can’t sit outside on the lanai while it’s running…which seemed to be all the time. I cou

Great spot

We had such a great time on or vacation. The place is clean and had everything we needed. The location is great and the views from the pool was fabulous. Highly recommend.

Great condo, great location and great response from the property management. This was a wonderful place to stay with all the amenities you could possibly need. The location was perfect for watching the sunset from the pool area and was within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are back on the island. Thank you for a great stay!

KONA Shores Pleasant accommodations

Quaint, quiet, modest efficiency place. Close to what we needed: 1 step, 2 step beach, shopping, and friends who live on island. Place had everything we needed. All communications with management were answered quickly.

Kona stay

We had a great time at Kona Shores unit 221. Very clean and convenient location about a mile from downtown Kona. The pool was awesome, right on the ocean and we had it to ourselves every day. A couple hundred yards away is a great breakfast / coffee shop called Green Flash. It’s an easy walk and we’ll worth it. Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. We would stay here again for sure!

Fun in the Sun at Kona Shores

Pool was right on the ocean with access to a lava rock cove we could sit on and watch the waves and spectacular sunsets. The king bed was comfy, but the pull out couch mattress was like many a pull out; uncomfortably thin and springy. Luckily they had an inflatable, double high queen mattress, but that’s where they lost a star. Extremely well located to the downtown, tourist central shops/resto’s strip, with beaches under 10 minutes away. Would go back for the sunsets alone!!

Disappointed!

Ac wall unit in the kitchen/bedroom. No AC in den where TV is. Bugs were a problem in the beginning. No bar soap for bathing. Sheets were horrible but they did bring by a new cheap set which was better than the worn cheap sheets. Really not what we were expecting. We did rent another room for one night near the volcano just to have a break. That place was amazing!

One week in Paradise at Kona Shores

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at the Kona Shores condos and loved the property and the proximity to Kona. The location is easily walking distance to Kona. The property is nice and well maintained. We never swim in the pools in Hawaii because why would you when you have the ocean? However, it's such a great view looking over the ocean that we had to! The unit has a comfortable bed and really had everything we needed. Also, the A/C unit was definitely appreciated as other units we have stayed in did not have. This is our 3rd time renting from Knutson & Associates and we have had nothing but good interactions with them. They are a professional company and definitely take good care of their customers. You will not be disappointed if you rent this place.

Perfect fit for our 18 day stay

We have stayed in Kona Shores before in another unit and, while the floor plan is the same, the room configuration is different. Instead of entering into the bedroom where the seating area is in the kitchen section, the furniture is reversed. It was not unpleasant to sleep in the kitchen area, since this is where the air conditioning is, so it is cooler and very comfortable to sleep. The mattress is good, too. There are four ceiling fans, those none on the screened in patio, which was just too warm to sit for any length of time. The kitchen had enough pots, pans and decent knives for our cooks needs, and I cooked every day. The bathroom shower was powerful and welcoming after a day at the beach. The condo had beach chairs, boogie boards, and snorkel equipment but we didn’t use them. The laundry is nearby and very clean. I never had to wait for a machine. The pool area was clean and at times, we were the only ones using the pool and lounge chairs. And what a view! We will be staying here again. Thank you to Knutson & Assoc. Property management and to Brad, on site manager, who is always working.

Overdue Maintenance Required

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I reached out to the property management company and let them know of the maintenance was required and they said that they are working on addressing the issues but I would rent this property only with extreme caution. To begin, it's falsely advertised, t is NOT a one bedroom - it is a studio. There was a broken faucet (that severely cut me) in the shower, missing window panes, cracked light fixtures, etc. that made our stay uncomfortable and disappointing. The photos of the property are not of its current condition and do not show that it's a studio; additionally, there was a printed message that looked fairly old stating that the property required maintenance and that the property managers were aware of the condition of the property (but why wasn't maintenance done?). Additionally, we found hair (not our color) and stains all over the apartment and linens which made us feel very uncomfortable with the cleanliness.

Great condo for a small family

This was a clean and cozy condo, well situated on Ali’i drive. It had everything we needed. The communication with the property manager was great - they were very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. The only surprise was the 49 damage insurance fee which was mentioned in the listing but not included in the quoted price. Overall a great experience at this accommodation.
