Family retreat
Blueberry Dunes is a dog friendly family retreat perfect for fun times and lasting memories. Come enjoy a 1940s beach cottage that has been completely renovated with that goal in mind. Blueberry Dunes efficiently accommodates large groups and provides lots of fun indoor and outdoor activities all within 300 steps to the beautiful oceanfront and just two miles from fun filled downtown Fernandina Beach with its many fine restaurants, art galleries, great shopping, waterfront docks, historic architecture, bus and boat tours, mini-golf and much more.
Between the 4 BR, 4 bath main house and the fully renovated pool house, with its own full bathroom and kitchen/laundry, Blueberry Dunes has plenty of sleeping options for your party. Outdoor activities include a 15’ x 30’ foot inground saltwater pool surrounded by a 1200 S.F. area paved with cool touch pavers. The pool deck has outdoor games including connect 4, corn hole, and bocce, lots of room for sunbathing, hot/cold water shower and an adjacent fire pit with plenty of seating for a fun family gathering in the evenings. The pool has a convertible basketball/volleyball set, as well as plenty of floaty options.
Out front we have created a sandy volleyball or badminton area for outdoor fun. With two natural gas grills, enjoy a family cook-out on the large 12’ x 23’ second story ocean facing deck with distant ocean views or bring your cookout to the pool deck which has its own gas grill.
Relax and cool down in the heated and cooled pool house with two sliding doors leading out to the pool deck. The pool house has a full bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen with a large refrigerator, gas oven and stackable W/D. Currently two day beds are set up in the pool house. Also in the pool house are a foosball and ping pong table along with a sitting area and 50” flat screen T.V. Pool house floors are finished concrete so don’t worry about wet sandy feet.
In the main house, for convenience we gave each bedroom its own efficient full bathroom with 32” x 48” shower. Three bedrooms have king beds, and one has a queen/twin XL bunk bed with a twin trundle. All 4 bedrooms have 32” wall mounted TVs. The upstairs living room has a 50” TV and a large sectional couch that turns into a King bed. Downstairs has a seating area with a 65” TV, washer/dryer and kitchenette/wet bar. Approximate square footage of the main house is 1650 S.F. and the pool house is approximately 520 S.F.
Blueberry Dunes has high speed internet, cable TV with Xfinity, 100+ channels and many board games for family game nights.


House rules
-This is a smoke free property, including all outside areas and buildings.
-We feel our guests will appreciate not finding cigarette butts on the property.
-The pool has an automatic cover that we require renters to keep closed any time the pool is unattended by an adult.
-Please do not walk on the pool cover as it can be damaged, and renters will be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement. Our pool cover currently would cost $20,000.00 to replace.
-There is a $100.00 fee for loss of pool cover key or failure to close the pool cover at check-out.
-We ask that glass is not brought to the pool deck and have silicone cups, bowls and plates, as an alternative.
-No diving is permitted into the pool.
-Please put the cover back on the fire pit when done.
-As a dog friendly property, we ask that renters clean up any mess their dog makes on the property. In addition, dogs are to be kept off all furniture, including beds.
-Fair warning - all of our neighbors are full time residents so groups who plan on having a very loud rambunctious time will not do well here. Our neighbors are all friends of ours and will call me to complain. If your group wants a rowdy spring break spot please do not rent this house - you may be asked to leave and loose your rental fee.
