Beautiful design with new and modern kitchen and living area. Clear check in instructions were given so it wasn’t a big hassle to check in. Good that we have a 4WD to drive up the slope as we arrive. However as we arrived, one of the room windows were opened and resulted in a few moths entering the house that freaked my children out. We have to spend some time to get rid of them before we can get on to bed. Dining was a pain. As the house can accommodate up to 4 people, but only 2 high chairs were given, one has to go to the couch, one standing and two sitting on the high chairs. But it is a luxury to have the dishwasher to do the dishes. The view right outside is beautiful as we wake up to Mountain view and a few rabbits. This is a little hut for short term stay for 4, or a longer stay for 2.

Kia ora! I’m Rhys, a long-time Airbnb host with over 8 years of experience welcoming guests to some of New Zealand’s most beautiful locations. While I’m based in Wellington, I also manage a peaceful getaway in Hawea Flat—a place that I absolutely love for its tranquillity, scenery, and connection to the land.

I’m passionate about travel, food, and helping people experience Aotearoa in a real and authentic way. I’ve travelled across Europe, Asia, and the Pacific, and what I enjoy most is creating spaces that feel like a home away from home. Whether you're looking for a nature retreat, a digital detox, or a quiet base to explore the South Island, I’m here to help you enjoy it fully.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Hawea Flat is a hidden gem tucked just outside Wānaka, and it offers one of the most peaceful, breathtaking landscapes in all of New Zealand. You’re surrounded by mountains, farmland, and wide open skies—it’s a place where time slows down, and nature takes centre stage.

This area because it captures the essence of what makes New Zealand special: unspoiled beauty, outdoor adventure, and a sense of space that’s becoming harder to find. Whether you’re heading to Lake Hāwea for a swim, hiking in the nearby hills, or simply sipping coffee while the sun rises over the mountains, Hawea Flat offers a kind of magic that’s hard to describe until you’re here.

この宿泊施設の特徴

This Hawea Flat property is all about peace, privacy, and nature. Set in a quiet rural setting, it's perfect for travellers looking to unwind and reconnect. You can enjoy the morning birdsong, spectacular sunsets, and star-filled skies at night—without any of the noise or hustle of city life. Yet, you’re just a short drive to Wānaka, so you’re never too far from good coffee, great food, and local attractions.

Guests often tell me they leave feeling rested, inspired, and recharged. The space itself is designed for comfort and calm, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Whether you’re here to hike, bike, kayak, or simply switch off and read a book, this is the kind of place where you can truly unplug. It’s not just accommodation—it’s an experience.
