Welcome to Tideswell! Just blocks from the beach and an easy walk to the park, Mason Avenue shops, cafés, and restaurants, this beautifully restored historic home makes it effortless to relax, reconnect, and explore.

With extra-large bedrooms (3 king, 1 queen, 2 singles) and 3.5 bathrooms, everyone has room to spread out—and privacy when they want it.

• A pet gate is provided to block stairs for smaller pups
• Please clean up after your pet—bags & outdoor bins provided

We fell in love with Cape Charles the way you do with places that feel like they’ve been waiting for you. There’s something special here — the small-town charm, the historic streets, the welcoming front porches, and the way time seems to slow down the minute you cross the bridge.

Cape Charles has a way of bringing people together. You’ll see families riding bikes to the beach, kids eating ice cream on Mason Avenue, neighbors chatting over morning coffee, and sunsets that make everyone stop what they’re doing just to soak in the view. It reminded us of the kind of vacations we loved growing up — simple, joyful, full of memories that don’t need much more than sand, sun, and good company.

We chose this home because it reflects everything we love about the town — historic character, big porches made for conversation, room for family and friends, and a location that lets you walk everywhere that matters. The beach is just blocks away, the shops and restaurants are around the corner, and the park is close enough for morning strolls and evening playtime.

Many Cape Charles homes are charming but small. Ours gives you both: the original architecture, tall windows, pocket doors, and wraparound porch paired with extra-large bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms so everyone can have privacy and comfort.

With two separate living rooms, a formal dining room, and a sunny breakfast room, you can gather as a group — or let different pockets of fun happen all at once. Game night in one room, cocktails on the porch… it all works.

In Cape Charles, porches are a way of life. Our sprawling wraparound front porch, screened-in side porch, and kitchen sunporch give you morning coffee with birdsong and sunset cocktails with salty breezes. Guests tell us these spaces are where their best vacation memories happen.

The third floor offers a cozy TV/lounge area and “bunk room”, giving kids their own sense of space and adventure — while adults enjoy the evening downstairs or outside.

If you love cooking on vacation, you’ll appreciate this: a well-equipped, gourmet kitchen with one of the few gas stoves in town. It’s made for shared meals and big conversations.

Relax under the pergola, grill dinner outdoors, gather around the firepit, or let the dog enjoy the shade while you unwind. It’s a rare amount of private outdoor space this close to the beach and downtown.

Blocks from the beach, steps to the park, and a short stroll to Mason Avenue — no cars needed. You can live like a local: morning bakery runs, evening ice cream walks, and sandy feet all day long.
