We really enjoyed our stay at Funabori apartments! Everything about the experience was great, from Masa-san greeting us as we arrived and helping us get settled in, to the apartment onsen. The room was clean and comfortable and easy access from the station. The onsen was so nice to relax in after a long day of sight-seeing. Funabori is also a nice place to come to get out of the hustle of other places around Tokyo. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the area!ありがとうございました！

Comfortable, Quiet, and Safe!

These rooms are located in a quiet residential suburb, but still a convenient 5 minute walk to the grocery store, convenience store, and Funabori train station. The host is lovely and easily available to help with questions and recommendations for local spots to visit. I will be staying here again on my next trip to Tokyo!

Great place to relax

It was nice to be away from the crowded tokyo central area. The apartment is clean and conveniently located near a train station. There was a nice walking and biking path near by with great views along the river. There are a lot of places to eat right next to the apartment. The host is super friendly and even helped me with my luggage. It was a nice spot to return to after a day of sight seeing.

Perfect

Masakatsu was a big help in our discovery of Japan and Tokyo. The place was nice, clean and practical. It was also close to a lot of things like restaurants and konbinis. We definitely want to come back when we have the chance !

Masakatsu was a friendly and gracious host. The apartment was clean and cool. The area is quite residential and a bit far from the city center, but I was able to consistently get around by train. Great restaurants nearby. Onsen is not actually part of the apartment. Instead it is a separate business nearby which is discounted to apartment tenants. Close to grocery store, drug store, conbinis, train station.

The host Masa was so nice to me and my friend. He took us to eat sushi and introduced me to a neighboring onsen which I ended up visiting 5 times! I will be glad to stay here again and would highly recommend this accommodation.

The apartment is well located, easy to find and not too far from a subway station. The area has all necessary stores: supermarket, drug store, mini-mart and restaurants. The room itself is well-functioning. There are all you need in one room including kitchen and washing machine. Even though the room is a bit dusty, it is decorated in very interesting style. My room was Geisha room so there are Geisha's Kimono and her music instrument. We found it very realistic so that my sister was scared of Geisha ghost. The apartment also gives free access to hot spring and public bath which it let me experience the traditional naked group shower in Japanese way. Our host, Masakatsu-san, is very kind person. He provided us with directions from airports to the apartment and other directions from the apartment to attractions. The apartment also provide free pocket wifi throughout my staying which we found it very convenient. Overall, we are pleased with our staying and we will definitely recommend the apartment to our friends.

The apartment's located in a very nice, quiet neighborhood and the host, Masa-san is a fantastic host who knows the area well and is always happy to recommend things do to or restaurants to check out. I am planning on returning to the Tokyo area again next fall and this is definitely where I will stay again.

This was our first time in Japan, we do not speak Japanese, and we could not have had a more perfect experience. Next time we visit, we would reserve this apartment again without looking elsewhere. Masa, the host, was exceedingly kind and provides EXCELLENT directions and information about the surrounding area. We had no trouble finding the place at night. It is a short (< 5 min) walk from the Funabori station, and we easily were able to travel throughout Tokyo via public transportation. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. After spending most of the day exploring the city, it was relaxing to return to the apartment and unwind. We also enjoyed eating dinner at the nearby (downstairs and across the street) restaurants. Otomi (yakitori) and Amino both had excellent food and the chefs/owners were very friendly, too. We really can't recommend this place enough.

I spent a little over a week here just recently and I can’t think of one negative thing to say. The

I spent a little over a week here just recently and I can’t think of one negative thing to say. The apartment is reasonably sized for one or two people and is an actual apartment – you will have a small kitchen, stove, refrigerator, and a washing machine. No dryer though – this is pretty normal for Japanese homes and you can either hang your clothes to dry or take them down to the coin laundry that’s just a few doors down. The host, Masa-san also owns the onsen and sento that’s right next to the laundry and will give you admission tickets for the nights that you are staying. If you have never gone, you should definitely go. Yes, it can be a bit unnerving at first but it was one of the high points of my stay. I wish I had gone earlier. Speaking of Masa-san, he is a wonderful host. He is friendly, accomodating and has an extensive knowledge of the area and is always ready with a recommendation of where to eat or what to do. The apartment is located outside of the busy part of Tokyo in the city of Edogawa. It’s about 500 m from the Toei Shinjuku Line Station and from there it’s about 30-35 minutes to most locations in the greater Tokyo area. Edogawa itself is a very nice place and you owe it to yourself to spend at least one day exploring it. There are several restaurants, shops, and other things to see that are all within a reasonable walk from the apartment. The walking path along the canal is a very nice walk and the observation tower at the Tower Hall is free and gives you an excellent view of the city. I will be definitely be staying here again when I return to Tokyo.

Arrived 4hrs before check in time (4pm) but was allowed to leave our luggage & start our holiday. roam around vicinity with it until exactly 4pm before we are allowed to check in. Reminder to all to request for it before booking. On checking in, we discuss with host the time of our flight (5pm) and that we can check out and leave the place at 1pm. Could be due to miscommunication, we were request to check out at 11am (cleaning time) when we are out in town. Luckily, we had packed before leaving and host carried luggage from the room to store at his office to enable cleaning aunty to clean. We found out when we return to check out. Good for us coz we saved the trouble to carry the luggage from 2nd floor to ground floor. Thus, reminder again to request to store luggage in office before booking. Verbal communication is not advise to avoid miscommunication. Stayed for 6 days 5 nights but room was not clean throughout although cleaning fee was charged. Thus, please prepare your own plastic bags for your trash. There is a mini trash collection center near the staircase leading to room. Area was convenient with at least 4 supermarkets nearby and many eatery located around accommodation & train station (Funabori station) which is about 10mins walk. Host will give you tickets for public bath owned by them just 4 doors away. my girl enjoyed going to public bath with the locals. The rooms owned by the host are on 2nd floor without lift and office is right below. Smaller luggage are advised if your travelling with man :). Overall, the fee paid are cheaper than hotel as there are 3 of us and there are not many hotels with twin bed or triple sharing. We used 3days Tokyo metro pass @ Yen 1500 with unlimited rides on Tokyo metro to get us around - JR line has to be paid separately. Host will give you a unlimited wifi router thus it is still oki if your do not have data sim. The speed of wifi router is acceptable if your using only for whatsapp but not for email checking. Host will give your some write up and suggestion of things to do and direction to walk to accommodation from train station upon confirmation of booking with them.

This was our first stay in Japan, and we immediately missed parts of it when we left. The rooms are a clean and comfortable. They are also a good size, which is a plus for someone who stands at about 6'2". The beds were nice, and facilities were easy to use. Not only that, but Masakatsu was very accommodating and informative on how to use everything in the room, as well as what restaurants and attractions were nearby. He also provided very clear instructions on how to get to the place, and how to get to many popular tourist spots from the apartments as well. The apartments also come with small tickets that allow you to access an Onsen/Sento that they own. This was honestly my favorite part of the experience, and something I recommend for everyone that stays here, as it's a great way to relax after an entire day of walking, and a truly unique Japanese cultural experience. The location of the apartments was nice as well. While it wasn't in the center of the city, it was extremely close to Funabori station which essentially allows you to easily access the rest of the city. The location was also really quiet and quite nice to return to at the end of the night. Honestly, I have nothing but praise for these apartments, and when returning to Tokyo I'll book another stay with Masakatsu in a heartbeat. I could not be more pleased with my stay or Masakatsu's amazing hospitality.

４００年の歴史を持つ温泉を守ってきました。
この温泉は体にいいので外国の方にもおすすめするためにオーナーになりました。
I am originally from Funabori in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo.
I have dedicated myself to preserving a hot spring with a 400-year history.
Because the water is so beneficial for the body, I became the owner so that I could recommend it to visitors from abroad.

ここは私の生まれ育った町です。神社、お寺、公園、が沢山あります。
新川に沿いには千本桜があり都内でも有名です。
船堀には船堀タワーがあり、無料で展望台まで行けます。
This is the town where I was born and raised. There are many shrines, temples, and parks here.
The rows of cherry blossom trees along the Shinkawa River are famous, even within Tokyo.
Funabori is home to Funabori Tower, and you can visit the observation deck for free.
