Relax and have fun with the whole family on the shores of Lake Missaukee. This five bedroom, three bath home features everything you need for the idyllic Northern Michigan getaway. Take in the views off the multi-level deck or at the end of the private dock. Hop in the kayaks or paddle board and explore the lake. Read a book or take a nap on the cozy loft or take in a movie on one of the seven TVs… Plenty of room and activity for the whole family - including two bunk rooms for the kids!

The cottage was in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views. It had plenty of room for us to enjoy a relaxing couple of days away. However, we found the hosts not very receptive when we had an issue with the hot tub. The hot tub had sand, dirt and grime in it. To us, it had a strong chemical smell. The day we got there we notified the hosts and they suggested that we clean the hot tub ourselves (with a partial refund implied). When we explained that we did not want to spend our vacation cleaning a hot tub, we were told “it takes about 10 minutes max”. The real question would then be, why was it never done in the first place. I was told I would get a partial refund for not being able to use the hot tub. Four days passed and nothing was issued. When I reached out to the host, she finally issued a small refund along with an unkind message.Needless to say, it is a nice place to stay for the scenery and location, but I’d take a 5 star host over location any day of the week. For your own peace of mind, AVOID THIS VRBO!!

Relaxing Getaway

We had a great time visiting this family cottage on the lake. It was a beautiful place with stunning views. The house was perfect for our family’s needs. We hope to visit again sometime!

Wonderful home on the Lake

We stayed a week for Spring Break and the home was exactly what we were looking for. Comfortable and welcoming with so much room for the family to spread out to find a quiet corner. The lakeview was serene with great outdoor space for relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and it had all the "home" items that we needed for the week. We certainly would stay here again when we come back to this area.

Lovely place to get away!

We came to Treehouse Cottage to get away for a while, this place was perfect! Had everything we needed, hot tub was lovely, everything in working order. Owner was responsive and helpful.

Fall getaway

The location was great for a family fall getaway. We loved the sunrises over the lake and the hot tub was a hit!
