New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

Step back in time in this 60s beach cottage only four houses from the beach! This home was the first home built on the cul-de-sac and is the perfect place for a relaxing family vacation. It has all the amenities you would expect from a modern home, including central AC, streaming, a deck, and an outdoor shower for those who want to get clean before returning inside. There is also access to the beach nearby, so you can enjoy the water between your adventures inside.

The living area provides guests with a comfortable spot to stream their favorite movies or series. The beautiful kitchen has all the essentials to whip up delicious homemade meals, including a dishwasher for additional assistance when it's time to clean everything up. Enjoy your meals at the four-person dining table. This is also a great place to gather when it's time to play to any of the board games available for indoor fun. Additional amenities include a private washer/dryer so you and your friends can pack less.

Please Note: As a barrier island, Hatteras is constantly changing. Beach conditions, dunes, and access points may vary due to erosion, restoration projects, weather, and other environmental factors.

The pictures of the listing show a rooftop deck, but access to it was removed at some point in the past. A washer and dryer were both present; I didn't have a need to use the washer, but the dryer was non-operational when we checked in. None of these were deal breakers, it's an older honest house with AC that was able to keep up with the heat and humidity. Beach access is easy with a public walkway at the end of the cul-de-sac.

Quintessential Beach Cottage

This beach house was the perfect beach cottage for our family. Close to the beach, and walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants. The house was clean upon arrival, check-in was a breeze, communication from Vacasa was great. Absolutely no complaints! We’ll be back!

Very cute, quaint and comfortable place to stay in the heart of Avon. Given the age of the place, the AC struggled to keep up first, but the house eventually cooled off and we had all of the main amenities to be comfortable. Thanks for letting us stay!

Great Location!

Excellent April vacation. Very quiet, safe, and just a few steps to the beach. Highly recommend. Lots of space inside for 2 families. The bedroom wings, both with full baths makes privacy easy.

Great place to stay with our dog. 5 min walk to the beach. The beach wasn’t crowded at all. 5 min walk to breakfast, lunch, dinner, and ice cream all next to each other. Beach chairs and umbrella in shed. Would stay there again.

Great location

This house has a great location on a beach that was practically empty (even on the 4th of July)! You zig-zag over the dune to the beach, so the walk is a bit longer than you think, but still not bad. The house is nothing to get excited about, but we spent most of our time on the beach. It was clean, and more than adequate for the little time we spent indoors. The shed in the yard has lots of “beach stuff” that our kids enjoyed (boogie boards, sand toys, etc). The street is quiet and friendly.

Great Getaway!!

House was very clean! All needed cooking supplies in kitchen, sheets, towels, etc! Perfect for friends and family that are there to relax, cook good food, spend time at the beach and have their pups with them. No extra frills, which was perfect for us!! We will definitely be back :)

3 old men went fishing and had the storm that produced rough seas and not good fishing. We did enjoy the house and the location. We will see you next year!

Great house and location

Everything was really nice and clean, though we kept having issues with the AC. I would changed it to ON since the house was really hot, but i would find it after 2 hours, being off and the temp i set it to was higher than what i had set (69 ac).

Great location!

The location makes this property. Quick 5 minute walk to beach, or restaurants. Furniture could definitely be upgraded, but it was serviceable. Bathrooms could be a bit cleaner/nicer, but they worked. My biggest complaint is that what appeared to be a rooftop deck wasn’t accessible. I think that should be explicitly stated in the listing.

Great holiday rental

On arrival we found the home to be well maintained and very clean. It is an older home but it was comfortable. Furnishings were comfortable including the master bed, which is not always the case. We chose this property because of the good reviews, dog friendly, and the lower building height. Our old dog can no longer handle the high staircases that are common. Beach access is a short walk nearby. The neighborhood was quiet. The grocery store and several restaurants are nearby. I’d recommend this rental and please pick up after your pets.

Avon get away

It was a nice location., short drive to Avon pier. Very comfortable and homey like. Would like to have control of temperature myself because it was a little chilly in the house with A/C on. Called and they adjusted it.. I am a cold natured person😊. All on all a nice place to stay.

The house itself and location was wonderful and it was very clean. Just a couple small problems when we arrived the oven didn't work and it never got fixed while we were there and two of the rooms had TVs, but didn't work so if u aren't going to have cable or a way for your guests to watch TV in the bedrooms then maybe there shouldn't be TV's in there. All in all it wasn't a bad place to stay

Only 1 tv worked ,dryer didn't work dead spiders in bathroom tub.smelled like mold. I spent last 2 months with vrbo in the village of nags head and it was great...Avon cottage was not so good.
