Great little historic rental centrally located in the "Gem of the Catskills," Windham, NY. Family friendly or a cozy little getaway for 2. Great place to use as home base for your mountain adventures!

Tucked away over a turn of the century barn this two bedroom rental will take you back to a simpler time and place. One comfy queen and one single bed accommodates your sleeping needs. Awaken to the rooster's crow and prepare your morning breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen. The separate dining and living area are bright and roomy. The full bathroom has an original claw foot tub.

This lovely getaway is located less than 2 miles from Windham Mountain and just 15 miles from Hunter Mountain. Area activities include skiing, snow shoeing, golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, nature trails (beautiful water falls), fishing, swimming, antiques, art galleries and much more. A short drive to Zoom Flume water park, local farm markets, Howe Caverns. An hours drive to Cooperstown.

Located in the the beautiful Northern Catskill Mountains, this quaint, cozy getaway though situated in the Catskill Park area of the Catskill Mountains has access to all the activities you need to make your vacation memorable. From winter activities such as skiing, snow tubing and snow shoeing to summertime activities such as World Class golf, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, antiquing, local farm markets, festivals, leaf peeping, breathtaking waterfalls and more, you have found the perfect location to plan your holiday from! Windham has some of the best eateries available...Walk to 4 star Italian Restaurant (Vesuvio) or enjoy a hearty old fashioned breakfast at Nana Gail's a short drive to Higher Grounds or Windham Local coffee shops, pizzerias, Michael's Diner, Chicken Run family restaurant, Lily’s Steakhouse , Taphouse and many more ! All area information and activities brochures available by request.

Trailways bus comes right through the main road so transport from the city is available. There are local cab services throughout the mountaintop all hours.

Weekday rate is 97.00 per night for 2 adults. No charge for children. Weekend nights (Friday Sat) are 110.00 per night for 2 adults. Two night minimum. Holiday weeks (Dec 24 through Jan 3 have a 3 night minimum) Memorial Day, Labor Day and Columbus Day weekends . $10.00 per night per adult for extra adult. Will consider early check in/late check out if available.

This was our second time staying. Cynthia is a great host. Th ehouse has everything you need. There are so many great hiking spots nearby and there are plenty of places to eat and get what you want nearby.

What a lovely experience! My pup and I stayed for the weekend for a wedding across the street at the Henson -- it was the perfect spot. We felt very at home here and Cynthia was a dream. Absolutely hoping to come back!

Lovely Apartment

My son and I stayed here for a weekend and Windham and it was absolutely perfect. The apartment was clean and well maintained and the location was great. Highly recommended.

So cozy,I love this place

Cynthia is a great hostess and everything was perfect! We love the decor and the treats left for us. This was our second stay and probably won't be our last. It is so peaceful and Cynthia is very helpful and kind.

Catskills hiking trip

Beautiful area, nice little town with everything you need. Great hiking. Host is very friendly and helpful. Vrbo make writing a review impossible on a phone since you can't see what you're typing after the first two lines or i would expand on how great the area is.

5 stars! Home away from home

We loved our stay at Cynthia's so much that we extended it. The place is so cozy and comfortable. Everything we needed was there plus some very thoughtful extras. The vintage farmhouse decor is so sweet and homey and our dog loved meeting the chickens who inspired it as well.Cynthia's hospitality and communication were exceptional and we enjoyed a very relaxing time away. Cynthia is so nice, we felt like we were staying with family. Can't wait to go back!

Another great stay!

We came back for our second time. We love it! We love the chickens, we named one Elvis / Fancy Pants. The fresh eggs were great, the gift in the fridge was unexpected, thank you. We look forward to the next visit. Thank You p.s. we always look to see if the cat is in your window, to greet us.

Spacious and Cozy

Cute, cozy, and spacious. We enjoyed relaxing in the family room/game room at night. The host thought of every amenity possible and there was no shortage of anything needed for our stay. The town is quiet and we didn't hear any cars going by. Perfect location for hiking as there were a number of different trail heads nearby. Loved seeing the chickens every day and the host kindly gave us fresh eggs! Would definitely come back.

Wonderful Cottage - Country Charm & Easy Access to Restaurants

We had a wonderful weekend at this charming getaway. The rooms and on-site amenities were charming, clean, and very comfortable. Both nights we opted to eat locally (across the street & down the block) - both were awesome choices and a surprising treat - excellent food and service at both places. Cynthia was a wonderful hostess and made us feel very comfortable with lots of starter items in the pantry. We really enjoyed the nearby chicken coop - all the charm of a farm without having to do any work (no smell whatsoever). We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Great space and location. Felt like a sublet/housesitting -- apartment was very well-stocked with kitchen items, dvds, games, and very comfortable living room/tv room and beds. Honestly, though, watching our chicken neighbors was more entertaining! Place was immaculately clean -- blankets and cozies everywhere, but all of them seemed freshly cleaned (no dust, no must), and bathroom was spotless. French shower takes a bit of finagling to manage, but within a day we'd managed, and you should bring drinking water if you're not accustomed to "mountain water." Check-in and -out was uncomplicated and without the massive checklists and hoops to jump through you get with some vrbos. Location is great -- I drove less on this trip than other Catskill vacations because you're right in between Windham and Hunter/Tannersville. If you were so inclined, you could walk to Windham Path in 30 minutes! Fine dining at Matilda is just across the street, so a driving-free cocktail night is close at hand! Even Phoenicia is not too far afield. Lots of great hikes (Diamond Notch, Becker Hollow, Burnt Knob/Acra Point) within twenty minutes. Will be coming back!

Place is adorable and very comfortable had everything you might need during you stay. Wish Roku worked right. Probably need to wash the shower curtains with bleach. Other than the tv, shower curtain and husband hitting his head every time he walked out the door (he's 6ft) we loved it

Characterful and quiet

We enjoyed our short stay, the property is old (as in historic) with a few loose handles and drippy taps but it had a calm and homely vibe. There's enough indoor space so you shouldn't get cabin fever if the weather is bad. Its close to the windham high peak trails so perfect base for that. 7 minute drive to the worlds most expensive groceries in windham if you havent brought your own food. Decent coffee available at higher grounds 5 mins away

QUIET UPSTATE GETAWAY

The property was clean, homey, fully equipted with just the right amount of eccentricity. Lovely garden which was made available to us - as was Cynthia and her son. great stay and I hope we'll see them again next year!

Cynthia is terrific

Cynthia was a wonderful host. Everything was clean and comfortable, with lots of thoughtful extras, like pillows, blankets, nice things for the kitchen. She was very easy to reach and immediately responded to little things we needed. The dozen fresh eggs from the chickens were an extra treat. Highly recommended.

Excellent cozy cottage

Loved this cozy, clean cottage. We even got a dozen eggs upon arrival from the back yard chickens. Fully stocked. Very helpful and friendly owner. Love this place.

I'm a Jersey girl who always wanted to live in the country. Well here I am. Been here for over 30 years and have found my niche in the service industry. I own a property management business and would ultimately love to run a bed and breakfast.

I have a passion for old homes....I've always had an appreciation for the workmanship and care that used to go into building these gorgeous abodes. I love the resourcefulness of those days gone by when people had to get by with much less than we have today yet didnt sacrifice quality and craftsmanship. This home was passed down in my family and was built by my son's great grandmother's uncle. She used to take in borders to supplement her teacher's salary of 38 dollars per month. I've included pictures and documents in the informational binder and hope you find it as interesting as I do.

This property is nestled in a quiet little township of Windham yet just a short drive to hiking trails, gorgeous waterfalls, golf and ski area and a host of other activities. When your day is done and its time for dinner just freshen up and then stroll across the road to experience some of the finest 4 star Italian cuisine on the mountain or take a few more steps to Hammos brew pub where you can enjoy great food and live music on the weekends OR enjoy your meal in prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. Finish off the evening enjoying a campfire by the garden pergola.
