Newly renovated historic loft in downtown Birmingham

The Historic Bon Ton Hatter’s Building is on Birmingham’s main street in the heart of the city center and has been renovated recently. This spacious loft is approximately 1200 square feet and is conveniently located within walking distance or a short cab ride from dozens of restaurants, bars, theaters, Museums, art galleries, parks, concert halls, Top Golf, the new sports arena, the University of Alabama Birmingham, UAB Hospital and shopping. There is a full kitchen and comfortable living room with a raised seating area over-looking busy Twentieth Street. The central heating and air system and all the appliances are brand new. Hardwood floors that run throughout the space and the 13-foot ceilings provide a true loft experience. Giant 10-foot windows give stellar views of Birmingham’s beautiful historic buildings and skyline. If unavailable, there is a 3rd floor loft as well.

Items to note:
1. Cats or dogs are welcome, but there is a non-refundable $125 deposit per pet (only 2 allowed). There will be additional fees if there are issues.

2. A parking space for one vehicle is included in the nightly fee, but additional spaces are $10/night (this is what the owner of the lot charges us).

3. Ask us about discounts for staying longer than a week or a month!

4. This full floor condo is a walk-up unit, there is no elevator.

Loft apartment was well equipped. The bed and pillows were comfy, the kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, dishes etc. The apt was clean, bathroom had plenty of soft towels.

Noise level from motercycles and hip hop music was disturbug during the night. Windows need to be double glazed.Shower and tub very slippery. One person fell and hurt his knee. Handicap grab bars would have helped.Parking lot was great and very convenient. Kitchen was well stocked with equipted.

Concert weekend

The location was perfect for the four days we were in Birmingham. It was within walking distance to quite a few places we stopped at. Sitting by the big windows in the evening was very relaxing!! Overall it was a great place to stay!!!

Quaint and lovely stay

Just as advertised. We had a wonderful stay. My husband and I and our two kids ages 15 & 17. We came for a concert at the new Coca Cola Amphitheater. We enjoyed walking around downtown and exploring. Kitchen had everything we needed for meals and the special touches like bottled water and coffee that was provided were top notch. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful place - interesting architecture

Beautiful place with interesting architectural updates such as the old elevator repurposed as a walk in closet in the master bedroom. Very well stocked with everything you would need in the kitchen and bathrooms. Pretty paintings and local artists’ work. The reason for the 4 star rating on description was the stairs. They are steep and there are a lot of them. A handicapped person would not be able to access the unit. I have a bad hip and it was very difficult for me to climb them. The stairwell is well lit and there is a good railing but it was quite a shock when we entered from the street. To be fair when I asked the owner if there was an elevator he said no and we rented it anyway. Regarding the owner, Joey was great. Good communication and super friendly. Nice binder with tons of information about Birmingham. I would just make it very clear upfront that this unit is for able-bodied clients only. We don’t regret staying here and again, it’s truly a stylish, comfortable place. Thanks, Joey.

Perfect place

The property was good, clean and interesting and it was in a great location. The best part of the stay were they owners. They were extremely helpful and always available via cell phone. The book they created in the loft was especially helpful and we took some of their recommendations.

Awesome loft in downtown Birmingham Alabama

Very spacious and well furnished loft in the historic downtown Birmingham Alabama area. Convenient to shopping, restaurants, parks, etc! Parking is easy and landlord was very pleasant to work with!

Great location, great amenities, and comfortable

I'll just start this review by saying I have stayed in alot of VRBOs and other short-term rentals, and this may have been the best rental I have stayed in. Location was great...right downtown, near amazing restaurants, and within walking distance of B'ham's rail trail. I ran every morning from the apartment to the rail trail. The apartment is very clean and comfortable...in particular the bed and bed pillows. The apartment has many cool features (e.g., old elevator that is now a closet), soaker tub, and great windows facing the street. We had the windows open every day to bring in the breeze. Parking was easy and close. Don't hesitate to rent this place, you'll love it. Keep in mind that this is downtown B'ham, so like many downtowns, it's a bit loud. But next time I visit B'ham, I would hope this place is available to rent again.

High School Reunion

Four of us planned to travel to B'ham for our 50th High School Reunion. Our original plans fell through at the last minute and we found the loft just a few days before arriving. We really lucked out! The loft was more than we expected and Joey was responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!!!!

It was simply amazing! The owner actually met us at the property and was not only hospitable that offered information in regards to dining. The pictures do not do it justice! Everything was exactly as was described. It was immaculate and very comfortable! There are excellent establishments within walking distance to dine. I was concerned about safety issues, but it is a friendly environment and walking whether during the day or evening was not an issue at all! Would highly recommend this home!.

Wonderful Property

This is a well maintained loft in the heart of everything fun in downtown Birmingham. We were very comfortable here with three adults and Joey was quickly responsive to our questions. Would definitely stay here again if life ever brings us back to Birmingham!

Perfectly located city hideaway

In this charming and spacious apartment right in the middle of downtown Birmingham, we had a wonderful time. We walked to dinner at a lovely French restaurant right across the street and were comfortable after dinner to enjoy space to relax and spread out. Nice comfy beds too.

Lovely surprise

My friend and I entered this space and were awed by how cozy , comfortable and clean it was. It is well decorated with a nice view of downtown. The beds were comfortable, the living room comfy cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
