You can reach your suite via the hotel lobby elevators and enjoy your spacious room with a comfortable king bed, tea and coffee facilities, and a TV with free to air. There is a kettle and minifridge, plus cutlery crockery for your takeaway meals - and you're spoiled for culinary choices being in the heart of the CBD! You can also enjoy the restaurant and bar on site, which is on the ground floor of the hotel.
With everything within walking distance, this suite is ideal for couples, solo travellers, or business guests looking for a convenient and welcoming Hobart base. PLEASE NOTE: whilst the suite is located within the Best Western Building it is not part of the Best Western, nor managed by them, and is managed privately. You can use the restaurant and bar on the ground level however you cannot charge anything back to your room and must pay at the time. There is car parking next door however it is paid parking and not included in the accommodation.

If someone were to ask, what does the perfect weekend in Hobart city look like? This is what I would tell you: arrive on Friday, check in to your wonderful accommodation, then eat at one of Tassie’s iconic restaurants (Dier Makr, Fico, Tia Ama, Aloft, Templo- remember to book in advance), followed by Hobart’s bar strip in mid-town (if you’re childless, of course).
When visiting in the summer, I would recommend attending Street Eats @ Franko (Franklin Square in CBD) on a Friday night – there are various food vans, live music, picnic rugs, and it is 100% child friendly, open 5pm-9pm.
On Saturday, I would rise early and take a leisurely stroll through the Salamanca markets, where I would get a takeaway coffee and sample all the doughnuts. After this, I would drive up to the top of Mt Wellington to be blown away. On the way down, I would stop for a drink and a bowl of hot chips at the Fern Tree Tavern. If the weather is not favourable for a mountain summit, then consider attending Bonorong wildlife sanctuary in Brighton- this is an animal rescue centre with up-close viewings of endangered native wildlife & guided educational tours (great fun for kids too!). There are also evening/night tours available, for the many nocturnal animals Tassie is home to.
On Sunday, I'll be heading down to the farmers market on Bathurst Street for baked goods and freshly pressed juice. Then, MONA is of course on the cards – I’d get the ferry from the waterfront, but there is also a bus option, or a carpark on site if you'd prefer to drive. Then, I would spend the rest of the day being weirded out by the museum’s eccentricities. And there’s your perfect weekend.
