The Get-Away @ The Starkey House is a 2 bedroom semi-attached bungalow with a private entrance, hot tub, outdoor shower, bikes, fire pit, gas grill, fenced yard, outdoor games, king memory foam mattresses, well-appointed kitchen, laundry, open concept living/dining/kitchen, & so much more just steps from the Kerrville River Trail, the Guadalupe River & mere blocks from our Historic Downtown filled with coffee shops, cafes, & shopping.

The Get-Away is the front 1/2 of a 1950’s bungalow style home which is divided into two semi-attached private spaces(The Get-Away & The Tuck-Away) in almost a condo style fashion with double walls and soundproofing insulation. Each space feels like it’s own house with totally private entrances, privacy fenced outdoor spaces, and more. No spaces are shared.

Great Stay near the Guad!

We really appreciated having the Get Away for our week-long stay in Kerrville. As former residents of Kerrville the location worked great for us and the beds were really comfortable (thank you for having king beds!!!). Our dogs loved the freedom to get out in the yard and have some space to run around and explore.

Nice place, but had bad smell

This was a nice home. Good location, but unfortunately had a terrible cat smell when we walked in. The laundry room was almost impossible to go in. We had to buy a candle and kept it lit most of the time to ease the cat pee smell.

Adorable House and Excellent Amenities

We stayed here to celebrate my wife’s 29th birthday and as soon as we opened the door, you could tell it was meticulously maintained. The fresh smell, cleanliness, and coziness were perfect for our group. The hot tub was awesome and we really had a great time.

Perfect Property

The house was well equipped and very clean. The location is very convenient to do things in Kerrville. The hot tub was amazing and the beds super comfortable. The personalized touch from Keri for our occasion was thoughtful and very well received. Will book again.

Little Gem

Comfortable, cute and a well stocked kitchen, since we did cook. We enjoyed all the amnesties and was just yards away from walking trails on the river. Highly reccomend Starkey House

The best little place to stay in Kerrville

The owners of this property really thought of everything! The accommodations, the information listed about the property, amenities, and probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. This is a great place to stay!

Nice little get away

The stay went smoothly. The house was filled with little amenities and everything we needed. The welcome sign was a nice touch and we knew we were in the right spot. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable.

My wife and I loved the property! It was very cozy and comfortable and had all the amenities we could ever need! Check-in and check-out process was very simple. We also loved being so close to grocery stores and restaurants. This property was honestly perfect, and we just wish we could've stayed longer!

Hidden gem

My family and I (wife and 2 year old) stayed for just 1 night but we all wish we had more time to spend here. The house was so cool with a lot of activities provided by the host (washers, darts, hot tub, board games, TV, fire pit, etc). The kitchen was big and had everything you would need and the 2 rooms had very comfy king size beds. The bathroom was even awesome! They had a list of their favorite things to do in Kerrville posted on the wall and they did not disappoint. Probably the best thing about it was its location to all the best places in town. Especially the river trail. We walked there from the house and saw deer on the way and so many animals surrounded by beautiful scenery and great people. Our daughter absolutely loved it. Makes me want to live in Kerrville one day. (Gibsons was awesome too). The complimentary bottle of wine was the cherry on top. These are great hosts and its a great house to stay in. I hope to stay here again next time we are traveling.

Lovely House

My family stayed during camp pickup and it house was just perfect! Comfy beds and pillows, smartly decorated and super cozy. We didn’t get to use all the wonderful amenities but will be back!

Great little house

The house was great for two couples. We had a quick two night stay and the house had everything we needed. There are nice little touches from the host all around the house.

FROM YOUR HOSTS: We love our Hill Country Community and own a popular restaurant, wine & craft beer bar in Kerrville’s Historic Downtown District called Grape Juice. Locals refer to GJ as Kerrville’s Living Room because of the warmth and hospitality found inside, but we simply strive to be what we call “5-star in Flip Flops”. So come as you are, dress up or dress down, get outside your box to sip something new, and make sure to order the brussel sprouts. Reservations Are Strongly Encouraged.
