The Cottage is also within easy walking distance of the foodie and brew pub scenes on Newport and Galveston Avenues. Box Factory scene is 1.3 miles. Numerous upgrades, fresh interior paint. Cabinets repainted Nov. 2022. New Sofa Bed 2024. New mini split A/C and Heating system being installed August, 2025,

Excellent hosts and the cottage was so well appointed with everything you would want for a long-term stay. Don was always responsive to any questions or needs. Extremely quiet and cozy and we loved watching the deer and the quail visit!

The cottage was in immaculate condition and much roomier than the pictures suggested. Every detail has been thought through and the location was very convenient. Deer were in the garden almost every day. What a fabulous place!

Excellent!

Clean, comfortable and well appointed property with very responsive and respectful hosts! We had a wonderful stay. We walked from the cottage to restaurants, breweries, the ice cream shop and the trail along the river. I cooked dinner and breakfast in the cottage and all cookware and utensils were easy to find and in good repair. Highly recommend!

Great Location!

We had a wonderful stay! The location was ideal for walking to restaurants/breweries, stores and the river. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything you could need. Looking forward to our next weekend away in Bend!

2nd Street Cottage is an adorable and convenient place to stay in Bend, Oregon. It is clean, well organized, and comfortable. It had everything we needed. It is walking distance from the downtown square. Great suggestions on things to see and do were provided to us. The communication with host was excellent from booking through checkout. 10/10! Highly recommend!

Lovely extended stay

Wonderful extended stay while doing some short term work in Bend. Great access to down town, pleasant walks from the house, and a considerate host. Couldn't have asked for more.

3 Nights in Bend

For 2 of us, this cottage was perfect! It has everything you need and Don is a fantastic host. Very comfortable and clean and a great location. We even had deer hanging out with us in the back yard. Highly recommended if you are visiting Bend!

Don and Marline Ptacnik (say-Tack Nick) were married under the large White Birch located in the yard between The Cottage and their home. Years later, one of our daughters was also married in the yard. That ceremony took place on the small terrace just outside the Cottage. We love our home and the large yard (.25 acres+) within which the Cottage is located. Between us, we have three adult children and eight grandchildren. Marline is a retired health care executive and Don, your primary host is Marline's Gardener and Painter. We both enjoy people and sharing our secluded space in Downtown Bend. Don has lived in central Oregon for over 50 years and has participated in a number of activities which has provided him with a broad base of knowledge in the available outdoor opportunities. You are welcome to ask for suggestions ranging from the best hikes, automobile tours, bicycle trails/routes to the hidden jewels of coffee shops, museums and other cultural offerings. We want our guests to be pleasantly surprised by the luxury and charm of the Cottage, the grounds and of course, the overall experience. We recognize guests have numerous choices competing for their entertainment dollars and want to provide excellent value and a memorable experience. When every guest departs our goal is to hear them say ...”We will return and will recommend The Second Street Cottage to all our friends”. So far, so good!
