Super cute!

We absolutely loved our stay! The cottage was exactly what we needed as a family of three. Nicely stocked kitchen, cute breakfast nook, and a nice little living room to hang out in after a day at the beach. The walk was no more than 5 minutes to short sands. Quiet neighborhood, so sitting outside in the patio area was so relaxing. The owners were super sweet and very responsive to our questions and concerns! We cannot wait to return again!

Very sweet beach cottage on quiet street with a lovely landscaped sitting area out front galley kitchen is fully equipped. 2 minute walk to center and beach. The owners were very friendly and kind. Will definitely return.

Location, location, location

Cottage was very centrally locate within easy walking to Short Sands, town and with energy to Long Sands beach . Bedrooms held dbl bed each room and small cabinet. A/c ea bedroom. View was wonderful as set back from road. Slight incline walking up to cottage. Overall very pleased with booking.

Short Sands York Maine vacation

Wonderful time with family at Waverly cottage. It was neat and clean and just as advertised. Certainly small but perfect for two people. I had family at the cottage next door and spent a lot of time on their large and private back deck.

Convenient Location

This cottage was perfect for my two teens and I. It was a quick walk to the beach or town, so there was no need to find/pay for parking at Short Sands Beach. The owners were quick to respond when I accidently locked the keys in the cottage one evening, which we were very thankful for. I would definitely stay here again.

Great week in York Beach

The cottage is exactly as advertised, small but perfect for us. It was clean, had everything we needed and within walking distance to everything. We especially liked the little outdoor dining area.

Wonderful cottage, excellent location

From start to finish this was so easy. Excellent communication with Janice, the location was wonderful, you can walk to the beach and everywhere else. We had a great week. Definitely will go back!

Function Over Frills

This place worked great for us. We were not looking for fancy. The location is perfect. The layout is very functional. If you are a larger sized person you may find the bathroom shower to be a bit small.

York Beach

We have been vacationing at York Beach with our family for 16 years. We rent a house near Short Sands. As our family grew we needed more space and found this perfect small place to rent located near the other home we rent. It is a very short walk to the beach on a quiet street. It is a two bedroom with a small kitchen, eating area and living room space. It has a bathroom with a shower. Four adults stayed here comfortably. The owners, Janice and Mike, are wonderful people I would recommend renting this property for four adults with no reservations.

Home Away From Home

I have never rented a cottage before for a summer getaway but rather stayed in motels. I am pleased to say that this experience is one that I will now continue. The owners of this facility are extremely friendly - always available either by phone or in person to answer all you questions or take care or any problems that may arise. You know they are there if needed but yet you have total privacy for yourself. I would recommend Waverly Cottages without reservation if you are looking for a clean, comfortable and friendly 'home away from home' which is only minutes from the beach and town.

Extraordinary spot, and excellent hosts

Everything was 'as advertised' and better; very clean, well-appointed kitchen with everything needed to cook, and a location that is convenient walking distance to Short and Long Sands beach and driving distance to many other spots in the Maine coastal paradise. Janice made the arrival and departure as easy as possible, and she and her partner were friendly and responsive. We stayed in both the small cottage (this post), which was intimate but workable for two unrelated couples (would be ideal for say two friends or a couple with children). The larger house across the street was beautiful, spacious enough to accommodate three unrelated couples comfortably (even with work spaces for remote work/studying, etc.).

Vacation Bliss

Property was charming. Perfect for two. Quiet and perfect location near downtown and beach. We went for morning and evening walks. Literally two minutes to shops and short Sand's beach and a nice extended walk to my favorite beach at Long Sand's. Owners were wonderful. Would highly recommend for two or a couple with a small child as it is cottage size.

We had a great time. Lovely location, very short walk to the beach, no more than 5 minutes. Small but perfect for a small family or a couple of friends. Very efficiently organized for such a small place. Had everything you need. Bring your own linens, towels, dish cloths/ towels. Very nice owners and very clean. There is no air conditioning but with fans it kept the breeze going and we managed through 2 of the hottest days of the summer. Well shaded. So it helped to keep things cooler. Would recommend it for a nice relaxing vacation.

Love this cottage!

We have stayed here for two consecutive years and have just booked our third. It's clean and quiet. Walking distance to Short Sands for many walks on the beach. The cottage has a full kitchen and deck with grill and table and chairs for staying "home", but it's close to many great places to eat breakfast, lunch aninner. Short drives to Ogunquit and Portland ME to the north and Portsmouth, Rye and Hampton NH to the south.

The price is right for this cottage!

I actually stayed in the cottage next door to this one....I thought this was a cute place and clean! It was close to the beach and right for the price. The only negative was I wish there had been an air conditioner in the cottage as it got extremely hot the week we were there. We would stay here again though!
