Fantastic third floor oceanview condo that is owner managed and non-smoking. Our third floor condo (D Building) is very comfortable and is tastefully decorated. It offers wonderful views of the blue Pacific and the island of Molokai.

It boasts a 50" Smart TV in the living room as well as an HDTV in the bedroom. This unit comes with everything you need including a fully-equipped kitchen, a Keurig Coffee Brewing System, a Mr Coffee pot, new kitchen appliances, newly tiled shower, washer and dryer suite, in-room safe, binoculars, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, a Pack 'n Play, etc. Enjoy the tropical breezes and Maui sunsets while relaxing on your private lanai. Maui doesn't get any better than this!

The beautiful Papakea Resort is located on the ocean (short walk to the beach, restaurants, and shopping) in the Kaanapali area of Maui. This property has wonderful, expansive tropical gardens and ponds. The amenities include 2 pools, 2 Jacuzzis, lighted tennis courts, 2 shuffleboards, 2 putting greens, 12 gas BBQ's, picnic areas, free WiFi access, free local calls and a concierge who can arrange island activities: luaus, whale watching tours in season, sailing, snorkeling trips, golf, biking down the volcano, and so much more! There is a large grocery store across the street as well as other convenient businesses. Several fine dining and casual restaurants within walking distance. The old Whaling town of Lahaina is only a 10-minute drive to lots of nightlife, restaurants, shopping, and more.

Look forward to lounging by the pool, cooling off in a cabana and leisurely strolling by the Koi ponds or take advantage of our many onsite activities including tennis and shuffleboard. Papakea Resort offers swimmercise, Yoga, and Yogalates during the morning hours when available.

The rental process was seamless, and the property manager was both prompt and friendly for any questions we had. We had a wonderful time and the views were amazing!

Communication with owner is excellent.

Texted the owner about an ironing board and a new one was delivered immediately. Great view from the lanai. Papakea is a great resort.

A whale of a time!

Great location, good variety of things to do on the grounds-putting green, pickleball, tennis, shuffleboard and more. No need to book a whale watching trip, we saw multiple whales breaching right from the shore! Condo was clean and comfortable, but in need of some updating. Communication with owner very good.

Caught in the Middle

Our stay was a little disappointing in that the original owner sold to someone else and they changed out the furniture. The bed was comfortable, but the only sitting available was a small IKEA type hard leather bench like setup. If you are a larger person, only one could fit on this "couch". Not near enough comfortable sitting available. NOTE: There is no hair dryer either. New owner was very responsive, and we both got caught in the middle of a reservation. Everything else was fine.. The outside seating was comfortable and the view was great.

Love the papakea! This unit is not up to par….

I’ve stayed at the Papakea nearly 25 times… It is a wonderful property and I will absolutely return. This particular unit however leaves a lot to desire. When we arrived, the dishwasher was broken with signage indicating such, but we were never notified by the property manager. The coffee maker was hit and miss as far as being able to be used… And many of the kitchen drawers would simply pull straight out and fall on the floor. Regarding check-in, I was sent the original email check in information but despite multiple texts and emails with follow up questions, never heard back from the property owner. When we arrived, The bed was completely unmade with sheets and towels nowhere to be found… The cleaning lady came back about 15 minutes later And said she wasn’t quite done, despite the front desk telling us that the room was set. It is quite outdated with many broken items. I would not recommend this unit to other travelers. In all of my visits, the worst unit I have stayed at at the Papakea .

What a View of a Tropical Paradise. So Peaceful!

The pictures are true. What you see is what you get. This location has the perfect view of the ocean with the garden. It is so beautiful. With the sound of the running water and the tropical birds, it sounds as if you are in a jungle. Rent this for the view and experience. No resort party noises-just the sound of a tropical paradise. The facility had almost everything one would need down to the binoculars to see the whales (our treat for our first night's stay in mid-March). The condo was clean. There is a gnat problem due the humidity and pond nearby, and several were dead on the floor in the bedroom, but at least the pest control worked and there were no other bugs. My husband complained the shower was a bit small for a big person. The futon bed worked out fine for my grown son. All sheets and pillows were provided. The kitchen had a Kpod, a regular coffee maker, and all the appliances you would ever need tucked away in the cupboards. We arrived to find chocolate treats and ground Maui coffee. The washer/dryer worked. Inside is not super upgraded. However, the condo appears to have new flooring, new bath tile, fixtures, and paint with granite bathroom counters and 80s style tiled kitchen counters. It looks like a DYO refresh, but clean and acceptable. Nice size for three adults. The bath came with shampoos, soaps and bath gels, blow dryer, but I recommend bringing your own supplies. The bedroom had a comfortable king bed, cubby-style chest of drawers, closet, iron and board. All sorts of outdoor amenities provided. Slider was difficult to open, and we used it often to go to the balcany, our favorite spot in the condo. Never a need or want and the grocery is nearby. Only five to ten minutes from Whaler's Village. There is a grassy area with lounge chairs to up against the ocean. However, there is a beach wall. You can walk down stairs straight into the water, but you'll have to go elsewhere for a beach. No crowding. Resort activities are available. Only complaint was the check in and check out times on VRBO were wrong, so plan for that. Actuals were in at 4 and out by 10. I'll be back!

Great casual space

This is a great location if you are looking to have ocean views, a pool, beach, and not be in the hub of Kanapali. We enjoyed the space and views during our trip. You are just too far to walk into whalers village but Ubers are plentiful. Check in was a little disappointing because we were told early check in was likely and it ended up being 30 min after the listed time (so late rather than even on time). But we were able to use the pool and beach in the meantime. The back bedroom stays much warmer than the front where the AC unit is so plan to sleep with the door open + fan on to stay cool enough. We appreciated that the outdoor table has higher chairs so your view isn’t blocked by the railing. Overall great space.
