The Cliffhanger House is truly an architectural feat. Perched on the edge of a cliff, this modern and luxurious beach house overlooks a private sandy beach and out to the mouth of St. Margaret’s Bay, then open ocean. On a clear day you can look down from the decks and see fish swimming in the crystal clear water, or sea kelp swaying with the current. If you’re really lucky you might even see a whale chasing after schools of herring or mackerel.
Inside the Cliffhanger House - The main floor consists of a large open concept living room, dining area, entertainment area and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary tools to prepare a gourmet meal. On the main floor there are also two bedrooms (one queen bed and one double), a large full bathroom, and a laundry room with washer and dryer. A recent addition to this level is a spacious TV room with a comfy sectional couch. Large windows wrap the back and sides of the house so that the stunning views can be enjoyed from all angles. On those cooler evenings, curl up in front of the beach stone fireplace and relax to the sounds of a crackling fire and the rolling ocean waves.
Upstairs is the spacious main bedroom with a king sized bed, walkout patio, enjoying what could very well be the best views in the whole of St. Margaret’s Bay. This bedroom also boasts a huge walk-in closet with a laundry chute, as well as an ensuite bathroom with shower.
The Beach - The private beach, known locally as “Anne Murray’s Beach” is shared by the occupants of only one other home, the Beach Lodge, which sits on an adjoining property. The sandy beach is protected, and perfect for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and beach combing. And just around the corner, only a few minutes walk down the road, is Paddy’s Head, widely considered to be one of the best scuba diving sites in Nova Scotia.
This property is only minutes drive from the famous rocks of Peggy's Cove. Tantallon, the nearest shopping area is a 20 minute drive away and has all the amenities. Halifax is a 45 minute drive away.
