Reviewer Comments: Perfect location - set up badminton in side yard all week, walk to everything needed and desired from coffee to beach to quiet walks, to walk out and play badminton. Nice distance to visit Suttons bay, Leland for fish, sleeping bear dunes and glen arbor.

Such a wonderful house in a perfect location! Great size for our big family and central air is a huge plus. It’s maybe a 1 minute walk to the main road but it feels like you’re very tucked away. We absolutely loved our stay here and highly recommend. Thank you!!

Our time here was delightful! The cottage exceeded our expectations when it came to charm and meeting our needs.The kitchen was well appointed and we loved eating outside on the covered porch. Location to all things Northport was perfect.Barbs for breakfast treats and ice cream at night!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is a very clean and well stocked place a quarter mile max from downtown Northport. We already discussed booking the same place next year. Walking distance to the Mitten Brewery and Tom’s grocery store. Bed were comfortable and bathrooms were very clean. The only downside is the smoke alarms went off sporadically through the night waking everyone. Finally I had to disconnect them in order to sleep. UP North offered to move us to a location close by, but we had small kids and unplugging them solved the issue. Overall, we had a wonderful time there.

The House That Helped Us "Find" Our Relatives

We came to Northport to search for evidences of our distant relatives and ancestors. 3 brothers and two of their wives, all in our 70s, made the trip to Michigan to look for them. We were not disappointed. The house was comfortable and cozy and fit our needs exactly. It was equipped for the five of us beyond our expectations. The location put us in the middle of family's late 1800s and early 1900s stomping grounds. The four bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and living areas of the house were the perfect staging areas for us to pour over books and family records and plan our days. Your house will forever be in the midst of our precious family memories. If ever we're back in Northport this is the house in which we want to stay.

We love being walking distance to the village as well as convenient to get to nearby towns and the water. The house was in great condition. Everything we needed to eat at home was provided. Just a couple recommendations, new shower curtains, and more thorough dusting. The window blinds and lamps We’re very dusty as well as the air return vent behind the console table where the TV is. We love staying there and look forward to our next visit.

Love the Northport Hideaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is great for a family vacation. It has Wi-Fi and AC, plus a TV you can use your own streaming services on. We love being able to walk around town and the harbor and beach. My only complaint this year is that the renters before us didn’t take the garbage can out and left it full of stinky trash. There were maggots in it. I think the cleaning crew should check that before the next renters arrive.

Cute, Clean, Quiet

The house was great! It was clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. We enjoyed the privacy of the yard and covered deck (although at least 3 people associated with the property or rental companly in some way showed up over the few days we were there). There is a nice creek running past, and it creates a relaxing atmosphere outside. The whole area in general is very nice - everthing is well taken care of and pretty all over Northern Michigan, not pretentious or manicured. We enjoyed it very much.

Great Location

We had a wedding to attend in Northport and found this house to be perfect! We loved the location; the property was just as described. It was clean, with starter soaps and paper goods, and lots of fresh towels. It was just two of us and we could easily have fit 8 more family members for sleeping as it stated, although the kitchen would have been tight. I loved being able to walk to everything and how peaceful and quiet the neighborhood was. It was fun to walk to the Bakery in the morning, over to the water's edge, shopping and restaurants. The only challenge is the steps and uneven path from the parking area. Anyone with mobility issues might have a challenge. I would definitely book this house again if we traveled that way in the future!

Perfect for everything Northport!

Reviewer Comments: We selected the Northport Village Hideaway because we knew past owners (owning 1960-2000), friends of our family (who have since passed away)! The home has been renovated in many ways which included adding a large upstairs master and full bath and outside deck area and improving the basement! I was thrilled to see that the floors still have that little uneven slope! We always laughed about that as kids! As a teenager, I wallpapered and painted the 2 small bedrooms upstairs! The home is very tastefully decorated with a nautical theme and had a fully stocked kitchen for preparing meals! I grew up spending summers in Northport with my family owning a log cabin cottage on North Shore Drive where the road turns to gravel on the water for 50 years. We sold this property (darn!) after my father passed away. The Hideaway is centrally located to walk to The Mitten, North Creek Golf Course, all the shopping downtown, Barb's, the harbor, Tom's Market and the Lake! We re-visited many places--Kehl Lake for hiking, Christmas Cove, Peterson Park and a few secret places that only our family knows about! Saw about 50 deer on drives right before sunset. Northport is a great Village and fun to go exploring! We hope to be back soon and we would definitely stay at this home!

This year the improved WiFi, new dishwasher and outside steps were great improvements (hope a hand rail will be added)! Not so much the new Roku TV. Northport Hideaway

We had the worse weather!! Rain and 50 degrees all week. Plus we had a 9 month old. This cottage saved our vacation. Very comfortable living room, beds were wonderful and the kitchen table was perfect for card games, close to downtown so stroller walks with the baby was perfect. I’d highly recommend this property.
