Location, View, Sand, Water, What More Do You Need!

Claudine was a very good host!Overall 4.75 starsGreat location, awesome view, white sandy beach, beautiful water. Playacar1 is a gated community with 24/7 security. We felt very secure, and the neighbor was quiet. It is a 15-minute walk to an upscale mall. Exiting the mall brings you to 5th Avenue! Maria, the housekeeper, does an excellent job keeping the place tidy and clean. The house is beginning to show its age. A lot of the metal objects are pitted from the salt air. The sliding doors were hard to move. PAM on the tracks did the trick. The Wi-Fi to be good, even on the patio. Air conditioning units and ceiling fans worked well. The kitchen appliances work. The quality of the fry pans/cooking utensils made it a challenge to even cook eggs/bacon/sausage for breakfast. No toaster or toaster oven. We ate out most meals.The bedrooms are quiet, beds are firm and comfortable. Attached bathrooms were fine with good water pressure. Patio is about 6’ above the beach with steep uneven concrete steps. With no railing, it can be a little challenging going up and down. The photos show a wooden bar. That is replaced with a nice cushioned sofa and table. There is a grill. However, it is an old and rusted. There are two nice community tennis courts located in the complex. The courts are not lined for pickleball.Overall, we really liked the property, and we all agreed we would come back again. It is the view and location that wins the day!

Fabulous, fantastic and fun!

This is one of the very finest houses in Playa del Carmen both inside and out. To top it off, Claudine (our host) kept in touch with us to ensure a great stay. Maria, our caretaker, is the best of the best! She is a great cook and I highly recommend her to anyone staying! The Casa Marmol is a true gem and unbelievably beautiful! Many thanks to Claudine and Maria!

We had a great trip at Casa Marmol! Maria, our housekeeper, was great, as well as the propert manager, Claudine. The view was amazing the second you walk out the door. Everything was as described and shown in the listing. Thank you for the stay!

Perfect for small family

Excellent location, beautiful home, easy check-in, etc. Daily cleaning, grocery shopping, etc was great. Easy walk into Playa Del Carmen if ever needed.

Playa Del Carmen for the win!

100% enjoyed being here. The property is fantastic. The beach and the view are fantastic! Maria the in house chef/ cleaning person took wonderful care of us and came as often or as little as we wanted... Also the food she makes is amazing. Downtown Playa is fantastic with a so much to see do and eat. Loved it. We will be booking another trip here with our children.

Everything was absolutely perfect! It was beautiful they cleaned every day they have recommendations for everything! Maria will even cook for you. And the host is so flexible with check ins. Couldn’t have been more perfect.

Great location

We came here with a group on friends. There were 6 of us in total. We enjoyed our stay at the beach house. I want to list the pros and cons. Pros: The location. It’s on a public beach and walkable to town. It is a public beach so expect people to be on the beach in front of the house. The house was comfortable enough for a group of 8. Maria the housekeeper/cook was very attentive and made whatever we wanted. Cons: The hot water is minimal. We took mostly cold showers. There are not enough towels provided for groups. The bed linens and towels need a refresh. There aren’t any paper products or hand towels provided so make sure you ask ahead of time. Bring your own shampoo etc.. The pictures online are A bit misleading as there has been a house built next to this house since the pics were taken. The pool is shaded and is not beach front. The house overall is nice and the location is great! We enjoyed our stay

Fantastic Beach Casa and Great Host

The property, host Claudine, and house manager/cleaner Maria are fantastic. The property is a ~20 min walk to town and the pictures are accurate (except there is another house located on the other side now and there are sliding doors to the beach; neither of which an issue/detraction at all) so what's not to love. We are a family of 6 and had lots of space. I arranged with Claudine to have food there for our arrival to include Maria cooking meat and fish tacos (yummy!). The beach location is great as it is between several resorts if you want to do sailing or even ski diving. And the beach was not crowded directly in front of her place. Perfect. Thank you Claudine and Maria (and your help) for a great vacation.

Absolutely fantastic

When you walk thru the door, I guarantee your jaw will drop. Incredibly laid out, literally right on the water, in a subdivision/gated community that feels like it’s from a fairy tale. Very short distance to great food and nightlife. Great spot for a golf trip too. This is where you want to unwind after a long day in Mexico.

Girls weekend

A group of 8 of us stayed here for 3 nights and it was wonderful. We got great recommendations from Host Claudine and she was very quick to respond to us about our questions. While staying at the property, Maria was our housekeeper and she was super nice and made sure to get us everything we needed. It was an absolute pleasure and I recommend to anyone that wants to go to Mexico but doesn’t want the all inclusive resort vibe.

Amazing Villa on ocean

We are a family of eight and really enjoyed the property. We used Claudine’s house manager Maria and her son to help us with shopping and breakfasts. Claudine was very accommodating pre-arrival making sure we had all foods, beverages and other amenities. Maria was really sweet and very accommodating. If we needed something she would organize someone to buy it for us and bring to the house. We also had a private chef for two nights and the chefs said kitchen was well equipped. Our weather was perfect first five days and last day it rained all day. Recommendation if you are looking at forecast and it says rain 60 % or more then do cenotes as an activity since your wet anyways. Highly recommend this property

This place is great.

I locked myself out of the house late on a Sunday night. I made contact and they had another key to me within minutes. That alone deserves a 5 star. The house was great. The location was great. The service was great. Maria is especially great. I would book again.

We really enjoyed our stay!! Claudine's communication was great. She was very informative and helpful with all the questions I asked. She recommended Chef Daveed for our meals and grocery shopping services. His staff was amazing, and all the food was excellent! The house is right on the beach, which was the best thing for a group of people. The neighborhood was absolutely stunning and only a short mile walk into town. The house shows some wear, but it was very clean and comfortable.

Great trip

Our family of four, two adults and two college kids, had a great time. Claudine is responsive and helpful, and we highly recommend scheduling Maria to cook for several days. She makes excellent pico, guacamole, chicken and steak tacos, rice, beans, and enchiladas Verdes. It was plenty for a hearty lunch and there were always leftovers for dinner. Maria’s daily housekeeping and the days she cooked allowed us to fully relax and reconnect. One thing I would do differently is provide a list of basic grocery items in advance so they were at the house upon arrival. By the time we got settled, the last thing we wanted to do was go fight weekend crowds at the local supermarket. Avoid Walmart at all costs - hit the superstore across from El Fogon (forget the name) as it’s 1000% nicer, more organized and better stocked. Maria cooked the day we arrived, and it was heaven to walk into a deliciously prepared feast after a long day of travel. As other reviewers noted, the beach front is narrow and people can/do set up camp close to the end of the patio, so be aware. We loved the hammock and built in outdoor sofa. There is a brand new house that’s been built butting up to the pool’s left side. Even though it’s hot during the day, we were surprised at how cool the water remained, and wondered if that’s because the pool no longer gets full sunshine with the new build. We opened the entire wall of sliding doors first thing in the morning to enjoy the seamlessness between house/beach that the pictures promise - it was even better than expected! Recommend renting bikes from Roberto, dinner at Don Mario’s and Yum Yum (Thai), and jet skis (rental stand 2 houses down). The property shows it’s age a bit, but did not detract from our trip. The gated neighborhood felt safe and secure, with the hustle and bustle of shops, restaurants, etc, easy to walk or bike to every day. There is a wonderful walk-in COVID test site right outside the gate that was convenient and easy to navigate. All in all, we highly recommend and appreciate Claudine and Maria making our Christmas break so special!

Perfect home for 3 couples!

Claudia is very responsive and helpful, the home is perfectly laid out for several couples or families, the views are gorgeous, the house is as pictured, and we enjoyed our stay tremendously! The week includes a daily maid service which was very nice. It was the perfect break from our crazy lives. I would highly recommend this rental.

Relaxing Beach House

So BEAUTIFUL!

This property is incredible! My best friends and I booked this house for my bachelorette and it was everything and more. We were shocked by how beautiful it really was in person both inside and out. The pool was super clean, and cold. The white sand is below the house with steps to the beach. Yeah there was some seaweed on shore, but once you swim past it, there are sandbars of clear blue water that is easily standable. The rooms were really clean, same with the bathroom, no issues there. Kitchen was handy, we were missing garbage bags and soap for the dishwasher was the only issue. The cleaning service (thank you Maria and seniorita) cleaned up the kitchen everyday and tidied around the house. Maria also helped us with multiple taxi's, just the sweetest. The wifi was iffy here and there, but honestly we didn't care because we were hardly on our phones. 5 beds were perfect for me and my 7 girls. Only thing that was difficult is finding the place with the taxi cabs (like 5 times we got lost). The address didnt match up in our GPS system or the taxi service. Best advice is to tell your taxi driver Playacar Fase 1, (NOT fase 2), and once at the security gate, there is a gentleman that can tell the taxi service where to go (or will lead you there), just make sure you mention your in "Casa Marmol". Easy to get lost over there! Overall, amazing house and experience, would def do again with a group of friends or family. Stunning property, and 20 mins walk on the beach to town.

Amazing Home

We were not disappointed when we checked into Casa Marmol. The neighborhood was beautiful and the house was amazing! Maria felt like a life-time friend and made our stay so welcoming. Claudine was there for all our questions. The house came with two bikes and was one of the highlights of our trip. We enjoyed riding bikes into town for groceries and enjoyed riding through the beautiful neighborhood. The open living space that led to the outdoor living space was amazing. There had been recent renovations to the outdoor patio with a beautiful outdoor couch under the pergola. Relaxing in the hammock and listening to the ocean was a dream. Despite the hot weather, the pool was cool and very relaxing. Claudine helped us set up private chef service with Chef Daveed, massages at Casa Marmol and had someone come out to us for our Covid test that were required to return to the US. This house is amazing and we definitely want to return.
