Ginger Thomas Villa in Cruz Bay

Amazing views of Cruz Bay and St Thomas, conveniently located near town with access to the ferry, shopping, grocery, and restaurants. Expansive outdoor living and pool to cool off in the evening after a day at the beach. Beautiful sunsets over the Caribbean toward St Thomas.

Ginger Thomas is built on two levels with a king size bedroom and full bathroom on each floor. Ginger Thomas has spectacular unobstructed views of the Caribbean waters and neighboring islands, the town of Cruz Bay and the mountains of St. John. It is located on Pocket Money Lane, a private cul-de-sac. The town of Cruz Bay and the ferry dock are .4 miles from the villa. We suggest renting a vehicle to see the island and enjoy town and the beaches.

As you arrive at Ginger Thomas, the lush landscaping welcomes you to your home away from home. The main floor living room is furnished with a queen sleeper sofa and two comfortable chairs. The gourmet kitchen has granite countertops and two bar stools. The main living area leads you through an expansive 18-foot-wide sliding pocket door that opens to the large outdoor living space. A portion of the living space is a covered veranda with a comfortable wicker couch, dining table and a Weber gas grill for your convenience while you enjoy the spectacular sunset with boats sailing in the distance across the Caribbean waters. The other portion of the outdoor living space is uncovered and includes chaise lounges in the sun and a beautiful splash pool on the deck.

On the lower level, via an exterior staircase, French doors lead you to a suite with A/C and a king size bed. The room has a full bath suite and a mini fridge, Smart TV and DVD player.

There is a house generator for any power outages that might occur on island. There is a 50-inch flat screen satellite TV in the living room as well as the lower level. There is also a collection of games and books.

We also provide trash service twice a week. There is no trash removal on St John. Normally all trash must be brought to the local dumpsters on the island.

The property has many amenities such as Starlink Wi-Fi, which is extremely high-speed and always available, Bluetooth speakers, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, UV water purification system, Smart TV's, dishwasher, washer/dryer and A/C in the bedrooms. There is a walking path through the garden around the property.

We found everything clean, working, and very well equipped. Just can’t beat the view, and having the private pool made it even better. The separate bedroom downstairs suited our needs perfectly.

Pure perfection

This villa is perfect for anyone looking for a tropical getaway and relaxation. The setup is perfect for those traveling with teens or two sets of adults as the second bedroom - which is set up like a king sized hotel room - is only accessible by going outside and down the stairs. There are many houses close by so safety wasn’t a concern and the property has gorgeous vegetation. The pool is very small, but we were grateful to have it after long days at the beach. You could walk to the villa from the ferry, but the road to get to it is very steep. The hosts provided everything when it came to the essentials, which was very much appreciated.

Great house for small group

This house is perfect for 2 couples that want to be close to Cruz Bay. The views are spectacular. The rooms are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The pool is on the small side, but we spent most of our time at the beaches.The owners quickly replied to questions and made sure our check in was easy.We would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect Location

Great place in Cruz bay and less than a mile from all attractions. Communication was great and it fits a family of 4 perfectly. Would highly suggest.

Location, location, location!

We had a fabulous week at the ginger thomas villa! The location of this VRBO is spectacular, close to the bay, grocery stores, and the main town area, we also appreciated being so high up! The views were just gorgeous for the entire week. We also loved the access to snorkeling gear, beach umbrellas, and so much more my 1.5 year old also had a great time here, and we left behind some beach toys for future families. Highly recommend this house if you’re searching for a place to stay in the area!

Steps from paradise

Close to park entrance and town, very clean, nicely appointed kitchen and Comfortable beds. It was super cute and the sunset views were amazing. I’d rent this property again and recommend it. Hosts were responsive right away when I messaged them. 6 of us stayed for 4 days, it was slightly small for all of us, but with the outside patio, the living area doubles, and we werent there most until late every night so it wasn’t an issue for us. Overall this was an excellent house!!!!!

Great view & the downstairs bedroom sweet is great

We really like staying here & Karen & Dan were very accommodating. TV everywhere in the Virgin Islands can be hit or Miss. We were not planning on watching much tv, but twice during our 2 week trip we took complete rest days to watch football & graze in pizza & wings. They recorded all the games for us that we watched live when the recording started.The patio pool was great

Perfect

We enjoyed our stay at Ginger Thomas villa! My family of 4 arrived on Christmas Day (kids ages 17 and 21). It was our first time visiting St. John and we know we will return. The listing of the villa is accurate. The location was quiet but close enough to walk to town. You may detest the walk back up the hill but yes, it is doable. We enjoyed eating out but did cook at the villa one night. The views are just perfect from the patio while grilling out. Communication with Karen and Dan was wonderful. I will recommend this villa to others.

Ginger Thomas Villa Excellent!!

We loved our stay at Ginger Thomas. We were two couples and the layout was great for hanging out by the pool or cooking meals in the kitchen then retreating to our own private sleeping areas. View of Cruz Bay was fabulous. Owners and property managers were great with communication and everything went smoothly. Look forward to staying there again when back in St John.

This home is ion the perfect spot for Cruz Bay shopping and dining and the beaches! Great communication with the property manager and owners. Great view and overall a great home! Highly recommend this home.

Most wonderful home on the island

No need to look further...this is it, reserve this lovely Villa for your stay in St. John and your family will love you een more. Our family of 4 had the most amazing time in St. John and this lovely home made our experience extra special. The home is in the most convenient location ( 5 minutes into town and the start of Northshore Road ) and is super clean and offers the stunning view over Cruz Bay. Kitchen is well equipped and haing AC in both bedrooms were such a bonus. The private pool was great, my teenagers took advantage of it almost every afternoon. The owner is very responsive to any inquiries and very pleasant to deal with. So glad I found this sanctuary and can't wait to return to STJ soon. book it now and thank me later !

Wonderful beautiful home!!!

From the second we arrived we felt at home! The views were captivating. The pool was so refreshing from our long day of travel. The snacks were an added bonus and the water cooler was awesome!! The house felt so clean and inviting but I have to give 5 stars to the beds!!! We have never stayed anywhere that we were so comfortable and felt like we were in our bed at home! Even though there is no ac in the living rooms the fans and breeze kept us at a perfect temperature and the bedrooms stayed cold all night with the ac! We will definitely come back to stay!

Oustanding Property!!

The house was clean, stocked with everything we needed to cook and relax, view overlooking St Thomas and Cruz Bay was astonishing and the SUNSETS were second to none! We all talked about how comfortable and fluffy the beds and bedding were throughout our whole stay, it was a main topic of conversation :) My sister even took pictures of the bedding labels and bought the same for her house at home. A/C in the bedrooms was a savior for us and kept us quite comfy as well. For clarification, these are 2 separate living quarters- 1 with the full kitchen and living area that goes out to the pool, and the other studio downstairs with a separate entrance and its own bathroom and shower. The pool was clean and refreshing with views from every corner. We grilled each night and everything worked perfectly. Would definitely recommend this property for your vacation in St. John!

Spectacular

The owners did not disappoint! They thought of everything you would need. The additional bedroom downstairs was a private-convent-PREFECT space for 2 couples! From beach towels to spices to coffee to yoga mats to binoculars -JUST WOW! Even though the kitchen didn’t have air conditioning-it stayed cool thanks for providing FANS! The sun comes down hard and they have shades that pull down on patio just wonderful. Hey PORCH SWING too. Grilling in evening was great treat. WE WILL RETURN! Just FABULOUS-trash service right out the doors. Thank you. What a great vacation.

The location is great. The outside areas and bathrooms are really nice and comfortable. I think there must be a space reason for the dishwasher which is somewhat weird in that the plates are too big for the washer. We lived outside and that was great--great views, swing and everything. Also great is the generator that the house has. We lost power in a storm and our house remained lit up and we could finish making dinner. I would definitely recommend this place.

Best Porch Swing Ever

The pictures in the listing tell it all. The view is really that beautiful. Our family of 4 lived in the outdoor living area by the pool. It was perfect for reading a book in the morning. It was shady or sunny, depending on your pleasure, after a day of snorkeling at the many, wonderful beaches. It was also an incredible setting for twilight discussions with the family about the stars, the clouds, the islands and everything in between...and/or a nice game of Yahtzee. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and our teenage daughter loved the privacy of the suite downstairs. The hosts were superb in every way. St. John and the USVI National Park is a treasure, and I hope to do the exact same trip, including Ginger Thomas, again and again.

Dan and I fell in love with St John on our first trip in Aug 2017. On the third day of vacation, we looked at each other and said "We must come back here as soon as we can" and then we asked ourselves "Do you think we could live here?" Hurricanes Irma and Maria hit soon after that and we fell even more in love after witnessing the tight knit community come together to recover and help one another. We knew this was our home and where we belonged.
