As you mentioned, we were hit by a historic '100-year' cold weather event that was highly abnormal for Rodanthe. Temperatures crashed into the low 20s, with wind chills plummeting to sub-zero levels. Because our condo and many other island properties are elevated, the pipes were left exposed to these extreme conditions. This wasn't a localized issue; in fact, 90% of service calls along the coast during this storm were for frozen pipes, as local infrastructure simply wasn't designed for such an intense arctic blast. We have invested a lot of time into making this condo one of the best at the property, and our guests' comfort is our absolute priority. This is why we made it a point to be available 24/7 and provided a refund for the inconvenience. We have already taken extra measures to ensure the property is even better prepared for any future weather surprises.
