Experience authentic farm life at Rendleman Orchards, a 150-year-old family farming tradition in Alto Pass, IL. Your cozy, remodeled farm cottage is nestled among 800 acres of orchards and woodlands, offering a perfect blend of rural charm and modern comfort.

Lovely Stay

The setting of this well appointed cottage is just lovely. The cottage is fully equipped with anything you might need, plus there are all kinds of fun extras like classic albums and stereo, an outside grill and seating area, and a pond you can gaze at from a private porch swing. We loved being nestled among the peach trees and visiting the chicken coop in the morning. The beds are very comfortable and the “convenient store” is a great feature. We look forward to staying here again since our daughter just graduated from SIU and has landed her first job in the Carbondale area!

Anniversary stay

We didn't realize there would be no shade, so due to weather, wasn't able to be outside much. The kitchen was not as clean as I would have liked. Counter tops and stove had to be wiped before used. Someone's leftover food was left over in dirty microwave. Telescope was not able to be used due to lack of instructions. Overall, loved the cottage, reading the farm history and the homey feel. We were very impressed with the amenities! The property host was very reachable!

Wayne and Michelle are 5th generation owner/operators of the 150 year old farm. They believe locally grown food, sharing farming practices and providing beautiful spaces to connect people with family farms will bind people to the American farm families and their contributions to feeding our country. They have come to learn good food creates community, extended family and togetherness.

This property is managed by Southern Illinois Vacation Rentals, a veteran-owned, woman-owned business. Allison, owner of SIVR, is an SIUC alumna and has a deep love for the hospitality industry and showcasing beautiful southern Illinois.

Tour the Farm Grounds- Wander through the orchards, enjoy a stroll through the flower fields when in bloom, or admire the historic barns that have stood the test of time.

Visit the Farm Market - Shop seasonal produce like juicy peaches, crisp apples, and locally made goods from the region's finest artisans and makers, summer and fall.

Cut Your Own Flowers- In the warmer months, guests are invited to enjoy the U-Pick Flower Fields, where you can cut your own fresh bouquet straight from the field.

Collect Eggs- Visit the on-site chicken coop and gather your own fresh eggs each morning. (Beginning July)

Pondside Peach- Sip coffee on the porch swing overlooking the pond or throw a line in and see what bites.

Golf Cart Exploring- Add-on the four-seater golf cart to explore the farm grounds and discover tucked-away photo spots or quiet places to watch the sunset.

Evenings by the Fire- Wind down around the fire pit under the stars. Clear country skies and a provided telescope make this a stargazer's dream.
