This was our first time staying on the North Shore of Oahu. The area itself is absolutely beautiful, and we’ve always loved our time in Hawaii — this was our seventh visit, having stayed multiple times on Maui and Kauai. We chose this property because it accommodated our two families and offered oceanfront access. While the location is undoubtedly the highlight, the house itself is in need of significant updates to justify the high price point. The rental is marketed at a luxury level, but unfortunately, it falls short of that expectation. The management team was responsive and addressed a few issues during our stay, which we appreciated. However, the overall condition of the home left a lot to be desired. Access to the property involves using padlocks at both the gate and the house, which felt dated and inconvenient. The laundry is located outside, and we had to carry our luggage across the lawn to reach the entrance. The advertised sports court was in poor condition and essentially unusable. The beach directly in front of the house is rocky and not ideal for swimming — especially during our March stay when the waves were very strong.Carol, the host, was kind and helpful throughout, but there’s only so much she can do given the state of the property.Ultimately, we would not stay at this home again. It has potential due to its location, but it’s in serious need of renovation and modernization if it’s going to continue to be offered at premium rates.
