Spectacular oceanfront luxury villa Punta Martineau is at Martineau Beach Estates, the only gated community on Vieques Island. The home is privately situated on an oceanfront bluff overlooking the ocean and a private beach is just steps away. Elegantly appointed and fully equipped, Punta Martineau offers the privacy of a home with its own infinity pool and expansive grounds.
Vieques Beaches: Vieques Island offers pristine white sand beaches and crystal clear Caribbean water. The best beaches are located in protected areas of the Fish and Wildlife Refuge and Puerto Rico Park system and are not close to areas of accommodation, so you will want a rental car.
There are security cameras viewing the entry and pool.

Vacation in paradise

We had a wonderful stay! The house was perfect for our family—super clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The owners went above and beyond by providing thoughtful extras like beach chairs and coolers, which made our trip even more enjoyable. They were incredibly attentive and quick to help with any questions or issues during our stay. Highly recommend this rental for a stress-free and relaxing vacation!

Gorgeous getaway!

The view is beautiful as you walk into the house. You have spacious rooms. The property is well maintained and in a very secure location with guards walking in the area. Property management was delightful and accommodating. Karen helped with our needs during our stay. She was most welcoming. This will most definitely be our go to spot in Vieques for future vacations.

Great property & host, OUTSTANDING Property Manager

We have stayed at many VRBOs, both domestically and in various Caribbean locations, and never have we had a property manager who ensured that everything went well. Hannah met us at the airport and took us to the house for a super easy check in. She directed us to the best grocery store and others that had longer hours. She gave advice on restaurants, tour operators for bio bay & snorkeling, best beaches — literally everything that we wondered about. She was super responsive with zero concern for “office hours”!! Julie gave us insider info on how to get to VQS from SJU — don’t just assume that you can take the ferry with no advance preparation, and you must book a car well in advance of your arrival on VQS. Most importantly, she ensured that we work with Hannah beginning several days in advance of our arrival, to make sure that all details were handled. The house is very nice and comfortable — all appliances, internet, and a/c worked great (often not the case at island properties!). Very clean as well, and I am a clean freak!! Unbelievable view from the infinity pool!! No direct access to beach, but access to neighborhood’s private beach about 5 doors down was very manageable, and a good beach with good snorkeling!

Mixed review. I don't think I go back.

The property was not well maintained for the price range. There were issues with the plumbing, electrical, and A/C and the pool was too dirty to use by the end of the week. The outdoor furniture was in disrepair. The linens were clean and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The island and neighborhood are still run down from the hurricanes and the better restaurants were closing for the season. The silver lining was the beautiful beaches. The snorkeling and biobay tour were disappointing. The wild horses added a unique charm. The destination wedding we were attending at a neighboring villa was magical.

Family week

Family of 6 had a great time. Though property does not have a beach in the backyard (inaccessible cliffs), it was a great location to enjoy access to all the Vieques had to offer. Kitchen was decently stocked. It had a good amount of utensils and pots and pans but lacked larger serving bowls. The house did come with some good beach supplies such as umbrellas, coolers, goggles and plenty of beach towels. Overall, a very pleasant stay with beautiful views.

Hassle free, lovely, comfortable!

The location is beautiful, the place is clean with conveniences like washer and dryer and jet-tubs and a swimming pool and others you can see in the listing. One thing you don't see in the listing is pictures of the bathrooms, they're spacious with plentiful towels. Another thing you can't see in the listing is how amazingly comfortable the beds and pillows were. This is a major thing for us as most places really don't have great beds. Property manager was very friendly, responsive, and accomodating. Definitely recommend.

Amazing Vacation!

Too much great stuff to share! 5 plus stars from our initial request to rent the property to our return to the airport at the end of our stay. Julie was timely and responsive, and Hannah was absolutely wonderful! Responses were timely, informative, and helpful. Hannah offered recommendations to help make the most of our visit. The island was relaxing--you can golf cart everywhere! The beaches weren't crowded (though southern beaches had plenty of seaweed), restaurants had good food, and folks were so friendly! We went kayaking, snorkeling, and a couple of folks in our group did nothing at all. We had six total, one under age 10, and she swam every evening in the pool no matter how much other activity we did earlier. Midnight swimming in the house pool and sleeping outside under the stars were unforgettable moments. We played music and enjoyed the nights. We ate at the Tinbox (sushi and barbecue), Bili Restaurant (breakfast, lunch, and great smoothies), Mama Mia (pizza), D'Frozz (ice cream), and the Vieques Food Court, Rincon de Sabor. (Seafood, burgers, snack food and drinks). We visited the Conde de Mirasol fort and the Punta Mulas Lighthouse. As far as beaches, we went to Gringo Beach (El Gallito), Playa Negra (Black Sand Beach), Pata Prieta, Punta Arenas (Green Beach), Blue Beach, Secret Beach, and Bio Bay. A lot of the food is ferried over during the first part of the week so fresh fruits and veggies may be scarce on the weekend. There is a small fruits and veggies stand on Monday or Tuesday We seriously over-packed! You barely need clothes but have a few swimwear options.

Beautiful vacation!

I went on vacation for fun and 4 people stayed in this home. The manager was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. The house was beautiful, and loved the open floor plan. The outside BBQ/kitchen area was perfect for grilling at night. We explored the whole island and found this area and home to be in the best location and the neighborhood was very nice and safe. Thanks for everything! Definitely will be back! A+

VIP Villa in Vieques

We thoroughly enjoyed Punta Martineau for our small wedding ceremony. Our friends loved celebrating there with us too! We had plenty of room in the bathrooms, bedrooms and especially the great room. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors for mealtimes. A lot of great memories were established here. We would highly recommend. And Karen that manages the house is the absolute best!! We loved her. From our arrival time she was always in touch to make sure our check-in and check-out was a smooth transition - especially in dealing with the ferry schedules. Looking forward to going back next year!!

Amazing amazing amazing

We came down for our wedding. Two families stayed in this house. We had 4 kids with us. There was plenty of room for everyone. There's also room to entertain. The pool area with the the cooking area allows for that. The master suite upstairs was off the charts. The view was superlative. The pool was great for the kids. The only draw back is you may not want to leave! I've stayed at a lot of places and this is hands down the best. My 3 year old son cried for a full day about going back to the "orange house." (it's not orange) There are so many amazing things to say - I also don't think the pictures do it justice. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic place to relax

The home was very well maintained and the floor plan was excellent. We rented a Jeep (highly recommended) and explored the Island everyday eventually settling on a very private beach to return to each morning. This was our second trip to Vieques and we noticed that the high end food options had greatly increased. We will be back next year and will likely extend the trip to two weeks. Also, on the day you arrive have Bev prepare your food and buy your wine. It makes the unpacking very easy.

Top f the World!

This home is by far the most beautiful of all the homes we have rented on Vieques island! It is very comfortable and the rooms are extremely spacious with an en suite bathroom and patio off of each bedroom. The view is breathtaking, you can see the main island & Culebra. I felt very safe because of the location of the home, which is inside the property of The W hotel. There is security to get in and out. Another nice amenity to have is the use of the restaurants and spa of the The W resort. They are walking distance from the house. We hired a private chef ,referred by Julie, two of the nights and had an amazing meal and plenty of leftovers for the beach the next few days. This is a very comfortable home making our stay memorable and care free.

The property is even better than the photos!

The house is super luxurious and Karen who hosted us was so wonderful and thoughtful. The pool is deightful, the proximity to the W hotel is an added bonus but you never have to leave the house as it has everything anyone could ask for and more. Karen was even great enough to stock the fridge for us! It is a wonderful house. You can't go wrong staying there and thanks Karen!!!!!

Stunning

As others have stated, the pictures don't lie. This property is very well appointed and beautifully decorated.The panoramic oceanfront view from all 3 spacious bedrooms is breathtakingly beautiful. Upon our arrival, Karen, the property manager, was waiting at Maritza's Car rental. When the large Durango we had reserved was not available she helped arrange for 2 jeeps, for the same price. She was incredibly responsive and professional when we had an issue with one of the guest bedroom air conditioners, and a missing rollaway and made sure everything was resolved to our satisfaction. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return to this beautiful property.

Beautiful home, spectacular setting

The photos don't lie. This is a beautiful home, equipped with everything you need to have a lovely week in Vieques. And the setting is just spectacular--sit by the pool and what you'll see is a large expanse of sea, Puerto Rico to the west, Culebra to the east and, if you're lucky, St. Thomas. Breathtaking. The house has everything you need--wifi, good a/c, linens and towels, bug spray (which we didn't need when we were at the house because the breeze was keeping the bugs away), beach chairs and umbrella, gas grill, menus from local restaurants, basic toiletries. The rooms are comfortable and each room has its own bath and shower with a tub in which you can comfortably fit a couple of people. Karen, the property agent, was incredibly helpful and responsive. She was also invaluable in making recommendations. (I want her job.) Hope to be back to Punta Martineau someday.

Gorgeous!

We rented this for my daughter's wedding. Worked out perfect to have the wedding in the backyard . We had a tent for tables for reception. The pool landing was the dance floor. There is a built in bar which worked out perfectly.The villa was as beautiful as the pictures show. We had 7 people staying at the house and there was plenty of room for everyone and more. Each large bedroom has their own en suite and huge closets. The house had everything you can imagine, car seats for kids, pack and play, roll away bed. For beach trips, there were beach chairs and coolers as well. The pool was awesome, overlooking the ocean. The Wifi was a bit slow on our devices. I would highly recommend Punta Martineau!
