Irish Channel Home - Quiet, Safe & Fun!

Our historic Irish Channel home has everything you would look for during your stay in New Orleans. Located just over 2 miles to the French Quarter, it is close to all you want to experience in New Orleans but also quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. The Irish Channel is a dynamic neighborhood full of beautiful architecture, award-winning restaurants and unique shopping.

The space
The space you are renting is part of a double home - we (the owners) live on the other side of the home and there is a shared wall. The apartment has it's own separate entrance from the owners unit, and has a perfect living room and open fully stocked kitchen downstairs, with the two bedrooms upstairs. The full bath has a stand up shower (no tub), and it and the half bath are both located downstairs. There is an AppleTV, Roku, and guests are welcome to sign into their personal streaming platforms. There is no traditional cable TV but there is very strong internet. There are pretty steep stairs to get up to the apartment as this is a historic New Orleans raised basement home. Guests should be able to physically climb stairs if they are going to be renting our space. Our home is family friendly and kids are welcome! There is no full tub, but a baby tub can be provided and used in the stand up shower with the hand washer. For older children who can stand you can easily use the hand sprayer to bathe them. A pack n play can be provided as well as sit me up seat and a swing.

Property was as described. Good location to get around NOLA. The host commented on the stairs. He is correct. Very steep. Not easy for night time bathroom runs, as bathrooms are on 1st floor.

Nice little place.

Nice location. Communication with the owners was great! Chair and sofa are a bit dated, but we greatly enjoyed our stay and would choose this location again.

Good

The place is good. Further north/away from the river toward magazine street gets nicer. Right along the river and the Walmart right there is pretty industrial, so you’ll want to stay north. The neighborhood that direction is great. The place has good AC and is comfortable. No washing machine, no dishwasher, 1.5 bathrooms right next to each other downstairs that open onto the living area (one of them has a fan). Plates and glasses are provided. The bedroom curtains don’t block much light, so light pours in with sunrise. Coffee is about 10/15 min walk away, and there are great places on magazine street really close.

Perfect location

Great location for everything we had to do on our trip; close to where I had to be (NAS) and close to all the fun for my fiancé and her family. Host was communicative and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again the next time we are in town. Clean, safe, cute decor, and had everything we needed.

Great owners

Cute place with charm and character. Great sandwich shop Turkey and the Wolf is just a few blocks away and Magazine Street felt very walkable. The house has 2 bedrooms upstairs, 1.5 bathrooms downstairs, and a comfortable living room/small kitchen area. Very clean. Owners were very responsible and incredibly easy to work with. (Way different -and better- than dealing with the companies like Sonder, etc.) we enjoyed our stay!

Very nice place with great host

Carter was great with communication. He responded to any questions very quickly and we even had the pleasure of meeting him and his family. The apartment was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen met our needs. Having an extra half bathroom was very convenient. I would stay here again if available.

Perfect Stay!!!

This was the perfect stay for our weekend in NOLA. The house was nice and quaint. We were close to all major attractions and areas in the city and we felt completely safe and comfortable at all times. I would certainly recommend staying here.

Great NOLA location and space

My husband and I had a busy week in NOLA and this unit was great -- close to coffee, restaurants and attractions, quiet neighborhood at night (except for train whistles), plenty of parking, solid wifi. The listing says the unit has a washer and dryer, but that doesn't appear to be true, unless we missed them somehow; otherwise, it's as shown and described. Very responsive owner. Recommended without qualification.

Perfect spot for us

We stayed in this unit for 7 nights during Mardi Gras season, and it was the perfect location for us - so convenient for uptown, downtown, Magazine street, and the parades. Its in a very quiet, safe part of town. The unit was spotless when we arrived, the beds are very comfortable, and all amenities we needed were right there for us. Highly recommend, and will try to stay again.

Cute, Clean, and Convenient

Cool place in an up-and-coming neighborhood. Everything was clean and all the basics were available. Both bedrooms had comfy beds and the additional half-bath came in handy. Close to local restaurants, shops, and downtown. Overall a great place to call home for a few days.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Irish Channel home. Great location and very quiet. The communication with the host was outstanding.The host was also readily available throughout my stay, promptly addressing any questions or concerns I had. The accommodation itself was simply fantastic. The listing accurately portrayed the property, and upon arrival, I was greeted with a clean and beautifully furnished space. Every detail was well thought out, from the comfortable bed and cozy living area to the fully equipped kitchen that allowed me to prepare meals at my convenience and top-notch reliable Wi-Fi service and very comfortable beds. The Irish channel district is an amazing place to stay full of culture and with an easy walking distance to the Saint Charles Street car which can get you anywhere you need to go! It’s also super close to the garden district and is a very short Uber drive into the French quarter! Our hosts were so accommodating, and the house is absolutely full of charm and super awesome! I would recommend to anyone wanting to be near the city, but staying away from the hustle and bustle and safe to walk around even at night! This is your spot!
