I’m a U.S. Army veteran and a long‑time traveler who has stayed in short‑term rentals across the country and around the world. Those experiences shaped the way I host today. My goal is simple: create a place that feels comfortable, thoughtful, and easy for every guest who walks through the door.

Although I never lived in this home, I chose it with intention. I was drawn to the open‑concept design, the smart layout, and the sense of calm in this neighborhood. Over the past two years, I’ve hosted nearly a hundred families here and have met wonderful guests from all walks of life. My wife even added a karaoke machine—partly for fun, partly because she likes the idea of sneaking over to sing when the house is empty.

This home sits in the Sekani neighborhood, a quiet and slow‑growing community that developed over more than 15 years. Salish Street was part of the first phase, and 9th Street came later in the third phase as the project changed hands several times. The result is a peaceful, low‑traffic area where neighbors are friendly but keep to themselves.

It’s a non‑HOA neighborhood with a relaxed, easygoing feel. People tend to stay indoors most of the year, but you’ll see everyone come out on the Fourth of July or during the summer community garage sale. It’s the kind of place where people are mindful of their space, respectful of others, and appreciative of the quiet. That calm, steady atmosphere is one of the reasons I chose this location for hosting.

This home has a thoughtful layout that immediately stood out to me. The open‑concept design makes the space feel bright and welcoming, and the original oversized garage allowed us to convert two‑thirds of it into a comfortable fourth bedroom. We also added a utility sink in the laundry room and installed a whole‑house water filtration system for extra peace of mind.

Before we purchased it, the home belonged to a family stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. I’m sure they created many wonderful memories here, and it feels meaningful to continue that sense of care and continuity.
