With unobstructed views of the ocean in the front and the estuary to the back you are surrounded by water and nature, glimpsing birdlife and taking in the most amazing sunsets.
The cottage, location and setting is truly a glimpse back in time. The cottage is original to the Great Hill neighborhood amongst other modest cottages for a truly authentic Kennebunk vibe.
The public beaches are right down the road and we made a point to visit all of them. Our favorite was actually a private beach Palmers, a nice stretch of white sand and space to spread out, which you can see from the cottage. I would also suggest Goose Rocks Beach in Cape Porpoise - what fun!
Both Kennebunk and Kennebunkport are only a couple miles in either direction from the cottage. Kennebunk is lovely, you’ll see historic estates and find all your necessities like a grocery store, pharmacy, etc. Kennebunkport has it all - restaurants most with waterviews, art galleries and beachy tourist shops (traps). We dined out most nights - Bastons is perfect for a rainy day, reminded me of pubs in Ireland. We loved Hurricane, food was excellent with beautiful water views. You most try the fried clams at the Clam Shack - they are famous for a reason!
There are many trails and sites to take in - Parsons Way is a great one - set along the rocky bluffs with majestic views.
It was a perfect vacation, we wish it was longer. Thank you for sharing your charming cottage with our family Beth!
