Poipu Beach Ohana house, called “Pua Hale” (Flower House), is an 850 sf one-bedroom private cottage and tropical garden completely enclosed by private walls and fence. Located on Kauai's sunny and warm Southern shore is an easy 10 min walk or slow 3 minute drive from sandy beaches, snorkeling, surfing, and beautiful sunsets. Often sea turtles and monk seals can be watched resting on the beach. Also within walking distance or short drive are many restaurants, shopping, and more.

Separated from the Main House by a front yard with Plumeria and Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees, Hibiscus Bush and your designated parking pad. The cottage is fully furnished including a Cal King bedroom, living room with a queen size sofa bed, private tropical garden patio with outdoor seating and Weber gas grill, complete kitchen, dining area, Japanese style “furo” shower/bath (note: these bath are spacious, but have difficult entry/exit and have hard tile corners inside and out and may not be suitable for all people), smart TV, cable, Wi-Fi, three celling fans, and central air conditioning. On the back of the house is located a laundry room with washer and dryer, beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and beach towels.

Loved our stay in this quaint Japanese-inspired house! A quick 10 minute walk to the beaches for swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, beautiful sunrise and sunset views, turtles, seals and tasty food. The kitchen was adequately equipped with all we needed and had an excellent blender. Having the laundry room available, beach goodies like towels, chairs and boogie boards, and also having air conditioning for some warmer evenings while we were there was so appreciated. The two cats that visit out on the patio are very sweet. Host was a good communicator and gave us plenty of privacy.

The check in instructions were easy to follow. The listing photos have to be at least 10 years old. The place does not look the same, specially the shower. The whole place had a layer of grime to the point the floor was slippery. It really felt like it had not been properly cleaned between multiple bookings. Towels not only smelled but were so old they were fraying. Window blinds had missing slats and it was specially annoying at night since the neighbors motion activated light was triggered by animals and would shine directly on my face. The sofa bed was so unacceptably uncomfortable our friend left early cause he couldn’t take anymore. The bathroom sink was so clogged we decided to just use the kitchen sink for most things. Overall we felt catfished, the place was unacceptably dirty and the host was pretty odd in the few interactions we had.In all fairness I didn’t mention any of this because we trying to relax and not deal with a stressful situation during our holiday.

Excellent! 100% would stay again!

Pua Hale was perfect for our travel needs! Andrew sent us very detailed and clear check in instructions and the property was accurately advertised, with all the amenities we needed, from a well-stocked kitchen, to the beach chairs/towels/boogie boards, the close proximity to the beach…and a sweet orange kitty (Bullet) who greeted us frequently as well as the geckos that hung around outside. We had a mishap were we accidentally broke a small hole in the carafe of the coffee maker while washing it, but Andrew brought us a back up carafe in a jiffy, which was very kind. I would definitely stay again at Pua Hale and would recommend to anyone! Mahalo Andrew!

Serene and lovely

Loved our stay. The accessory dwelling unit was just a couple blocks to the beach, bed was super comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and it was quiet, private, serene and surrounded by lovely landscaping to admire through the windows just as the listing pics show. It’s an older place, and a great value for the price. Plus the owners actually live in the neighboring house so you’re supporting local. The beach chairs, pool noodles, boogie boards and beach towels and laundry room were great to have available. I highly recommend it and would love to stay again some day.

Fantastic place!

Very clean and functional house with master bedroom with a Japanese flair paper sliding doors for privacy. Very private house with nice garden surround, outdoor private seating and grill. Laundry and garbage disposal! Wonderfully sweet owners! Highly recommend Pua Hale!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

It was clean, comfortable, and private. It was close to the beach, and had everything we needed to cook and hang out at the beach. Andrew was friendly and responded to our requests quickly. We'd stay there again.

Perfect stay near poipu

Our stay was perfect from start to finish! We really enjoyed how relaxing the house was and its proximity to the beach. Everything was super clean and exactly as advertised. We also loved seeing the cute little house lizards on the fence posts. Would definitely stay again!

Relaxing paradise!

Very private cottage surrounded by tropical plants and six foot high fence. 9 minute easy walk to poipu beach, puki dog, brennekes restaurant bar.Very affordable. Bed was comfortable. Would totally rent again.

New year trip

We had a great stay. Pua Hale had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The AC was a plus especially since many properties do not have this amenity. The location is centrally located to the beach and shops around town.

Very private older property that had everything we needed. Kitchen was well equipped but needed maintence and could have been cleaner. Easy straight shot walk to the beach. Great location.

Property is ok. Some minor maintenance on the property would be great. The front gate does not open like it should and sliding glass doors and screens are hard to open. The slats the hold up the mattress have sagged so when you lay in bed your head is lower than the rest of your body, even with pillows.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful 10 day stay at Pua Hale. This home has everything you need to be very comfortable. The host family were amazing. Location was in excellent proximity to Poipu beach and the beautiful southside of Kauai (our favorite). We have found our home away from home!

Great Cottage in Paradise

We had a wonderful week stay in this classic, comfortable cottage an easy 20 minute walk from gorgeous Poipu Beach. Everything was as described and pictured. The owner was responsive and helpful in all respects. The cottage sits on his property, but feels completely private and self-contained. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect getaway

Andrew was a really attentive and friendly host! Lots of privacy, but there if you had questions. The place was exactly as advertised and unlike some rentals, the bbq was actually in good shape and had gas. Would/will definitely stay here again.

Refreshing place in quiet location

We enjoyed being able to come back here and feel away from the crowds while still being close to many things. Very well designed space. You might even get lucky and have a couple cute cats come visit you on the patio in the evenings.
