Cute place, clean, well stocked with the basics. Beds are very comfortable. The view is fantastic. Its quiet, secluded, and peaceful. I loved the kitchen. I found myself wishing some of the windows had curtains or drapes. The furniture was a bit dated, i was wanting a more substantial couch. Overall 9/10

Incredible property! It was perfect. Everything in the house was as beautiful as advertised and we especially enjoyed the back deck with the mountain view and easy to use fire pit. I only have high praise for the whole experience and would rent this place again in a second.

Hiking in SNP

Whispering Winds is wonderfully relaxing home! The view from the back of the house is incredible, balconies from every room to enjoy your morning and listen to birds singing. There are 100’s of books to relax with, movies, or just enjoy the serenity. The house was impeccably clean and decorated beautifully. The home is stocked with a few essentials, enough to get you through the week. Communication with the host was great and we never had any issues. Beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms are spaced so that everyone can have privacy with a view. Whispering Winds is a great place to stay for your visit to the area or just to relax and enjoy time away from everything. I would definitely recommend this home and hope to enjoy a stay there again in the future.

Lovely Get Away

Whispering Winds is a beautiful property; far above many rental properties we have stayed at. The pictures posted are accurate. We appreciated the 2 master suites on the same level. The kitchen is very well equipped making it easy to cook our full meals on site. Considering the distance to restaurants we are glad we did. The owners live next door and were helpful for questions. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay at Whispering Wind again!

Relaxing getaway

We hoped to escape the city (DC) for a few days and relax with stunning scenery, and Whispering Winds delivered! The hosts were very responsive. We've definitely found the place that we will return to, hopefully soon! The house was stocked with everything that we needed.

Amazing property - our second stay

Just a spectacular property and the owners are very quick at communicating. We loved it so much that we came back for a second stay a month later. Everything is perfect at this property. Close to the National Park and Front Royal when you want to venture out. Don't hesitate to stay here at this property.

Hiking and Hanging out!

We had a lovely stay in this clean, comfortable home. We went hiking in Shenandoah and the nearby trail. We took a day to explore Strasburg and Winchester. We mostly enjoyed the beautiful view and playing games and chatting by the fire. The hosts were kind and were available to answer any questions and to offer hiking and restaurant suggestions.

Great Location with a few notes

My friends and I loved the location & views of this property. It truly was beautiful and convenient to get to from Front Royal! The only two down sides were the smelly well water (well water that looked orange/yellow in the toilet & sink and smelled like sulfur) and the hosts coming over multiple times. They came over to re-iterate headcount and remind us that parties were not allowed. We weren't throwing any parties and were just having a low key weekend away with a few friends, so we were kind of surprised and confused by this. The hosts were not aggressive, but it did kind of put a damper on the weekend when they showed up unexpectedly and made us feel as if we were doing something wrong or breaking the rules. I would still recommend this place as a nice getaway, but would also tell guests to be aware that the host may show up unannounced. Just trying to give a fair and accurate perspective based on our experience.

Lovely getaway

We spent a weekend exploring the Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns and Front Royal. Lots of good food and music in Front Royal (try Try Thai), and a helpful visitors center. The best part though was being at the house enjoying the the fireplace, especially the fire pit on the deck, and the bay window both overlooking the valley!

Beautiful weekend in the mountains.

What a perfect way to spend the weekend with our family. We had everything we needed, a perfect setting, to spend quality time with our children. The quiet beauty of the mountains surrounding, coupled with a brief overnight snow provided a picturesque morning coffee backdrop. We enjoyed every moment and definitely wanted to stay longer.

Peaceful Stay With Spectacular View

We spent a wonderful 4 days at this Shenandoah home. It’s close enough to Front Royal to be able to grab a meal, but far enough away to forget there is anything but the mountains surrounding you.

Fall Getaway

Great place to stay. We loved the location which was central to many historical sites that we visited. The fall colors were wonderful. The home is very clean and well appointed. We would certainly recommend and return if the opportunity presents itself. It a nice quiet place to stay.

Superb home and hospitality

Their home was a modern comfortable mountain getaway. We enjoyed beautiful views off the deck from early morning to well into the evening. And their hospitality was attentive and exceptional. We loved our stay and would go back in a minute.

Having traveled extensively for the military, we now teach at a local community college and are avid hikers. We love our community and the outdoors so much we wanted to share it with others. We are now proud to offer Whispering Winds for families and friends to gather in the mountains to revel in the starlit skies, to enjoy the River, the hiking, the farm markets, the quaint country festivals and especially to relax and get away from it all. We wanted people to be able to enjoy a full weekend in the area, so keeping the travel time of 90 minutes from DC was very important to us. This property gives travelers a quick get a way to a serene mountain retreat.
