Welcome to Relaxation Ranch in historic Movie Colony East! This secluded, zen destination is perfect for relaxing in the Palm Springs and being a part of Hollywood history. Relaxation Ranch was previously owned by director, producer, screenwriter and designer Joel Schumacher. Across the street is Bob Hope’s second home and within a few blocks you’ll find the homes of Frank Sinatra, Kirk Douglas, Bing Crosby, Lucille Ball and more!

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES
One step through the gate and you’ll realize you’ve stepped into a fabulous vacation oasis! As you enter the property you’ll find a gorgeous fire pit lounge area - great for relaxing with your group during those cool desert evenings - plus alfresco dining for up to 8 guests & a BBQ grill with a fridge. The resort-style backyard has a large, heated saltwater pool and brand-new spa surrounded by plenty of chaise lounges, a hammock, and more alfresco dining, plus a pergola with an outdoor lounge. Lush landscaping, delicious white grapefruit tree, towering palm trees, and stunning mountain views throughout the front and backyard will take your breath away. EV Charging available, too! This property was truly made for relaxing in the Palm Springs sunshine.

INTERIOR LIVING SPACES
This spacious designer chic vacation home has a great vibe - where the focus is on easy, livable comfort. It's gorgeous and sophisticated but casual and comfortable at the same time. Walls of glass around the property blur the lines between indoor-outdoor living in true Palm Springs style. The free-flowing floor plan is perfect for spending time with your entire group - but there are also some quiet spaces tucked away for curling up with a good book or just getting some alone time. The living room - which features a gorgeous fireplace and a vinyl record player - flows into the adjacent family room where you’ll find an entertainment center. The well-stocked kitchen - perfect for individual and group meal prep - features stainless steel appliances, a breakfast bar, and a kitchen nook - and there’s also a separate dining area!

This property has all the appointments you would expect from a luxury home - high speed internet, upgraded heating/cooling systems & 5 flatscreen TVs.

SLEEPING QUARTERS
All four bedrooms have been beautifully styled and feature a hotel-quality mattress, ample storage, a flatscreen TV (except the queen bedroom), & absolutely gorgeous mid mod inspired wallpaper. The Primary Suite has a King bed and an ensuite bath. A newly added door takes guests outside to a secluded patio with chairs and hammock – a great place for quiet morning coffee! Guest Suite 1 also has a King bed (which can be converted to 2 Twins upon request), and an ensuite bath. Guest Room 2 has a King bed and Guest Room 3 has a Queen bed, and they both share easy access to the Guest Bathroom in the hallway.

LOCATION
Great location in the very popular Movie Colony East - less than a mile from the world-famous Palm Canyon Drive as it cuts through the Uptown Design District. Just 2 blocks away from Ruth Hardy Park - a 22-acre park with tennis, volleyball and basketball courts. Casual eateries, fine dining, coffee spots, art galleries and specialty boutiques are all within walking distance. You'll be just minutes from movie theaters, museums, and live performance venues. This is the ideal location for those who want to be close to everything but just a little bit removed for peace and quiet.

• Check-In: After 3 PM | Checkout: 10 AM
• No smoking or vaping
• Renters must be 25 years of age or older
• No Music is allowed outside of the rental home (at any volume)
• Parking is restricted to 1 car per bedroom in designated parking spaces.
• Pets are not allowed in Non-Pet Friendly Properties
• Please do not exceed the max occupancy of the home
• All rentals require state and county tax plus additional required fees
• $1,000 security deposit required
• Spa heating is included with rental costs.
• Pool Heating can be purchased for $100/day from October 15th through April 30th. From May 1st through October 14th, pool heating can be purchased for an additional $50/day. This will be processed separately through VBRO based upon your request.
• Renters will need to review and sign a renter agreement before bookings are final.

Perfect Palm Springs Get-Away!

This was a great place to get our family together. Super-well maintained / very clean / extremely comfortable. Lot's of different spots to relax and connect inside and outside.Best stocked place we have ever stayed: more dishes, pillows, towels, blankets, supplies than could ever be needed.Don (property manager) came over when we checked in and made sure we were oriented on everything in the house. We could immediately start enjoying our vacation rather than trying to figure out how to make things work. During our stay, Don responded in person within 15 minutes to resolve a minor "emergency".Great location: convenient, yet safe and quiet. We were at Ruth Hardy Park (2 blocks away) almost every day - beautiful park with 7 tennis courts.I hardly ever make an unqualified recommendation - this place deserves it!

Great Place to RELAX and ENJOY time with Friends or Family

We've stayed in the Movie Colony before and love the location. This home is a 10 minute walk to Ruth Hardy Park which is wonderful, and another 10 minute walk to downtown Palm Springs. The home is great for entertaining with friends and/or family. We especially loved the record player and the assortment of records to listen too..so fun! The two bedrooms that are ensuite are very VERY large and comfy. The other two bedrooms are nice sized and although they share a bathroom it wasn't inconvenient. The grounds are manicured outside and the pool and hot tub were wonderful. The outside lighting creates a wonderful ambiance to enjoy an evening meal by the pool. Overall if you want a relaxing visit, this is your place to stay!!

Great vacation property!

Fantastic property for three couples. Love the updated but mid-century modern feel. Great location especially if you like the Palm Springs vibe - The yard is fantastic. Hosts were totally on top everything.

Just perfect

Cool retro decor, comfortable furniture inside and out, great hot tub and pool, lovely fire pit, and an incredibly well equipped kitchen. Great corner lot - gated, private and safe. Nice quiet neighborhood close to downtown. The utmost in relaxation. Hope to return and stay longer!

Relaxation Ranch was everything and more!

We had the most perfect trip staying at this location and house! Spent most of our time in the well heated pool and jacuzzi, bbq’d, and made full use of the kitchen. Every corner was clean and well maintained. Decor was artfully chosen and a conversation throughout the stay. There was no ammenity that we were without. The fireplace, record player, and board games were enjoyed as well. Super close to restaurants, shopping centers, airport, and attractions! We absolutely will be back!

Fabulous Experience

We decided to bring the whole family together for Thanksgiving this year and decided on Palm Springs and this wonderful home. It was perfect; very clean, well organized, all the appliances and resources of a typical home. The pool area and hot tub were fabulous and used all the time. The location is terrific, very walkable for exercise, close to everything and very safe. Definitely will pick this spot again. Oh, and the owners were readily available with any questions (which we took advantage of this a lot). Definitely will book here again.

We loved our stay at Relaxation Ranch! You know when a place just gets everything right??? Well...it's here! Relaxation Ranch has it all- a great location ( Movie Colony East), the perfect amount of MCM décor, great house layout, an amazing pool that gets sun all day, comfy hang out and dining spaces, and well-appointed home with all you could need for a stay with friends or family. The hosts were super helpful and made the process of renting this home a breeze. You have to stay at RR for your upcoming visit to PS!

Wonderful Stay in a Beautiful Home!

We loved our stay at this clean and comfy Palm Springs home that had everything we needed. In particular, we enjoyed the well-appointed outdoor spaces as well as the large pool and spa. It was extra convenient to be so close to downtown PS and Ruth Hardy Park. Can't wait to return!

Palm Spring paradise!

Our stay was short and that was our only regret. We wished we were able to stay and enjoy everything this beautiful property had to offer. This would be the perfect place to escape from a long, cold Midwestern winter. The outdoor areas were wonderful and there were so many places to sit and enjoy the perfect weather, the Palm Springs sunshine and the pool. The pool is beyond what we hoped for and lounging in the chairs on the water deck (sun shelf) was our favorite activity. We didn’t have a chance to use the fire pit area but we pictured sitting around it drinks in hand while back home they were shoveling snow. We have rented many homes in the past and this was the most well equipped kitchen we have experienced. We did cook several meals in the house and found that the dishes, utensils, pots and pans and the appliance were all high quality and so well organized. The mid century modern decor is just perfect and we really enjoyed all the books about the history of the area. We spent a lot of time walking and seeing all the famous movie star homes that were close by. Thank you so much to our hosts for sharing this piece of paradise. We hope to return some day soon.

Best in Palm Springs

I have rented many vacation homes through VRBO and this was one of the very best! The landscaping is gorgeous! We spent hours in the yard relaxing in the pool, enjoying the fragrant plants, and lounging on the patio. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. This was, by far, the best appointed kitchen I have ever seen in a rental. They had every kitchen appliance, dish, pans and utensil we needed to prepare all our meals. Linens on the beds were bright and clean and the mattresses extremely cozy. The house had plenty of spaces to spread out when we wanted and to gather together comfortably. The location is also excellent! Took us less than 10 minutes to drive to most everywhere we wanted to go - super convenient to great restaurants, shopping and celebrity homes. We can't wait to come back to Relaxation Ranch!

A Hidden Gem In Palm Spring Paradise!

Relaxation Ranch was the perfect place to enjoy our getaway to Palm Springs. Don, the property manager, met us at the house to check us in. He was friendly and more than helpful in showing us where items were around the house to make our stay comfortable. The house was great. In fact, it was more than we had expected. It had a modern vibe with fun wallpaper and furniture yet kept some of the original charm of the midcentury era. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and entertaining. Surrounded by hedges, the outside was private with many different seating areas for those of us who wanted the sun or found a shady area under an umbrella. We also spent a lot of time lounging in the pool enjoying the mountain views. I would highly recommend the house to anyone who wants a private home in Palm Springs. We plan to be back for a longer stay next year. We have found a hidden gem!

Relaxation Ranch Getaway

I've rented several times in Palm Springs and this was by far the best house I have ever rented. It didn't feel like a rental house, but more like a home. Very comfortable, impeccably decorated and every detail thought of. You can tell the owners take pride in their house. The living and bedrooms were very comfortable to live in and the we loved the outdoor areas. The pool/hot tub were used every day. The house's location is ideal with easy access to Palm Canyon Drive and Ruth Hardy Park. I will definitely be renting this property again.

Love this property! Feels like a 5 star resort. Homeowners have impeccable taste and can see that this property was well thought out. Feels open and spacious while in tandem has it's super cute nooks for private retreats. Will 100% be booking this property again.

Exquisite Perfection!!!

Exquisite is the best way I can describe this property. Unbelievable perfection in the decor, amenities and overall living experience. I am quite literally floored by how incredible our stay was. During my search, I was simply looking for a safe and clean place to stay for a business + pleasure weekend. What we received was above and beyond what I could have ever expected. Needless to say, if you’re contemplating this booking, I can genuinely tell you it’s worth every penny to invest in this property’s magnificent offerings. It’s called Relaxation Ranch and that is exactly what we received. I’m a homebody and prefer to travel briefly. BUT, I never wanted to leave. My guests and I will remember this trip for years to come. From the moment we arrived, we entered heaven on earth; literally. The property manager Don was friendly, kind and abundantly helpful. I consider myself a world traveler and I do have extremely high expectations. I know coming across reviews like this is rare. But in all honesty, words cannot describe the level of perfection we experienced. I can only hope everyone considering this listing will invest in the type of vacation you deserve, and this listing WILL deliver it. My compliments to the owners are unlimited. Their kindness, communication, enthusiasm and attention to details are no competition for a luxury resort. I would consciously choose to stay at Relaxation Ranch a million times over booking the Ritz Carlton, Parker or any other posh Palm Springs living situation. This property is just THAT amazing. Thank you to the owners for allowing my guests and I the privilege of living in your immaculate and curated Palm Springs oasis of relaxation and happiness. Having purchased Relaxation Ranch in 2020, we have been on a journey to update this house so we can call it home in a few years. In the meantime, we love to travel as you must if you're considering our property, so we're renting it out part of the year so we can venture out to other places as well.

Midwesterners at heart, we updated this house to reflect our values and love for relaxation, entertaining and cooking/baking. We have taken great pride and joy in designing this house - and hope you'll appreciate and respect it just the same.

When we're not traveling or visiting Palm Springs, we're working. A sad reality, we know, but we love our day jobs. One of us works for the government helping to keep our communities public health safe and the other runs a non-profit healthcare organization.

We hope you'll find our home just that - homey and comfortable inclusive of accommodations you may have at your home. We plan to move here permanently in a few years and have set Relaxation Ranch up in a way we can function here as we do when we're at our primary home in Chicago. We hope you'll appreciate the kitchen being particular fully of a variety of cooking and baking equipment, tools, etc. Whether you want to bake a turkey at Thanksgiving or make cupcakes and pipe your own frosting, we have just what you need to make this happen.
