We stayed at PO Ranch for two weeks in October. The fall color and mountain views from the cabin were glorious. This is a working ranch; be prepared for a rough entry road and loads of hay bales and old machinery right up to the yard area - and for horses, mules, and many, many Black Angus. For us, it was perfect. The cabin is made of logs from Finland, and is very well constructed, finished, and outfitted. Like most rural log cabins, flies are a nuisance and there are always dusty, hard to clean areas. The bulky log furniture is very nice, but there's so much of it that it can be difficult to get around. Well lighted (except for the kitchen). Unfortunately, the wood pellet stove wasn't working, and we had only a small spacer heater, slightly heated floors, and lots of blankets to keep warm at night. The dishes were okay, but some pans and utensils are aging out and some things had not been well washed. Linens were plentiful and clean. TV was excellent; wifi was okay. Host, being a rancher, was very busy but made sure we were happy and aware of things (like utility work) that might involve the cabin area. In summary, PO Ranch is a gem for anyone who likes life outside the city limits. Don't pass up an opportunity to enjoy it - especially in October!
