ALONG THE MYSTIC RIVER @ SEAPORT & AQUARIUM: 5 QUEEN BEDS 1 BUNK BED

We thank you for chosing to stay with us at our Mystic home. CLARIFICATION: Everything we provide is noted exactly on our listing description: including amenities, supplies, blankets, kitchen items, lack of a "functional" fireplace for guests. I am not sure of what particular suprise "extras" are expected or required for us to provide as hosts. We always encourage our guests to bring along any additional items (not provided at the home) that will satisfy their personal comforts during their trip. You arrived with 4 guests - there are 6 total beds with a blanket on them and one additional blanket in the linen closet. There were indeed a minimum of 7 blankets that could have been used when sitting out on the deck for your 4 guests. We only provide blankets/comforters for our beds. All beds are presented with fresh linens, two standard sized pillows/pillowcases, and thermal blanket or comforter. All beds are presented this way upon guest arrival. We do not provide specific outdoor deck blankets, as this is not a listed amenity. Perhaps a light jacket when sitting outside on the deck would have done the trick, or you could have brought a specific outdoor blanket of your liking. The kitchen is fully stocked for up to 10 guests with kitchen + cooking utensils, stainless pots/pans, silverware, skillets, coffee mugs, drink ware, plateware, etc. There are both glass and durable plastic drinking glasses + wine glasses. There are both Corelle plateware and durable plastic plateware. There is a microwave, stove/oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, kureig coffee maker, and teapot in the kitchen. It is a fully stocked kitchen of good quality items. We do not provide serving plates, as they are not a listed amenity. You were welcome to bring along serving plates of your particular liking. Yes, there is an aesthetic tiled fireplace in the living room (shown in photos), yet it is not listed as a functional amenity for guest usage. Guests managing open fires inside our home is a very important topic and not something we take haphazardly. There are also BIG CAPITAL LETTERS on our listing page and in our guest/house rules - "THE FIREPLACE IS NOT OPERABLE. DO NOT USE." We specifically state this to guest IN BOLD TYPE so there is no confusion, and also to avoid the possiblity of our house burning down. The physical fireplace itself (inside the home) is also labeled "THE FIREPLACE IS NOT OPERABLE. DO NOT USE." Another policy in BOLD LETTERS in our guest/house rules is NO OPEN/UNCONTROLLED FIRES OF ANY KIND. I do not know of many rental homes that offer fully functional wood burning fireplaces. We have never had this complaint in our 6 years of hosting this property. Much of your confusion with the home, amenities, and "extras" could have been resolved with a message prior to booking or during your trip. You had not even messaged us 1x from initial booking to end of trip. We would have been able to assist or clarify anything that you may have missed - but zero communications were made on your end. In particular, all of the specific items noted above PLUS checkout time of 10am (reinforced over 5x to guests) - in which you left the home/property considerably late. Unfortunately, you didn't seem to bother to care. Please do not rent to this guest or group.

Thank you for chosing to stay with us at our Mystic home. Although, your review is quite troubling. Certainly, our home is not listed as a waterfront property, nor do our pictures remotely display the home as a waterfront property. I am not sure where this disconnect is. Our pictures and home description are also a very clear and accurate depiction of the home, plus its specific location. Everything we provide at the home is noted EXACTLY on our listing page, including: location, amenities, AC/dehumidifyer unit styles operating instructions, bedroom and bed styles (certainly not poor quality). We specifically have designed an extremely detailed listing page/description of everything and anything possibly pertaining to the rental. This ensures full transparency to guests, and avoids any confusion. We would have been happy to assist with the operation of AC/dehumidifyer units, yet we never were informed of any concerns during your 4 week stay until this review. Yet, you did convienently omit in your review that your dog chewed up multiple pieces of wood furniture and bed frames. You also disregarded that your group of 5 had left the home a complete mess in absolute disarray, AND broke one of our bed frames which now all need repair/replacement. We will take your personal recommendations into consideration and make corrections where necessary. Yet, perhaps a home with whisper quiet central air and sleep number comfort mattresses would be better suited for you. Destroy somone elses property during your next trip. Safe travels.

We are glad to hear you and your group enjoyed your stay with us in Mystic. Thank you for the suggestions, yet we do indeed provide a comforter/thermal blanket for EVERY bed in the home. With a simple message to Utopia Mgmt, we would have been able to help you locate any additional comforter/thermal blankets stored in the upstairs linen closets or bedroom closets. We also provide table lamps in each of the three upstairs bedrooms, and 2 large standing lamps in the bottom floor bedroom. We are pleased to hear your group enjoyed their stay with us in Mystic. Our listing page clearly describes all of the items included at our home and in the kitchen. We do specifically notate that any "special request items" that are not included on our listing page, such as large bowls/platter for entertaining and blender, guests are welcome to bring their own. EACH of our 5 queen beds are equipped with a comforter/thermal blanket. We always encourage our guests to reach out to us with any questions or clarifications they may have. Utopia Mgmt would have been able to help locating these additional items in the upstairs linen closet. We are always a quick message away and will gladly assist promptly. Our response time is normally within minutes and a tech sent to the property within 30 min - 1 hr, if any additional items are requested or for simple repairs to be made. Outdoor furniture cushion upholstery does become weathered due to the outdoor elements. This does not make them unclean. We don't provide a screen door because they become easily damaged and AC/heat escapes the home when sliding glass porch doors are left open on hot summer days or on cold October nights.
