Kona Oasis #1

Wake up in paradise in your two bedroom two bath ocean view condo with spacious 214 sq ft lanai. Privacy is enhanced by a lush greenbelt outside of this ground floor garden unit, with fruit trees, tropical birds, flowers, and friendly geckos in the garden. Enjoy Kona's world famous sunsets each night from the master bedroom, while dining on the private lanai or from the shared salt water pool & grill area. Tucked away at the end of a quiet cul de sac, yet conveniently close to all the shopping, dining, entertainment, and professional services that Kailua-Kona has to offer.

Master bedroom faces the lanai and features an ocean view from the king size bed with private bath ensuite. If you need to get a few things done, the master features a full workstation and the wifi is more than capable of working from home with video calls. The 2nd bedroom with a queen bed opens up to garden views with the 2nd bathroom next door. Both rooms have brand memory foam mattresses & pillows. The living room features a queen size pull out sofa with extra sheets & pillows in the closet.

Enjoy streaming your favorite shows on the 65" smart tv after long days exploring the island. The master bedroom has high power A/C that can cool all rooms when outside doors remain closed. A/C is also rarely used as natural breezes + ceiling fans in each room circulate cool air through screen doors in each room.

Enjoy cooking in the fully updated kitchen with all the tools you'll need to cook that special family dinner or the local fish you bought at Kona fish market. Kitchen has been beautifully upgraded with bamboo cabinets, marble countertops & stainless steel appliances. Ease of care tile floors are found throughout the unit. Both bathrooms have been remodeled with shower over tub installations. You have a washer/dryer in unit, and drying rack on lanai for bathing suits & towels. Some snorkel gear sets, life jackets, cooler, beach chairs & towels in the closet to save you on rentals! Not to mention, a Pack n' Play for infants.

There is a dedicated parking stall and additional free street parking for additional vehicles. The condo is on a hill & a split-level building with parking in the "basement". This first floor unit can be reached through one flight of stairs from the parking area, or with no stairs using the gentle sloping sidewalk through the garden setting. You can temporarily pull up directly in front of the unit at the end of cul de sac to easily unload luggage, stroller, groceries, or those who cannot walk up stairs, then park the car in the dedicated spot to avoid 1 flight of stairs.

Great location and view.

Great location to easily reach many areas of the island. Close to Kona restaurants and shops. Really liked the provided cooler, beach chairs, snorkel gear, boogie boards etc. Good amount of space for a family of 5. We had a great vacation.

Lovely little condo

The property was nice, great lanai that was just a few steps to the pool. Any maintenance issues we had during the rental the property management company was extremely quick to respond and get them resolved. Location of the rental was also great, 10 minutes from Alii drive with great restaurants and shopping.

Sunset views off the lanai and a nice pool and BBQ area too. Suite is well provisioned with kitchen essentials and beach gear. Beds were comfortable, big screen smart TV was a plus. Great communication by the property manager, no issues at all during the stay.

kona condo

great location. very close to town and the beaches. very clean. good communication with the host. good supply of beach items so that you don't have to rent them during your stay. the only issue i had with the stay was with the ac. unit does have ac. however it is 1 window unit in the master bedroom. other than that, our stay was great and I would stay in the location again and would recommend it to family and friends

The view was gorgeous from the master bedroom and the lanai. The lovely gardens next to our lanai and comfortable outdoor furniture encouraged us to spend a lot of time outdoors! Our grandkids loved the easy access to the pool and we always had the pool to ourselves! We loved our trips to the many beaches and having a place to rinse off before entering the house was great. The location of the condo was also good for exploring the many sights and experiences that the Big Island has to offer.

The toilet in the hall needs replaced, the handle to flush the toilet, felt like it was going to break when flushing. The primary bedroom needs the same thing. The unit really needs more A/C! And the whole unit needs some updates, but overall nice unit, private and very spacious.

Reviewer Comments: As a great start the apartment was spotless (tumb up to the cleaner), the view from the lanay beautiful and the kitchen well stocked (from oil, spices, salt, pepper and all cooking material that you wish you have in a proper kitchen).The kids had great fun with the snorkelling equipment and board provided.All of that made a great stay to us.AC was very noisy so we did not use it (it was not needed anyway). The only thing to note is the curtain that are not blocking the light (and not exact dimension to windows). So you need an eye mask if you want to sleep late.Overall it was a fantastic stay, we highly recommend and would be super happy to come back

Well stocked except there were no coasters, so we had to use washcloths in lieu of coasters. I went to make pancakes and found no spatula to mix batter and no mixing bowl, again had to improvise. Needs more coffee cups. Also the master bathroom shower doesn't drain to well. When I showered I usually had water up to my ankles by the time I was done. Probably need a plumber to come out and look at it.Thank you

Terrific location for a getaway, but close to the action

We loved our stay at Kona Westwind! The unit is laid out very nicely, the view is spectacular, and the proximity to town is great (easy drive). Very little road noise. Hints: *bring suction grab bars for the tub if you have an unsteady guest. *The hill next to the unit is a cul-de-sac, so it's easy to drive up, park and unload (people and luggage), then swing down to park. Otherwise, it's a long, steep set of concrete stairs. *Parking is verrrry tight. Don't rent a big rig (we had a Chevy Impala and it was almost too big.) *Curtains don't block light in the master; if you're sensitive, bring a sleep mask. The unit is next to the walkway to the pool, but for our stay, very few people passed by. It felt like a lovely, private getaway! The property managers are responsive. If we return, we would definitely book this condo again. (By the way, go north and take the Kona Sea Salt farm and the Hawaiian Vanilla farm tours!!!)

Comfortable with Friendly Neighbors

My husband and I visited with his parents who are in their 80's. Benefits to this location for our party - ability to drop people off close to the front door with no stairs; comfortable porch on the ground floor; big dining table perfect for a puzzle; well-appointed kitchen and closet full of essential beach items. Pros - the master bedroom has 2-drawer nightstands (in lieu of a dresser); closets with ample hangers in both rooms. The condo community is small with some full-time residents. Since balconies overlook the pool, we had friendly conversations walking to the pool or to watch the sunset. Grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Pool is very clean (and refreshingly cold). The rental agency was responsive and friendly. Minor cons (that would not deter us from staying here again) - The condo complex is at the top of a hill. To walk in the surrounding neighborhood, there is no choice but to go down the hill and back up it again. My husband and I didn't mind this. We walked around the neighborhood, saying hello to neighbors. But our traveling partners could not manage the hill, impacting their ability to exercise. The condo was clean but it could use a deep clean around the edges and a refresh of the bathroom towels and sheets. Second bedroom needs bigger nightstands and a small desk. When two adult couples travel together, it's nice to have somewhat equal bedrooms. We recommend the condo to visitors who want a comfortable stay in a friendly, local neighborhood!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect size for our family of 5. 2 large bedrooms, and my son on the pull-out couch. The kitchen was perfect, fully stocked with everything so we opted to cook some meals at home & dined indoors and outdoors. My wife loved waking up to birds chirping every morning & reading on the outdoor couch by the garden. The kids's highlight was the pool that is deep enough to jump in and we had it all to ourselves. The kids loved those little green geckos in the garden. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood next to a jungle with papaya trees. There's a cooler, snorkel, beach chairs, life vests, beach toys etc. It was romantic to be able to watch the sunset and see the ocean from the master bedroom. The sunsets from the patio at dinner were epic & there's a grill by the pool where you can watch the sunset. Large smart tv was great. 5 mins drive from Kahaluu beach where we snorkeled in a coral reef with turtles & tropical fish. Several snorkel sets and rented an extra at snorkel bobs. NO traffic here or noisy neighbors everything was relaxing all around. Washer/dryer in unit was convenient & we used the outdoor rack to dry towels after the beach. Only complaint is that the parking spots here are tight, but we got the hang of it. Parking is under the building, 1 flight of stairs up directly into the unit. There is also a walkway directly in front of the unit to street where you can park to unload and easily wheel cooler, luggage, etc step free. Great value, we would stay here again.
