Clean, simple & walkable to all in-town Portland restaurants, venues & neighborhoods.
A 3rd floor walk up no frills apartment in a super convenient location, but think San Francisco in the 70's with transients on the streets at most times, but with a strong, caring police presence it is VERY SAFE.
This is a great choice for the budget minded short term stay within, despite all of it's challenges, a cool & vibrant community.

This stay was great! Check in was very straightforward and easy, and the location is great for walking around the city. It was definitely in an area with a lot of unhoused folks on the streets nearby, but they were very respectful and I never felt unsafe. Walk just a few blocks in any direction and you’re in a nicer area with restaurants and stores and such.Would definitely stay again.

Good place to stay in. Safe. However, it would be good to know about the steep and narrow spiral staircase, in case you have lots of heavy luggage.

Beds were very comfortable. Parking was a little difficult. 3rd floor was a little tough on my 83 year old mother. But it was clean and roomy and close to downtown shopping and touristy attractions.

Portland apartment

We just needed a place to stay for one night ,4 people that was a good price. This was and they explain it very accurately . Interesting neighborhood , we felt very safe.

No frills indeed. The area was very close to downtown, easy to walk everywhere. Unfortunately that did come with many unhoused people that seemed to camp out next to the property. Overall the area was good just didn’t feel as comfortable staying with lack of security cameras.

overnight getaway

Came to Portland for a show at Thompson's Point and this location was perfect. Classic Portland neighborhood and the building was charming and clean. We had no problem finding parking on the street. The description of the unhoused presence was accurate, but we never felt unsafe and this is not unlike any other city neighborhood. Would stay here again!

The property was mostly as described. This wasn’t what we were wanting for our whole stay and John and his team were very gracious in working with us when we had to modify the stay with short notice.

The Apt is very old but nice. Wasn’t aware of stairs as we were on the 3rd floor and had to go up very narrow stairs with no hand rails. The outdoors had bums sitting around and people across the street partying and coming up to us . Didn’t feel safe and would never have kids here. The place was nice to lay your head down but that’s it

Frills is an understatement

The frills of the neighborhood carried into the apartment. Floors and bathrooms seemed clean. Dishes and Keurig filthy - broken window a/c on floor. Broken chairs. No tlc for the property. Neighborhood beyond the stated description- would not recommend . Best to say is that rental car made it out with all windows and tires. Very disappointed

The property was just as described. It was clean and comfortable and within easy walking distance to shopping and dining. My family is not uncomfortable that there were un housed people in the area. We felt safe the entire time. If you have not spent time in an area where there is a homeless population I could see why you would be a little uncomfortable. Considering No Frills was in the title, we were pleasantly surprised. This property was easy to check out of and we left in a rush. The hosts are mailing back a souvenir that was left behind and my apologies to them if we left anything else behind in our rush. There was no laundry list of chores to do before we left which is always a plus. We would stay here again. The staircase is narrow and steep and parking was a little challenging but the hosts are very helpful regarding parking. If possible, unload first and then find a parking spot.
