Amazing views!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent two weeks here and genuinely didn't want to leave.The condo is well-stocked with everything you need, and unlike a lot of rentals, the photos are completely accurate. That said, they still don't do justice to the actual view and sunset from the lanai—it's something you have to see in person. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the location is fantastic, and any time we had a question, the property management team was right on top of it.Easily a five-star stay. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

We were, however, a bit surprised by your comment that the unit "needs some sprucing up," as the owner has invested significantly in recent upgrades, including a remodeled kitchen and bathroom, new flooring, and fresh interior paint. While we understand that everyone's tastes and expectations are different, we do feel the home reflects those improvements and is accurately represented in our listing photos. What a wonderful place!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What a wonderful place! It’s so much more spacious than a typical hotel room and perfectly located near Kona. You’re right on the water, with a pool and hot tub to relax in—or you can use it as a home base for adventures all over the island, which is exactly what we did. The stay was peaceful, quiet, and thoroughly enjoyable. The unit itself is charming and in great condition, with updated flooring and a cozy feel. Every morning, I walked to Green Flash Coffee and brought back some of their incredible brew to enjoy on the lanai before we set out for the day. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Lovely Condo, Wonderful Property Management, and Awesome Views!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our 40th wedding anniversary trip to Kona Makai 1-103 on the Big Island. Truly, the owners have done a marvelous job renovating the unit. We cooked in the unit every day and ate on the beautiful lanai as we listened to the soothing waves. The unit was clean and the bed was super comfortable. The AC units in both the living room and bedroom kept the place cool in the heat of the day. You can trust Knutson & Associates with your vacation needs. They provided stellar customer service when my wife had questions about one of the new appliances. The property was better than we expected, and we would definitely recommend this unit. Some recommendations: Hawaii Forest and Trail Maunakea Summit & Stars, Seaquest Premium Morning Snorkel, Hilo Farmers' Market, 808 Grindz, and Tuk Tuk Thai Food Truck.

Great View doesn't makeup for the poor condition of the unit

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Needed to be remodeled 25 yrs ago. Everything, and I mean everything is old, dingy, dirty, rusty, stained or just falling apart. Old lumpy twin mattresses connected together pretending to be a king bed well good luck for a good night’s sleep. Everything in this unit is poor quality. Old furniture and all housewares looked like they came from thrift shops and garage sales. Owner hasn't spent a nickel he wasn't forced to. Stove replaced-too unsafe to operate, dishwasher died, not replaced, plumbing dreadful with leaky pipes-bathroom smells like a urinal on occasions from upper floors, occasional flooding in kitchen, bathtub doesn't drain well and sewer fly infestations. Filthy stained carpet. Property manager was excellent though; when the bath tub wouldn’t drain, bringing new towels (there was only 2), a new microwave when it died and finally replacing refrigerator door shelves that were duct taped on. But just lipstick on a pig.

Aloha, we would like to respectfully point out that the listing does clearly state that the unit is in original condition and that the price reflects that. You had also mentioned that you had previously stayed in this unit for extended periods of time and we were therefore surprised that you would be so unhappy with its condition as to cast it in an extremely negative light in your review. We are glad you were pleased with our prompt response to all issues that arose and, had you mentioned the dishwasher, we would have of course addressed that as well. The best view in the area!

Its location and proximity to the water are perfect, and I love that you can hear the waves from both sides of the apartment. We’ve already booked for next year.
