We stayed at Karl and Monika's apartment for three nights over Christmas, and we had a fantastic time. Traveling with small kids, we decided to stay outside the busy downtown area, and this location was perfect. It’s a short 10-minute drive to the Garden District, 15 minutes to downtown or City Park, and 30 minutes to Jean Lafitte National Park. The neighborhood is excellent, with good coffee shops, an ice cream shop, a grocery store, and restaurants all within walking distance. Freret Street comes alive in the evenings with a vibrant atmosphere—lively but not overwhelming like Bourbon Street. It’s also just a short walk to St. Charles, where we enjoyed taking the streetcars to downtown. The mansions along St. Charles were stunning, especially lit up with Christmas lights. There’s a small park just a block away that my kids absolutely loved. The neighborhood feels safe for walking around. While driving further north on Napoleon, the area looked a bit less inviting, but there wasn’t any reason for us to venture there. The apartment itself was very spacious, comfortably accommodating all six of us, including two small children. Although we didn’t cook, the kitchen was well-equipped with everything we might have needed. Monika, our host, was incredibly kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Check-in and out was very easy.We had such a positive experience and would definitely choose to stay here again on a future visit!
