Cozy with great location

Apartment is in a great area close to restaurants, coffee shop, and parks. Stairs are steep & space is tight, but is clean & met our needs. Could use additional toilet paper, towels, blanket for winter months, & new bed pillows.

Nice enough, but place is small and in need of updating

Email communication with Glenn and personal check-in with Paulo were excellent. A nice set of photographs advertising this apartment made us choose this pace, expecting a bright, clean, comfortable space. In reality, the apartment is small and leaves little to be desired as it gives the overal impression of a worn out and "tired" place, including yellowing kitchen appliances . Walls are thin and you could hear neighbours coughing (sometimes at all hours of the night) walking upstairs etc. Bathroom is nice but extra small. Steps to the apartment are treacherous. On the other hand, we just needed a place to shower and sleep and this apartment is good value for the money and is well situated for exploring old Lisbon. You can certainly get nicer places Bairro Alto, but it will cost about double per night.

Great apt and area!

We have stayed here several times over 2 years and love the area, Barrio Alto, and the apt. It is small but fine for two on vacation. We will definitely stay here again. Our interaction with Paul, our greeter, was easy and fun. The resturants nearby are fabulous, especially Adego Dom Louis, Hollandese and Pao de Canela. We shall return! Perfect location

The apartment is located a short walk from restaurants, bars, and a beautiful park. Easy walk to public transportation, too. Glenn and his team were friendly and attentive. We’d definitely stay here again because it’s a great value. Loved the bed and the shower as well.

Petit appartement propre et calme, doté de tout le confort souhaitable. Réception agréable par le propriétaire, plusieurs échanges par mail pour s'enquérir de nos besoins. Juste une petite remarque : l'appartement est assez loin des transports en commun et oblige soit à marcher soit à prendre le taxi.

Sehr schönes kleines Arpartment.

Das Arpartment hat alles was benötigt wird und liegt für die Nähe zu Barrio Alto recht ruhig. Mehr als 2 Personen sollten jedoch nich in das Arpartment. Es ist recht eng, was auch für die Eingangstür gilt. Sehr gut sind die Betten und die Dusche. Klare Empfehlung ich würde wieder buchen. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt.

Nice and quiet.

I wish I could give this 4+ stars in the rating. The apartment was as advertised- clean and comfortable. You will sleep well in this quiet space with a comfortable bed. It isn’t much bigger than a hotel room and the shower is small. As with all European apartments the stairs are treacherous. The apartment is in a good neighborhood and much better than other areas of the Bario Alto with the bars and eateries. Glenn was great to work with and helpful from booking to check out. We’d book here again. Lisboa is a joy! Bom viagem!

Small, acceptable apartment

The apartment is small, but acceptable. The shower is fine, and so is the bed. The toilet might give some trouble for heavy people, for it is a bit narrow in the corner. The bed is also fine, and there is enough space to keep your things in the cupboard. The cups & saucers, plates, are OK, but unfortunately there were no beer glasses, just wine- and small softdrink glasses. In addition a few mugs would be nice. In general we had a pleasant stay, for the apartment is in the old part of Lisbon. We went downtown everywhere, on foot, and luckily we had perfect weather.

petit appartement très bien placé, au calme et au coeur de l'animation de lisboa.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans ce petit appartement. Très propre, une belle douche, une bonne literie. Nous avons pris tous nos repas à l'extérieur. Nous avons rencontré quelques problèmes de communication car nous choisissons de ne pas lire les mails en vacances. A notre arrivée juste un souci avec le numéro de téléphone, mais une voisine très agréable nous a vite aidé. Le jour du départ nous avons dû quitter avec notre valise sans savoir que nous pouvions bénéficier d'une consigne. C'est dommage. Sachant cela nous pourrions retourner dans cet appartement pour un prochain séjour. Nous le conseillons.

Appartement très petit mais bien situé.

L appartement est bien équipé et très propre mais vraiment très petit, surtout la salle de bain. Le numéro de téléphone indiqué sur Abritel pour joindre le propriétaire était son numéro aux USA, ce qui nous a posé un gros problème à notre arrivée. Sinon, nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette très belle ville.

Le top!!!!, Idéalement située, ce joli petit appartement à tous ce qu'il faut. Proche de toutes les commodités , le propriétaire est à l'écoute .dans un quartier très calme, descendre la rue , puis à droite, remonter jusqu'à la place, et vous tomberez sur un petit parc, avec un super resto.. réservation obligatoire, ( c'est blindé !!!), Et plus haut, toujour sur le Parc, le kiosque, top pour boire un verre, quand Ont à marcher toute la journée, et qu'on a pas envie de cuisiner à l'appartement ( super équipé ) un vrai moment de détente, les vacances quoi... Merci Glenn

Absolutely to our liking

This has been our second visit to the Secret Garden 1. We absolutely love the apartment; well appointed, in a charming neighbourhood and with great hosts. Both visits we have felt that we were close enough to the action, but far enough away for a good night’s sleep. Can’t say enough about the attentiveness of Glenn and Shana. We will be back.

magnifique

Avec ma fille nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse à Lisbonne. L' appartement est conforme à la description, il est très bien situé nous pouvons nous rendre dans l'Alfama à pied. La station de métro Rato est la plus proche et les bus sont faciles d'accès. Merci à Glenn pour ses bon conseils dès notre descente de l'avion pour le choix des taxis et ensuite pour faciliter notre séjour. C' est sans hésiter et avec plaisir que nous reviendrons dans cet appartement. Prévoir des bonnes chaussures car Lisbonne est très vallonné et les trottoirs sont pavés. Merci Glenn

Idéalement situé!

Appartement idéalement situé pour apprécier le vieux Lisbonne, décoré avec goût, bien fonctionnel. Vrai coup de coeur pour le petit balcon intime et verdoyant (l'été), qui invite à prendre les repas dehors! Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour à 2: merci à Glenn pour cet endroit sympathique, et pour sa disponiblité en cas de besoin....

Appartement fonctionnel et bonne géolocalisation pour découvrir Lisbonne

Indépendamment de la prestation de la location, nous avons connu un abus de pouvoir des autorités (société privée et/ou police municipale). En effet, malgré notre stationnement légal dans la traverse (rue de l'appartement) deux véhicules Français et seulement les immatriculations Françaises ont été verbalisés / bloqués avec un sabot sur la roue et libérés en échange d'un paiement/amende !!!! Dénonciation du voisinage au regard de places de stationnement non disponibles pour les "propriétaires" de la rue suite à des "chasseurs oisifs" qui veillent toute la journée cachés derrière leur fenêtre....

Un super petit appartement avec situation idéale

Appartement très bien équipé, une bonne communication avec Glenn le propriétaire, situation au coeur du Bairro Alto, un des quartiers historiques de Lisbonne, rue calme, accès facilité a tout, bref le "panard integral" pour découvrir a pied, velo ou scooter....nous recommandons ++. Parfait !

Séjour excellent ! Merci à Glenn et Shana pour leur disponibilité. Le Secret Garden 1 est parfaitement bien équipé même si l'isolation phonique peut-être un problème à long terme, le petit balcon est très appréciable. Nous avons adorer le quartier, vivant et calme la nuit. Toutes les infos citées sur les commentaires des autres voyageurs sont justes. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir en choisissant l'appartement du dernière étage.
