Great Condo

We got there at night and the view overlooking Banner Elk was awesome with the town all lite up. Walked inside and was not disappointed. There were some updates that have been made since the pictures. Highly recommend this little gem. Was an easy 5 min walk to town if you don’t mind the walk back up. We did Thanksgiving in the condo with 5 people and enjoyed it so much already taking about next year. Had a few questions and they were answered immediately. Defiantly keeping this as a favorite place to stay.

Condo under renovations

Property seemed to be under construction. Drop cords connecting appliances, no bars in bathroom for towels, “master” bedroom had no closet or any dressers for clothes, Furniture was mismatched, some nice, some looked like reclaimed college items. Only one bedroom had a closet and it was partially filled with excess stuff. Other closet was full of mismatch stuff. The third “bedroom” with bunk beds had no curtain or anything covering tte window. Living room curtains did not cover those windows. So a remarkable lack of privacy provided. The coffee maker had a cracked pot, so could not be used. We had an ant invasion in the sink the second day. The place was clean though and seems it could be a good rental if it continues to be upgraded.

Terrible Stay

This could have been a good little condo close to the ski resorts, but it was NOT. There were no towels in the condor when we arrived and despite my calling Vacasa (the management company) twice and letting them know we needed towels, they did not come until the night of our second day. By then I had gone to purchase towels, because we need to take showers. And unfortunately, the condo had multiple issues. The hot water heater was leaking, the dishwasher did not work, the washing machine did not work AND it had standing water in it, one of the steps on the latter to the bunk bed was broken, the shower in the master bedroom would not get hot water (barely luke warm) and the condo did not have basic utencils such as a knife to cut bread. And no one from the management company ever came by to see to any of our issues, despite the fact that I called them multiple times and emailed them. I would not recommend this condo or this vacation rental company.

Bad experience !!!

- when we arrive the property was not ready (garbage bags inside from previous tenants, towels and bed sheets on the floor, super dirty) - after “clean up” floor was still super dirty, dirty stains on bedsheets. Dust on beds, previous tenants garbage still left outside the front door. Garbage was never picked up, it was left outside and wild life came and spread all the garbage on the front door of property. I called 6 times about it and no one came to pick up during my 5 nights stay. - broken dishwasher, never came to fix - broken washer with water inside. Never came to fix or empty the dirty water. - I called 6 times about all these things with promise of a call back from Vacasa and I never got a call back. I always had to call to follow up. Horrible experience. I wish I can show pictures..

Never again

This was the most disappointing stay we have experienced. PLEASE READ OTHER REVIEWS FOR THIS PROPERTY. There was so much wrong with the property, starting with the listing. All bedrooms were shown as having either queen or king beds, but when we arrived we found the third bedroom had bunk beds only and there was no curtain over the window that faced the road. The kitchen was very poorly stocked, lacking even a cutting board. The dishwasher was not bolted in place and was hooked up to a drop cord, which is surely a fire code violation. All the windows were screwed closed, surely another fire code violation. There were spider webs in the shower in the main bathroom, which did not have a door. We called the guest services number who told us to expect a text about our communication, but no-one ever called back. There was an issue with the keyless entry - it did not work when we returned to the condo that night. Another call to guest services eventually gave us a number to the top key box at the front door, which did not contain a key. The second key box had a key. Again, guest services promised that someone would be there the next day to address the issue of the missing curtain and to reset the keyless entry and again we were to expect communication by phone. No-one came to address the issue and no-one communicated with us - ever. Had I read the previous reviews, I would not have made the booking. Several issue have apparently been there since the property was listed.
