Overlook Hideaway

Welcome to Overlook Hideaway. Our home is located on a beautiful, quiet ONE WAY street. This is a private, upstairs 2bd/1ba apartment above our home, located in the beautiful neighborhood of Overlook Park. The space is furnished with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay in Portland, including AC/Heating. We are near some amazing restaurants and shops in neighborhoods like Alberta Arts District, Killingsworth Street, St. Johns and Mississippi Avenue. It's a 10 minute drive across the bridge to beautiful downtown Portland and we're also a short 8 minute drive to MODA Center if you're attending any kind of event.

Univ Portland Graduation Weekend

This house is so cute & comfortable - exactly as pictured. We stayed her for the weekend of graduation festivities at UP and the home was surprisingly close to campus! The neighborhood is very walkable, quiet and safe. We'll definitely be back! Thank you!

Best vacation rental we’ve ever had.

We’ve booked quite a few vacation rentals, and while they were all acceptable, this one knocked it out of the park. We’ve found our “go to” place when traveling to Portland.The amount of thought that went into creating this space is evident everywhere you look, from having everything you need (and things you might need, and things you probably don’t need but someone might), to more ephemeral aspects like good placement of light switches, plenty of outlets, and flooring that feels good under your feet. I really can’t imagine how this place could have been more perfect for us.The beds were comfortable, and having two separate bedrooms (that were truly separate, not split by a curtain or something) was excellent. And the second bedroom didn’t have bunk beds or some half-baked idea of a futon on a frame, it’s a proper queen-sized bed. The main bedroom (king bed) was large, with plenty of storage space, seating, and a door to a private deck.The bathroom is very nicely remodeled, with plenty of water pressure and hot water that didn’t run out. Laundry in the unit was a bonus because I forgot to pack some things and had to do laundry for a three-night stay (note to self: pack better next time). As I mentioned, everything we needed was there, the check-out asks weren’t onerous (put used towels in the bathtub, take out the garbage; that was all), and the host was gracious about us wanting to check out an hour later than the 10:00 a.m. standard (teens are hard to get going).

The property managers were so awesome and thoughtful during our whole stay. It was a great base for house hunting in the area!

Views for days and morning coffee on the deck

Just the nicest place- second time here and I’ll be back. Comfortable beds, nice decor. Well stocked kitchen and modern appliances. A bottle of wine and some coffee/ creamer/sugar to get started always appreciated! Great neighborhood for walking and once I found the pedestrian bridge - coffee, bars and restaurants just a 10 minute walk away! Great communication.

Cozy place with everything we needed

We stayed over Christmas to be close to family. The kitchen was well equipped and bedrooms were cozy. We would love to visit again.

Peaceful retreat

My sister and I greatly appreciated the convenient location and especially the quiet and serenity of the apartment and the neighborhood. I especially enjoyed the cozy nook with the high desk and adjoining window and the small balcony off my bedroom with a commanding view of the harbor. My sister's room also had a great view, and we both loved the entry way deck for morning tea in the sunshine. We are both grateful to have found this wonderful spot!

Great Location

The property is in a great location for getting everywhere you want to go. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. That’s all you need as far as I am concerned.

Wonderful

Absolutely loved this place. It was exactly like the description and communication with the host was excellent. My favorite part was the deck. I enjoyed spending time out there and watching the squirrels.

Great weekend spot for a family trip

My husband our teen daughters stayed here for a long weekend and a great location, prompt responses from the host and nicely furnished and stocked place. Comfortable beds and pillows too!

Great location…incredible view!

Such a clean, cozy and comfortable place to stay! The beds were wonderful and the apartment had everything we needed…even a first aid kit for my accident-prone son. The owners were great at communicating with us to ensure we were comfortable. We also felt safe in the neighborhood, which was a big worry of mine coming to Portland.

this place made our trip the best!

We enjoyed this beautiful house with a view. We had everything we needed to feel relaxed and comfortable. The location was so convenient for us to move between downtown Portland, Gresham and Vancouver, WA. Lots of great food options close by. We would definitely stay here again.

Getaway

My family recently stayed at this location after visiting me and they had a wonderful time! They were very happy with the fully stocked kitchen, which included a full fridge, making it easy for them to prepare meals just like at home. They enjoyed starting their days with coffee on the lovely outside balcony, where it was peaceful! The neighborhood was a highlight, especially during porch fest. Beautifully adorned with fruit trees, it was not only scenic but also had a welcoming atmosphere, thanks to the friendly neighbors. The air conditioning was much appreciated on hot days, and the beds were noted to be extremely comfortable, contributing to a restful stay. Although I didn’t stay myself, this is the feedback I received. I did communicate with the hosts and appreciate their great communication and flexibility. My family highly recommends this charming place for a comfortable and engaging escape!

Great stay

What a beautifully created space and a very accommodating host! Thank you Stephanie for making the stay so great! Check in was easy, you were flexible and gave us everything and more to make our stay great! It was a very hot weekend in Portland and the house was cool and refreshing when we arrived. My cousins staying with us needed to do a load of laundry and you had laundry soap and dryer sheets there. It was just perfect! We would absolutely stay here again!

Overlook park is the perfect walking neighborhood, day or night and we're just a short walk from The Bluffs where you can take some snacks and drinks to go watch the sunset.

BRING AN UMBRELLA IF IT'S DURING RAINY SEASON, although we do have some in the unit to borrow
