The best of all worlds awaits at this bright and sunny home in Bar Harbor, where you'll be an easy walk from the bustling heart of downtown yet just as close to the serene, quiet landscapes of Acadia National Park. This two-level home, which occupies one side of a duplex, is full of large windows that let in the light and comfortable furnishings that invite you in after a day spent hiking, kayaking, or riding your bike across the national park. The living room offers views of neighboring Glen Mary Park, while the kitchen is outfitted with plentiful cabinetry, every necessary appliance, and an attached dining room. Toss the day's clothes in the private washer/dryer, light the gas grill to get started on dinner, and take in the golden hour light outside on the deck.

What's nearby:
This home sits on the edge of Glen Mary Park in the southwest corner of Bar Harbor village, a location that's both away from the summer crowds yet delightfully convenient. The Village Green, a wide assortment of charming restaurants and shops, and the Bar Harbor Shore Path can all be found downtown, just half a mile northeast. Acadia National Park and the Park Loop Road are immediately south, with a stop for the free park shuttle just a 12-minute walk from the house (allowing you to avoid the hassles of driving and parking at Acadia's most famous landmarks).

Yellow rental in Bar Harbor

Great location to Bar Harbor and hiking to Cadillac Mountain. We were welcomed by ants and a few spiders. There were no curtains on 2 of the 3 bedrooms so we were awakened before 5am with the sunrise. Master bedroom walls were a mess. Clean.

Perfect location

Great location with just a short walk to the first streets and shops in Bar Harbor, but away from the hustle and bustle with easy access to get into Acadia National Park. Nice quiet hours made for a great place to get to bed early and up early for some hiking.

Very Disappointing Rental

This place is a dump and it's dirty. I compiled a long list of things wrong with this property but don't want my review to be too long, . My one star rating should tell the tale.

Cons: -No response from management about issues -Refrigerator had a bad leak -Wrong internet password provided. Great location but we had issues & no one ever called us back.

We really liked the location of the home. The issues we had: the refrigerator was leaking water all over our food inside of the fridge; my daughter’s bedroom window had no blind and no privacy curtain. The blind had been broken off and never replaced so no privacy; two bedrooms were very small; the mattresses were hard and caved in the center. As much as we paid for the property we expected better sleeping conditions and at least a returned call when we called about the leaking fridge and the other issues.

The only positive thing was the location. This property certificate shows ownership by College of the Atlantic. This is a dorm. The back door doesn’t even shut, so it doesn’t lock either. There’s a piece of wood to wedge within the frame so it can’t be opened, but there’s a gap that allows bugs in. We had carpenter ants - one that graciously awoke me in the morning crawling up my arm. The ceiling fan didn’t work in the queen bedroom. The air conditioners upstairs were impossible to work, so we had to open the windows for air to circulate, but most didn’t have screens, allowing moths and mosquitoes in the house too. There was a dirty wash cloth in the shower upon our arrival. Also a dirty sponge in the sink. No propane for grill. Wiring in living room lamps loose and lights flicker. It was filthy around baseboards, missing trim and toe kick by floor. There were tons of stickers and 3M products on all the walls. No locks on bedroom doors. Unidentified dried crusted stuff on carpet by baseboard heater.Vacasa is the sub-contracted management company. They were minimally responsive and did not resolve complaints to our satisfaction. I have escalated my concerns to VRBO, even emailing them video and photos. Yet to hear a response from them either. To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. AVOID THIS RENTAL IF YOU APPRECIATE DECENT ACCOMMODATIONS.

Dirty run down place

The moment you walk in so many things just jump out. Starting with the lamp in the living room plugged in with no shade and no bulb. Curtains hanging up one panel trying to cover the whole window. The bedrooms stains allover carpets. Tvs in every bedroom with no remotes. One of the tvs was in the closet not even plugged in. with a dresser shoved in the closet. They did send over a remote but could not get it to work. The bathroom shower liner was yellowing. The toilet brush next to it was brown and crusty looking. The tub did not drain properly. Told them about it they told be to plunge it saw no plunger. Beds were so uncomfortable.. they did send over after the third night stay with two new box springs. the guys who delivered them said the old box springs were busted. Not even sure the ones they brought in were new no new plastic covering on them when they took them off the truck. That was so much fun dealing with on my vacation. Found an old sock left from another guest. Gatoraid bottle underneath the bed. No shade in one bedroom. just one sheer curtain panel. Again one curtain panel is not even big enough to cover the whole window. Another lamp in bedroom this one had a bulb but no lamp shade on it The ceiling fan in bedroom glass light covering was in the closet. Hole all in the walls. Furniture was very old and scratched up. I need a supervisor to call me. I have pictures of this place and believe me it does not come close to what they are showing online.

Bar Harbor Home

We had never been to Bar Harbor previously and the best thing about this house is the fact that you can walk to Bar Harbor. Parking is extremely difficult in this very popular area and the home is a very short walk into the town which is a huge plus. The house is clean and the water pressure in the showers in excellent.

Good location- cheap house

This house was on the outskirts of Bar Harbor, a nice walk to town. It was a good size for our family of 4 and clean upon arrival. The reason for 3 stars is that it was so cheaply furnished and maintained. The refrigerator leaked horribly (and it took several days for the property manager to get back to us about it). The a/c was not adequate upstairs, but horrifically noisy. The beds were cheap and uncomfortable. One of the chairs had a broken leg, etc. On the positive side, the outdoor space was nice, the manage did bring new pots and knives (the ones there were unusable) and the price was reasonable for Bar Harbor.

The house was great and the location was perfect - easy walk to downtown and really accessible to Acadia. The only downside was the listing says the house has AC, and only the master bedroom actually has it. Normally, it wouldn’t be much of an issue, we just happened to be in Bar Harbor on a really hot week! Overall great experience though! Would definitely stay again.

Great place, terrific location- not only could we walk to town rather than deal with parking in Bar Harbor for dinner we also started a number of hikes from the house. We started our Champlain Mt and Cadillac & Dorr Mt hikes right from the front door.
