Private Oasis near El Zonte = Atami Tropical Retreat!

Atami Tropical Retreat is the closest house inside a gated community to El Zonte & El Palmercito beaches. It sits inside 1000 square meters of tropical forest, the green hillside and ocean breezes keeping it cool all day long. A sparking pool is at the heart of the villa. Other amenities include a brand new full kitchen and two decks to lounge out on.

Atami Tropical Retreat is not a beach front property, but you get secure private grounds with private pool all just 900m walk or drive from playa La Leona - Atami’s private beach. Playa Palmarcito is nearby as well, and you have free access to the saltwater pools there. Atami club with a daypass fee.

The property was renovated and updated Spring 2025. with tons of new exterior lights & fans, comfy outdoor lounge space, sparking pool w/lights and clean, well-lit stairs & pathways between different sections of the property.

Full exterior kitchen with brand new appliances and grill, spacious outdoor dining for up to 12.

All 3 bedrooms have AC units, private bathroom and new comfortable beds.

Fast dedicated WIFI does up to 50mb/s

Atami Tropical Retreat is a recently renovated rancho style home at the beach in the tropics. Nature, animals & insects can and probably will be present during your stay.

The kitchen is detached from the main house where the three bedrooms pool & the open living room area are located.

There are stairs on the property. 16 steps lead from the garage to the main house area. Another 9 smaller steps to the Kitchen. The path is clean clear and illuminated, note that there are no handrails.

There is no hot water.

Events like rain, earthquakes & power outages do happen in El Salvador and are out of our control.

Each room has its own bathroom which made it convenient for our stay. There were enough beds and towels. It’s a really quiet neighborhood and local neighbors are really kind. There’s a small tiendita nearby with fresh coconut water, it was so convenient.

Enjoyable Stay

Great location, centrally located between El Zonte and El Tunco. The pool, hammocks and overall layout was ideal for enjoying time on the property.

Beautiful private oasis

Our stay at this magnificent property was wonderful. We love that it was a gated community with security, the pool was clean and lovely when needed to cool off. The rooms all had A/C and worked perfectly. The property overall had alot vegetation and friut trees makong this a lovely place to wake up in and spend our night.

Caretaker on property was prompt in responding to questions or request made. Beds could use an upgrade. We did have plumbing issues in 1 bedroom, but there was 2 other full bathrooms to use in lieu. More lighting would have also been useful when walking upstairs. I can’t stress enough that having working AC units in each room what the best.

Great place to stay.

Overall we had a great time and experience in this property. Everything was good and the owner was very quick to respond to any of my questions. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely keep this property in mind for future trips. It was lots of and many places near by to go.
