Great spot. Great amenities and very clean. My friends and I really enjoyed the neighborhood. Great Mexican food, cool bars in the area, Thalia hall just up the road. There are a number of homeless people on the corner of the block, but noone ever bothered us, and we walked everywhere without concern.The street noise was pretty loud on our first night… which is to be expected, especially on Halloween. I feel the hosts provided fair warning of this in the listing, and even provided ear plugs in the bedrooms - so I’m not going to let that affect my rating. If noise sensitivity is a deal breaker for you, you might want to find a different place..Overall, I really appreciated the hosts communication, the quality of the apartment, and Pilsen itself. I would definitely stay in this spot again without hesitation.

The apartment is in a great location. Walking distance to yummy restaurants, shops and the El. Sylvia is so great to work with and communication is quick and thoughtful. I cannot recommend it more!

Great location! Upscale apartment!

Furnishings all quality, super clean, upscale amenities. Host furnished tons of extras that we have not found with other properties- ziplocks, trashbags, toiletries, coffee, spices, too much to list! Excellent stay and we will definitely be coming back.

The property was very well appointed and small details from choice of kitchen utensils (we preferred to cook most of our meals) to toiletries were not overlooked at all! Internet was on point --we were able to work online seamlessly :-)My daughter and I were in on business from out of town and needed a place that was safe, relatively quiet (it is in the midst of a busy area, after all) and easy to get to (Pink Line is a 10 min walk, although they also have garage accommodations). Sylvia is great and thorough in answering questions --very prompt and considerate :-) Her directions were clear and easy to understand --this greatly factored into a positive experience for the both of us.Cozy Pilsen Depa is square in the middle of Pilsen neighborhood amenities, shops, restaurants --and is super close to the Loop. As mentioned in the title we will be booking again in the future :-)Robin

Great for Thalia Hall

The Vrbo was awesome! Lots of keys great security. Cool location close to many shops, stores and restaurants. We went because of its location to Thalia Hall and the number of rooms. Very cozy and very mindful. Sylvia was extremely helpful with getting in and getting out. We had no problems whatsoever. I would definitely book to stay here again!

Wonderful Rental Experience

Friends and I rented this unit for a convention over the weekend. Sylvia was always quick to respond to questions and as a host, made an incredible effort to take any worries away so we could relax and enjoy our time. Absolutely would rent from her again, and the space was perfect!

Wonderful apartment in Pilsen

Visited Chicago for a weekend wedding and stayed at the Cozy Pilsner Depa. The space was clean and had the number of beds advertised. Sylvia, the manager, is delightful and very communicative. Location is great too. Close to transit and in a beautiful neighborhood with lots of murals and Mexican art and food. We happened to be there during a Day of the Day block party too. It was definitely a pleasant surprise. Whether it’s a quick trip or a longer stay I would definitely recommend the Cozy Pilsner Depa to any Chicago traveler who wants to be near, but not in downtown and experience a part of Chicago you might not expect to be there.

Lovely accommodations in a vibrant neighborhood.

Just ideal. We needed an efficient and affordable three bedroom location near public transit, and this facility turned out to be ideal. The property is newly remodeled, clean and safe. The owner met us upon our arrival just to be sure we had everything we needed, and once inside we immediately noticed all the small touches and upgrades that showed someone had spent a lot of time thinking about how to ensure our stay was positive. There are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs nearby, and the CTA stop is an 8-minute walk away. We felt we were very lucky to have found such a great place to stay, with such a thoughtful host.

Fabulous, fantastic, and fab!!

This is hands down one of the best VRBOs my wife and I have ever stayed in. We're not particularly fussy people, but the place was noticeably clean! The bathroom was impeccable, with almost literally everything you need other than your toothbrush and paste - there was Kleenex, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, nice little soap bars, Q-Tips, hair scrunchies, hair dryer, black make-up towels as well as beautiful smelling (not overpowering though) towels. The kitchen was FULLY equipped, even having a full spice rack and all the cookware and utensils you could ever need. The bedrooms were also thoughtfully equipped with a wireless phone charger on each bedside table and table lamps. Everything was so well thought out for the comfort and convenience of guests and we really appreciated having a garage to park in. I can highly recommend this place, whether you plan on staying in, and cocooning with Netflix, or going out for an amazing Mexican meal and margarita in the neighbourhood.

Great stay, great location

This apartment was perfect for us in a great location. Walking distance to some great authentic Mexican restaurants and other places like McDonalds. There is a delicious ice cream shop across the street that we went to every night. There were plenty of bath towels for all 5 of us and it was so nice to have full length mirrors in every bedroom. Sylvia responded promptly whenever I messaged her. My daughter accidentally left a necklace behind after we checked out and Sylvia contacted her cleaners right away to ask if they had seen it. She went to the post office the very next day to mail it to us. I appreciate that she went out of her way to do this for us and appreciate the kindness. We would happily stay here again in the future.

A Chicago Gem!

The space is bright and inviting, and feels like home away from home! Sylvia was excellent with communication and answered all of our questions before arriving. The neighborhood is lively, and although the front two rooms get some sound off the street from passers by, the street itself is pretty quiet. The rooms have noise machines and headphones which was such a nice touch! Public transit is super easy to get to with a short walk and there are tons of great food options as well. Will definitely book again the next time we come to Chicago!

It was a relaxing stay at Cozy Depa. I attended a conference in Chicago and it was nice to come to a clean, quaint apartment. There is a coffee shop a few steps away, Dark Matter Coffee that is a must; their coffees and chocolates. A corner market is nearby to purchase any snacks or last minute items one may have forgotten. The neighborhood was alive and vibrant. It is close to bus stops if anyone needs to head downtown and to the trains too. I would definitely stay here again.

Grad Weekend

We stayed four nights for my son’s graduation from UChicago. The apartment was perfect for us! Very clean and well appointed with everything we needed. Close to great restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. Wonderful hosts! Thank you!

Super clean and well provisioned. You could easily cook a large meal. Fun neighborhood. Was in for concerts at Thalia Hall. Perfect walking distance. If you like Mexican food, this neighborhood is for you. Dedicated parking spot behind building.

It’s given me a unique perspective and a love for both the vibrant culture of Puerto Rico and Florida, as well as the energy and diversity of Chicago. I think it’s a great combination that makes me appreciate all the different communities here!

It’s close enough to downtown Chicago, so you can easily explore all the city has to offer, but it also has its own unique charm with great local spots, art, and delicious food.
