Southside Serenity: Alaskan VRBO Hideaway with a Hot Tub!

I am a Professional Structural Engineer who has lived and worked in Anchorage since 2005, providing the structural design for buildings throughout the state. I am an avid outdoorsman and love to ski, hike, bike, fish, and hunt. I am happy to provide recommendations for things to do and places to see for your stay. My family and I lived in this home for almost 15 years, and we loved living there. In 2018, we had our second daughter and my wife's mother came to permanently live with us, so we simply needed a bigger house. We put a lot of time, money, energy, and love into this property though, so we didn't want to part with it. We completely remodeled the upstairs, removing the fireplace we never used, tearing down the wall that separated the kitchen from the living room, remodeling the kitchen with solid-surface countertops, and punching a new door into the wall for access directly into the back yard. We built a back deck to accommodate this new door and provide steps down to the yard, we replaced the fence around the back yard, and we added a hot tub on a wooden platform. We also replaced all of the flooring in the house, with the porcelain tile in the bathrooms, kitchen, and entryway being laid by me personally.

I love that I can hold onto this home that has so many happy memories and offer it to you as a fitting base-of-operations for your visit to Anchorage / Alaska! There is no shortage of interesting things to do or see around here, but you may find yourself content just sitting and relaxing at our Ocean View Townhome :)
