Beautifully decorated in farmhouse-chic style, this four-bedroom, two full and two half bathroom Fennville home brings the latest in smart-home amenities to a gorgeous, pastoral setting near the shores of Lake Michigan. Scenically situated on twenty acres of land overlooking Virtue Cider's neighboring orchard, this modern home is a wonderful spot for a family vacation, a couples' retreat, or a relaxing weekend away with friends. On this expansive piece of property, you'll find a private heated swimming pool, private hot tub, outdoor dining spaces on both the sundeck and the screened porch, and such thoughtful touches as a firepit, rocking chairs, and two hammocks beneath the trees. WiFi is located throughout the property.



Step inside to enjoy a wealth of entertainment options (including five Smart TVs, six Amazon Alexa, yard games) and stylish elements of design that include shiplap walls, stainless steel and subway tile in the polished kitchen, contemporary light fixtures, vibrant wallpaper, and gorgeous linens and upholstery throughout. At night, take your pick of four bedrooms - a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a second bedroom with two queens, a third bedroom with two double beds, and a fourth with two sturdy sets of twin bunk beds. There is an extra large capacity washer/dryer and total of two full and two half baths.



What's nearby:
This 21-acre property is the perfect place to walk, relax, and explore, with a number of trails on the grounds and Virtue Cider's orchard awaiting immediately east. Spend an afternoon wine tasting at the famous Fenn Valley Vineyards less than two miles east (seven minute drive), or go swimming on the sunny shores of Lake Michigan at Pier Cove Park (five miles west), West Side County Park (six miles west), or Oval Beach (nine miles north). You'll also be eight miles south of the restaurants, shops, and breweries in downtown Saugatuck, and 13 miles south of Saugatuck Dunes State Park. Not to mention, Crane Orchards, Waypost Brewing Co., Michigan Wine Co., and Modales Winery are all great places for the adults to indulge in a wine tasting or craft beer!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this property. Check-in was very easy. The instructions and communication from the management company were thorough and exceeded my expectations. The house was clean and felt like a “home.” We enjoyed walking the property and all it had to offer - especially the pool, hot tub, front porch, and screened in porch. We definitely hope to make a return visit.

We just returned from a stay with 6 adults and 2 children. We had a blast! The pool was utilized a LOT and we love the patio with the wind chimes and beautiful garden. Based on reviews and information from the company, we had more stuff packed than what we needed (toilet paper, paper towel). Communication was great! The upstairs was hot because it was super humid outside and the suggestion was to use more fans, but other than that, our stay was amazing! Clean, well stocked, great space. Would definitely visit again!

Beware: Owned by Vacasa, Pool & Hot Tub Unusable

Expect the pool and hot tub to be disgustingly dirty and unusable because that's the level of cleanliness the hosts think is OK and if any other issues come up you will not get a response from the "local team" that can help fix problems for at least 3 days after constantly calling/texting for help. This property is also owned managed “Vacasa” which means VRBO has ZERO power to resolve issues and relies on the Vacasa management company which also has ZERO power over their hosts so if any issues come up it’s up to the host, 3 levels removed from VRBO, to right any wrongs and with this property they did not respond for 3 days and ultimately said the issues we encountered weren’t issues at all. I opened multiple cases with both VRBO and Vacasa to resolve the issue without luck. Within a few hours of checking-in we realized the pool was cold (~70 degrees) and extremely full of leaves/bugs/dirt to the point it would have been gross to swim in. The hot tub water was about 8"-10" too low and was full of scum. It looks like the filter stopped working so it had a nasty film on top of the water and appeared to have extreme calcification similar to a humidifier... regardless of what the film/scum was, there is no way anyone would want to set foot in it. The rest of the property was fine, the interior only had minor issues like unset clocks, food on the floor by the couch, and the “screened-in” porch is more of a dirty outdoor space with screens loosely hanging so it is not bug proof.

Perfect for a Girls Weekend

The house was amazing. We loved the different sitting areas, the pool, the landscaping. There were 7 of us there for a girls' weekend and we didn't leave the house. The house was very clean and well decorated. We loved having the Echo Dots around the house and pool for music. We would definitely book this house again!

Fennville Modern Smart Home

The pictures portray this to be a new, beautiful, modern house with large rooms - it is not. It's likely an old farm house remodeled. Floors in every room are slanted - majorly. One family member said one upstairs toilet was very crooked. The stairs to the second level are so narrow we feared for the children going up and down them. One night an adult fell down 3 steps coming to the main level to check on a child who had awoken. She has bruises on her arm from the fall. Some of the main level shower tile grout contains black mold - scary. When we arrived (we rented Tuesday to Friday), the pool was cloudy to the point of not being able to see the bottom, the handle at the stairs was loose (moved side to side) and not at all safe, there are no markings on the side of the pool to warn of the depth change, the pool house was filled with bugs, spider webs, leaves and debris, many pool toys were broken. The cloudiness was remedied by Thursday. The listing states a heated pool & hot tub. The pool was not heated. Hot tub was nice. The house has a closet under the stairway filled with children's toys. Unfortunately it wasn't labeled and we found it the last evening of our stay. Sorry to say, this was not worth the amount we paid for 3 nights. I don't recommend it.

This is a really great property to have fun and relax with your family. The pool area is wonderful. The property grounds are beautiful. Lots of beautiful sounding wind chimes that lull you into relaxation. You know how everyone always ends up in your kitchen? Plenty of room in this kitchen.

Perfect Girls Weekend Getaway

The house was beautiful, and a perfect setting for the girls getaway we planned with 7 people. The listing was accurate, and the house was clean. Leading up to my stay, I got emails saying I should download the Vacasa app, but I also received texts a week prior to my stay saying check in information would be sent via text as well. I decided to download the app just in case. I was thankful I did because the key code and WiFi populated in the app on the day before check in, but I never received any texts with the information. The house is decorated well and furniture is comfortable. The upstairs of the house is only a small landing and the 3 bedrooms - the bunk room, the master bedroom with the king bed, and the bedroom with the 2 queen beds. The master bedroom has a half bath ensuite and there's also a full bath upstairs just outside the room with 2 queen beds. Downstairs has the bedroom with the 2 doubles, just off the dining room area, and the other full bath and half bath are downstairs, located just off the eat in kitchen area. The pool was clean and had lots of chairs and floats. It was great having a connected Echo Dot in every room, so we could play music. The only downside is we sent a message because we couldn't get the light on the screened in porch to work, and while I received a standard "we'll work on that" reply, no one ever answered my question. So communication wasn't great there. Overall though, it's a great location, fun, and we really enjoyed our stay!

Great house.....pool issue was disappointing

House was great. Clean. Updated. My only complaint involves the cleanliness of the pool and poor communication with the management company. When checking in there was someone there working on cleaning the pool. Chemicals were off, vacuum did not work, and pool water was too low for filter to run efficiently. The lady spent 3 of the 4 mornings working to get it clean. While discussing with the management company i just got the standard "sorry for the inconvenience how is everything else." They should have done something to compensate me for not having the pool ready for my stay.

Charming and relaxing home.

We loved staying at this home, it was very quiet and relaxing. The house was great, lots of space, comfortable rooms/beds and plenty of stuff that you’d need for a great vacation. The Little Store was great for unexpected needs like ice, pizza and anything else you’d need. Patio was beautiful and the fire pit was great, made s’mores almost every night. The pool was great too but cleaning is a must, every day with the trees by the pool. We enjoyed every day and felt well rested after leaving.

Beautiful house!

We had a fantastic girls weekend at this property. This is truly a beautiful home with so many gathering spaces. Just note that the kitchen isn't very well stocked with basics so be sure to bring any cooking seasoning/oils etc with you. Also, the property does not include beach towels so bring your own!

Quiet and Cozy

The property and house were lovely for a fall trip. We were looking for something off the beaten path but not so far from shops and dining that it was a hassle to go anywhere. This really the bill. Check in and out were super simple. The house was tidy, rustic but modern and had great amenities.

Typical stay for a company owned rental

We plan on contacting them directly but this popped up in my email first so here we go. My husband and I arrived at the property around 6:30pm. When we entered I immediately smelled gas. Growing up with a gas stove I quickly checked and one of the burners had been left on (but not burning). I turned it off and we quickly exited the rental. When calling the rental company we spoke with someone who told us it was ok to leave and go into town and she would contact the manager. Right before going out of cell service range we get a message that they have called the fire department. Great. I then re asked if we would have to be there to let them in. It turns out we DID have to be there and rushed back to some pretty peeved fire fighters. When all of this is going down, no one from the rental company is coming out to help. I am texting with who I assume is the manager asking questions for the fire fighters. I then have to do the same with the gas company. Around 8:30 everyone is gone but the fabrics still smell of gas so we decide to get a hotel for the night and ask for the first night of our stay to be compensated which we were told yes. The next day we get a message only giving us half of a refund. Honestly we were so upset that no one called themselves or came out to the property to help that we canceled the rest of our stay. I can’t tell you much about the property since we didn’t stay there. Cherry on top was no refund after no help so I would avoid any rentals from this company.

Spring Break Getaway

The house is gorgeous and stocked with pans and utensils to support cooking meals for 10+ ppl. There is an abundance of wind chimes on the property. While charming during the day, can be disruptive at night (Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper-- the room with the 2 queens seemed to have the best buffer against the chimes at night). Ample room for our party of 10-- adults and kids were able to spread out and relax. The game room was stocked with some toys and games for a range of ages. The communication piece with the management company was disappointing. Canned responses, and some questions were not directly answered. I thought with the warmer weather we'd been having they might be able to open and heat the pool. Although the communication stated it was accessible prior to booking, come check-in, it wasn't. All correspondence seemed to ignore that initial exchange and all responses were answered by different names. Fortunately, we were able to get into the Holland aquatic center for a good rate, and the kids got pool time. If the weather was better, the kids would've been outside exploring more-- it's a huge property. The hot tub was a little musty on arrival, so we gave it a good long run prior to partaking. As for the grill, both propane tanks were out of fuel, and they were not able to replenish in our time there, so we got a small amenities refund. All in all, it's a great spot, very secluded and a short 10-15 drive to restaurants, downtowns, etc. The kids, aged 2-11 loved it. Although the management company communcation is not the best, I'd consider rebooking in the summertime sometime.

Great House

We loved our stay here. Plenty of room for 4 adults, 2 kids & a toddler! No one felt on top of each other! The house was meticulously cleaned and we had everything we needed. Cooked dinner there every night which was not the original plan! We would definitely rebook Thorndale in the future!

Great family vacation spot!

The home and yard are lovely; we especially enjoyed the pool, and the many places to sit and relax outdoors. The kitchen is a warm, welcoming, and well appointed gathering spot— but it was nice to also have a variety of comfortable spaces to gather , or sit and read quietly. It worked well for all 3 generations! It was also very nice to have 2 full and 2 half baths and a washer and dryer, and all of the modern kitchen appliances.

Beautiful Rustic farmhouse, tucked away on a huge plot of land. Very private and peaceful. Nice size pool, hot tub, lots of nature to explore. About a 10- 15 minute drive to town.

Stunning property

My husband and 2 sons age 11 and 17 stayed at the property for 5 nights. First, the good…The property was stunning. The owners have paid great attention to every detail to create a beautiful and relaxing retreat. The decor features local art and area specific antiques. The home was extremely clean and all sheets and towels were new and fresh. The outdoor space was well thought out with large mature trees with wind chimes that gave the sense of being at a spa retreat with total privacy which I loved. The pool area was tastefully decorated with quality outdoor furnishings. Now the bad….which has to do with the property management company Vacasa. We booked this property with the idea That our vacation would be spent at the house in the pool and hot tub. When we arrived it was apparent the pool had not been serviced in a while and the pump basket could be seen running dry with tons of leaves in it. The skimmer was jammed up with leaves and the pool water was not being filtered. The pool water was Very very dirty and we were not about to get into it. The hot tub was also filled with bugs and dirt and grime. I called Vacasa immediately to report these issues and finally got someone to come out the day before we were to leave. The pool was not able to be fixed during our stay. Vacasa was so hard to get a hold of and I was constantly told the local office would Call me and it took them 4 days to do so. I understand everyone is low on help these days but this was extreme and I will not stay in another home managed by Vacasa in the future. 2 weeks after we left the home I was told I would get 10 percent back of what I paid for the inconvenience which did not make up for the fact that my entire vacation was centered around a pool and hot tub we could not use.
