The property was very clean but in need of some TLC. The pellet stove would not ignite and a couple other minor repairs were needed. We did enjoy our stay.

Great stay

This cabin is amazing! The location is great, it is beautiful outside and inside! We had a group of 2 couples, 1 adult, and 2 dogs and had way too much space! This cabin is very spread out and has everything you could need for your stay!

Wonderful location

We had a fantastic stay at Aspen Creek. My favorite was star gazing from the hot tub! Kids loved exploring at the stream. Only thing we missed was shampoo in bathrooms and oil in kitchen - take your own.

The house was very clean and filled with everything needed to call this place “home” for a week! The fenced in yard is what sold us, but the short walk to the creek was an added bonus! There were so many hikes around for our 9 month old pups, who loved their first of many vacations! The stars gave us a beautiful sight every evening and early morning while the cool mountain breeze filled our lungs. We loved the location and nearby food! Oh, and the changing Aspens, surrounding mountains, and wildlife .. just WOW!!

Beautiful Location!

Beautiful location! The property was super clean, and quiet. Great location for local mountain biking & hiking. Also right down the road from the hot springs. Property management company was wonderful to work with, and very responsive! For sure, a do again!

Great stay in the Chalk Valley

This was my second stay at this property. As before, the house was very clean and the location is unbeatable. Nice path in the woods back to Chalk Creek.

Stayed at Aspen Creek with three other couples and we had an awesome weekend!

Very easy to rent. Management was very thorough on check in and check out. Fully stocked kitchen and plenty of clean linens and towels. Directions were sent via email and very precise. Enjoyed our stay and will be back

Love this location

This was our second time staying here and it was just a good and the first time. The location and coziness of the house is perfect. It could use a good deep cleaning but it wasn’t anything terrible. Mainly just noticed the cleanliness of the floors. Will be back again hopefully sooner than later!

Booked 10 nights, left after 5 due to cumulative cleanliness and maintenance issues. The setting is beautiful, about 20 minutes from Buena Vista, with a nearby walking path to a small river. Unfortunately, the property itself did not meet expectations.THE GOOD• Beautiful, peaceful setting and nearby river access• Fenced area for dogs• Management did respond to some initial concerns & sent someone to vacuum the furnitureTHE ISSUES• Sofas/sectional were covered in long dog hair upon arrival• Multiple window screens were missing/damaged, & gaps around screen doors allowed bugs inside• No A/C was disclosed, missing screens made opening windows created “A Bugs Life”• Washing machine repeatedly malfunctioned• Multiple electrical outlets did not work• Hot tub had visible film and an unpleasant odor• Mattresses appeared old/stained• Hot water ran out after approximately 2 consecutive showers• Iron holder mounted in laundry room, inquiry lead to rude response. • Dog area had no grass; pine needles, small cones and fresh sap became embedded in our dogs’ paws & required extensive cleaning. Both developed paw irritation afterwardAfter initially reporting several problems, we stopped spending our limited family vacation time reporting each new issue & instead searched for another rental. We were fortunate to find one for 6 & checked out 5 nights early.No refund was provided for the unused nights. The cleaning fee was refunded after extensive follow up with VRBO.

Nathrop property is a vacay and an experience rolled into one.

5 days, total of 7 adults and doggo. Plenty of space. Perfect fenced in backyard for dog. Best stocked short term rental (kitchen, linens, laundry) we’ve ever had. A few inconsequentials such as a few light bulbs burnt out and one door lock sticking but didn’t effect our stay in the least. Some reviews said negative about the hot tub but we had no problems and enjoyed it daily.

Superb location

The house is in a stand of Aspen's with a small, fast running section of Chalk Creek behind it (overgrown but mostly accessible - too fast to fish when we were there), Mountains behind the property and the Chalk Cliffs directly across the road in front. You won't find a more picturesque location. It's a short 20-25 minute drive into Buena Vista but it's a beautiful drive and the town feels close. There is however a small convenience store near the Mt Princeton Hot Springs Resort minutes away. Be aware the springs are very commercial and busy, we didn't bother. A local said the closest natural hot springs are 2.5 hours and an eight mile hike away so don't come for that. There are also gorgeous fishing lakes full of trout a short drive on either side of the property (Alpine Lake is private). The house & beds were comfortable, there were a few things is disrepair but nothing that was a deal breaker. The hot tub was very nice but we did struggle with the controls at first (there were no instructions). We were five adults (42-58 years in age) and overall, loved the property & location and would stay here again.

I think the local you spoke to was keeping secrets about hot springs. We have 3 other hot springs within 60-90 min of where you stayed. Cottonwood Hot Springs is in Buena Vista Area. thankfully the property was beautiful, clean & easily accessible as described by host. there were many items left broken listed below:the lid to the coffee pot barely stays on .the dishwasher door falls openthe right wooden knob to the closet in the master bedroom comes off when used.the screen door to the sliding glass door falls offa decorative garden knome in the fenced area of the yard was smashedthe fence had several holes in it where our dog could get out.the entire upstairs was roped off deneying us access. the only other thing i would recommend mentioning in the ad is that there is no air conditioning. i know that is common in colorado. (but us from out of state are not used to it).

Beautiful location

This was a large house with for a family gathering. It is in beautiful location, large windows that look out over aspens and meadow. We had a wonderful time, there was room for everyone, very close to Mount Princeton. We enjoyed the hot tub on the property. It just needs a little bit of maintenance.

A spacious and quiet cabin in the trees

We most enjoyed the spaciousness of the cabin, hot tub, and proximity to Salida for mountain biking and Mt. Princeton's hot spring resort. We were given plenty of towels, clean bedding and extra pillows and blankets. The kitchen was fully equipt. This property is not privately owned but by a rental group, however, they were still easy to reach and were good about checking in with us during our stay to see if we needed anything,which we really appreciated. There were a few things that would have been nice to have but it was not a big deal at all- hangers in the closet, a luggage rack for the bedroom without a closet, and cleaning products especially for the floors.
