Colorful Roseway Bungalow - a classic old Portland charmer!

Colorful & relaxing: your stay is sure to be pleasant in this easy, convenient, and charming Roseway neighborhood home. The 102-year-old house has two queen bedrooms on the main floor. The living room couch pulls out into a comfy bed, and an upstairs lounge area has a double futon and double bed. Mattresses are new, towels and sheets are high quality. The furnishings are fun, funky, and not fancy ~ but never compromising comfort. You'll enjoy a large kitchen with lots of countertops and storage space, a big fridge, and a 6-burner Viking cooktop. Within a 10-minute walk you'll find some great restaurants, but you might just want to stay in!

To note:
~Touchpad entry - no key necessary.
~The house is a nice size, much larger than your average two bedroom, because of upstairs “lounge.”
~Street parking is readily available and ask host if you need driveway parking, it's shared with neighbors.
~ There's no enclosed yard - pets must be on leash when outside.
Backyard is comfy and available for you to use - just know that it's not private. It's wide open to the driveway shared by the neighbors, and I'm also building a sweet mother-in-law cottage at the back/side of the property, unlikely to be disruptive and won't be in your vision (totally possible to ignore and not see/hear if you prefer.) The front yard and front porch are all yours to enjoy privately, but don't hesitate to use the open and in-process backyard too!

The Roseway bungalow was perfect for our 8 day stay in Portland! The home was clean, beautifully decorated, very well appointed, and had beautiful gardens. Michelle was an exceptional host and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. The neighborhood was also a joy; we walked every morning and enjoyed seeing the lovely gardens and friendly neighbors along the way.

Gorgeous home away from home

The decor all over was so fun. There was the perfect amount of space for three people, and we could have brought a couple more people over and still been just as comfortable. Great location and the owner is nearby if anything comes up! I would love to stay here again.

Perfect Portland Place

My family and I have been visiting Portland for the last 15 years or so in various locations throughout the city. the Roseway Bungalow is by far the best home away from home we have stayed in. First, it is a 12 minute straight shot from the airport and 25 minutes from the Columbia Gorge. The neighborhood offers a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, parks and shops to walk to within a few minutes. Myself, my daughter and granddaughter felt very safe in this neighborhood. Lastly, we loved the layout and design of the home. It gave us each our own space to relax and unwind from family and vacation events. We all loved the eclectic design and thought given to guest comfort. It was a great space to host our larger family that came over for meals and games (kids loved the supply of board games). The adults appreiciated the TV being upstairs where the kids could hang if they wanted to watch a movie. The outside is landscaped with areas to sit and relax, BBQ, or enjoy a meal. Michelle, the owner, was easy to communicate with and available via text. We definitely would use the Roseway Bungalow as our home base for Portland in the future.

Grad gift

This trip was for my daughter’s high school graduation and Michelle was awesome. Her home was perfect for us. The house was well equipped, comfortable and she checked in on us to make sure we were all set for our stay. Communication was prompt, clear and thoughtful. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it!

Beautiful home in beautiful neighborhood.

Michelle’s home was perfect for our family gathering in Portland. We have family that live nearby and Michelle’s home was well equipped and comfortable for us to host dinner and games. Beds are comfortable and decor is fun and compliments the vibe of the home. Michelle was an excellent host and very communicative. She has thought of everything!

Comfy and Homey!

Staying here really felt like you were staying at a home. Houseplants, fully stocked kitchen, thoughtful decor - it was clean, easy and comfortable. Michelle was a very attentive host, really making sure your stay was great. I’d rate this as one of the top VRBOs I’e stayed at. Really great!

Slice of Real Portland

I left Portland for a while and came back to stay here before I moved into my place and it so reminded me of what Portland is like--the arty decor I LOVED with all the plants and a very nice and environmentally conscious host! Very quiet neighborhood and great there is a grocery store nearby and easy access to a main road that leads everywhere. Street parking is tight during the day but can easily find a space out front after work hours. Absolutely would stay here again and so much better than a normal hotel! Thank you for the popcorn and wine treats!

Wonderful Home

The home is beautifully decorated, well appointed, comfortable and cozy. There’s plenty of room for a large group, but the two of us felt right at home. The owner is available and responsive without being at all intrusive. The location is wonderful with lots of restaurants and shopping in the neighborhood. And it is easy to get anywhere from here! We’ll definitely be back.

Visiting from New Zealand!

What a lovely stay we had at this charming vacation cottage. Michelle was an excellent host, full of information & has outstanding communication with us during our stay making sure we had everything we needed! Cozy place with comphy beds & nice hot shower! Fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed. Was so Nice to stay close to family we had in the immedate neighboorhood. We will be staying here again!!! Thank you Michelle!

Beautiful & Perfect

I have my favorite neighborhoods in Portland, but everything was booked. So, went outside my comfort zone and found this beautiful gem of a place, and so glad I did. It’s off a busy street, but as soon as you enter the neighborhood, it’s quiet, the homes are cute and funky, and the trees and gardens are gorgeous. The older craftsman home is warm and inviting, with a little bit of eclectic thrown in for good measure. Spotless, extremely clean…The beds were comfy, kitchen well stocked, heater was easy to operate and did I mention the lovely indoor plants? My daughter and I felt right at home and Michelle was a thoughtful and gracious host.

Happy Gathering for a Family Wedding

Our stay at the delightful bungalow was perfect for our family. Family Vacation in NE Portland

My family and I stayed at the Colorful Roseway Bungalow for 6 days in late July and early August. We have 2 kids ages 6 and 9 years old and a dog. The size of the house was perfect for us. The Colorful Roseway Bungalow is even cuter in person than in the online pictures. We enjoyed daily neighborhood walks with our dog. The location is great, close to the airport, but also with easy access by car to anywhere we wanted to go in Portland. The owner was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this house, especially if you want a local neighborhood feel to your vacation. We would definitely love to stay here again.

Nice property and having the owner downstairs makes it so convenient for any questions. She makes sure that you have everything you need for a wonderful stay. The house is conveniently situated and has everything you need.

Great bungalow and host

Our check-in was simple, and the owner lives downstairs but you have total privacy. Beautiful front porch and garden, chicken coop in the way back of the backyard. Very welcoming, comfortable beds, gorgeous bathroom, cute well-stocked kitchen. Nearby park by golf course is walkable. Located near Safeway and a great thrift store Rerun2 - there is some noise if you're outside as you're not far from a main street. Michelle was a terrific host and she made check-out so easy! Thanks for a great stay.

Rose festival and contemporary art biennial

The house was so charming and welcoming. The Rosewood bungalow was clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated. Our 7 year old twins loved the upstairs. The candy land game was kept going the whole time. Kitchen was spacious and well supplied. Beds comfortable. Garden and front porch and back yard shared table are lovely. I would stay here again.

Charming Home in Northeast Portland

This home is lovely and has everything you could need. It's very clean (important to me) and the owner, Michelle, lives downstairs and is very accessible if anything goes awry. (Although nothing went wrong during our stay). Michelle has chickens in the back and brought us fresh eggs upon our arrival. Safeway is within walking distance just down the street so we were able to easily get any groceries. The home is within walking distance of many stores and restaurants. There was a little issue with parking, but that shouldn't be a problem once they get the backyard completed. We enjoyed our stay and would book this home again.

Hi! I am so excited to have you stay in my sweet home. I've lived here for 12+ years, the most recent chunk of that time in the renovated apartment in the basement of the house. So I'll be nearby for questions or assistance, but definitely out of your way.
I'm from Alaska-- been there? Know people? Let's talk! It's my second favorite place, after Portland of course. My favorite Portland things are the restaurants and many varied eateries, vintage and thrift shopping, bookstores, cafes, parks, wineries, theatres, and shops. I'd love to make recommendations for you!

This century-old home is located in the Roseway District. It's a typical Portland bungalow full of color, charm and character, with just enough updates to make it truly relaxed and comfortable. You'll find everything you may need for staying in, or heading out. The bus-stop is across the street, along with a Safeway grocery store. Within one or two blocks are the sweetest little bakeries, a bagel shop, a wine shop, excellent Vietnamese food, a neopolitan pizza place, and a wonderful vintage/thrift shop. There's so much more within a few more blocks, including two amazing donut places, a golf-course, lovely parks, and food cart pods!
As for getting around - you'll be centrally located between the airport and Portland downtown, both so convenient. Heading to the Gorge or mountains is easy! Heading to the coast towns and beach? Easy again. You'll be staying in a quaint residential neighborhood but convenient and quick access to all that Portland has to offer.

One thing to note! The backyard is undergoing a landscape/cottage renovation this summer - it's out of the way and totally possible to not see or hear. The front porch and yard will be private and all yours, of course. Soon there will be a private deck for you and even more comfort. :)
