Not enough stars available here to rate our family's experience at this wonderful Brewster home. Prior to kids, my wife and I dreamed of bringing our family from Texas to Cape Cod for an epic summer journey. With a three-and-a-half year old and a five month old, the center of our journey was this home, which came to feel like our own.
(The Journey was indeed epic and you can read more about it in the novel.)
On the practical side, this house worked very well for our kids at their age. The three-year-old handled the stairs safely and easily. The five month old had room to roll and learn to crawl. As frequent VRBO hosts ourselves, we were particularly impressed with the array of supplies in the kitchen, the pantry, the laundry room, the bathrooms...well, everywhere.
Then, there's the library. One could earn a graduate degree in many subjects just working through the titles on these shelves, with an inspiring kids' collection as well.
Oh, and the yard. As I type this, a bunny is hopping in front of me just below the cardinals nest outside the kitchen window, surrounded by tall trees, a sizable lawn and flowers just beginning to bloom in late June.
Mia responded to all concerns and questions promptly and with care. So much so, my wife and I are preparing to go out for date night because Mia arranged us a babysitter.
Our family is all well traveled. With grandparents celebrating their 50th anniversary here with us, Texas aunties helping in the journey, and the ability to savor all of the glory of Brewster and Cape Cod, this made for the trip of a lifetime, and I'll just end by saying we hope to be back soon. As long as you don't book it first.
