The Space:

The Dogwood is a cozy, thoughtfully restored 1BR/1BA cabin with views of Cashiers Lake and a welcoming atmosphere for couples and solo travelers.



Inside, you'll find a kitchen, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and the everyday essentials for a comfortable mountain stay. Hand-selected antiques and vintage furnishings give the cabin its distinctive character, with thoughtful details chosen by Carol, who helps care for the cabins.



Originally a U.S. Forest Service cabin in Waynesville, the Dogwood was relocated to Cashiers Lake and fully renovated in 2021. Its historic roots and updated interior create a charming place to relax after a day exploring the surrounding mountains.



Whether you're visiting for fall foliage, waterfall hikes, or a weekend enjoying Cashiers and nearby Highlands, the Dogwood offers a comfortable home base close to the heart of town.



Guest Access:

You'll have the entire Dogwood cabin to yourself, along with free on-site parking.



Shared outdoor amenities include a lakeside gazebo with bench seating, communal fire pit, charcoal grill, and outdoor sink and fish-cleaning station.



The gazebo is a lovely spot to enjoy morning coffee, unwind with a book, or take in the views across Cashiers Lake.



The Neighborhood:

The Dogwood is part of Cashiers Lake Cabins, a small historic cabin community near the heart of Cashiers. Local shops, restaurants, coffee, and other favorites are within easy walking distance.



In autumn, the surrounding mountains offer beautiful seasonal colors, scenic drives, and waterfall hikes. Nearby Highlands and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains provide even more opportunities for exploring the area's natural beauty.



Getting Around:

Free parking is available on-site. Several shops and restaurants in central Cashiers are within walking distance, but a car is recommended for exploring nearby waterfalls, hiking trails, scenic overlooks, Highlands, and other mountain destinations.



Other Things to Note:

The Dogwood offers views of Cashiers Lake and is one of several cabins on a compact shared property. You'll have your own private cabin, but neighboring cabins are nearby and outdoor amenities are shared. The property offers lake views but does not provide direct guest access to the water.



The Dogwood is best suited to guests who appreciate historic character, vintage charm, lake views, and walkability rather than a secluded or highly private mountain retreat.



Pet policy: The Dogwood is not pet-friendly. Guests traveling with dogs are welcome to explore our pet-friendly Birch, Cedar, and Hemlock cabins.
