This home enjoys an unbeatable oceanfront location in the center of Isle of Palms. The beach is mere steps from your back porch, and you're within three blocks of a variety of shops, restaurants, cafes, and live entertainment. Rent a bike to venture out and explore the island, or head three miles northeast to rent a jet ski, a stand-up paddleboard, or a kayak at the Isle of Palms Marina. Downtown Charleston - with its renowned restaurants, rich culture, and historic architecture - is also just 13 miles inland.

Location best thing going for it.

Location wonderful however the house is a worn rental that would benefit from maintenance updates. Two examples - fix the mildew closet in primary bedroom and replace the dryer. Not sure how a dryer could have so much rust. The just must have endured multiple water damage that was marginally repaired.

Fabulous location!

This lovely home was spacious with stunning views throughout. The 4 separate sleeping areas and 4 bathrooms made our stay very convenient for all. We all agreed - we'd be glad to stay here again!

Reunion of close friends

We loved the location of this property. We ver much enjoyed sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs visiting and loving the sound and view of the ocean. Great location, close to restaurants and grocery store. There were a couple of issues, however. There was very little hot water in the twin bedroom downstairs. My biggest problem was we received the door code 24 hrs earlier as we expected, but when we arrived the code didn’t work. There are 2 boxes and it was unclear which to use. We tried each several times and had to call customer support. They changed the code again and we got in. Why not consider a coded lock on the door. We have stayed in several VRBOs where that was done and it was so easy. All in all, it was a lovely long weekend walking on the beach and visiting. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home.

No hot water in downstairs bathrooms

The property is obviously in a great location. The property could stand to be updated given the price I paid. The downstairs bathrooms did not have hot water. I called to report it. I believe the calls are outsourced. I was told that it was not an included amenity.

Wonderful stay!

We came for a little family getaway and absolutely loved the location! Waking up to the beautiful sunrise each morning and strolling along the beach that was right off the deck was perfect! We’ll be back for sure!

Amazing beachfront stay

This house is in a great location. Front beach, shops and restaurants a short walk away. The layout of the home is perfect. Comfortable beds and sofas. New smart tv in the living room. Great front porches with ample seating. The front beach location is priceless. We had some issues with the hot water, my guess management will take care of that soon. This is definitely a classic beach house, don’t expect everything to be brand new. But it was nicer than we expected. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful house with wonderful beachfront views.

My family loved the convenience of this home. Directly on the beach. We enjoyed having evening meals on the porch while we watched the sunset. We spotted dolphins swimming about the ocean while we sipped our morning coffee. Great family vacation.

Excellent Location

This home is a great location on the Isle of Palms. It is within walking distance to restaurants. We absolutely loved the porch with a large table and chairs and rocking chairs. We spent a lot of time there. The distance from the house to the beach was short which was very nice with small children. The beds were comfortable. The house was very roomy. We will definitely stay here again.

Mice infested beds

When we arrived and opened up the pull out beds in the bedrooms there was a considerable amount of mouse feces and it was was clear they had been nesting in two mattress. I was surprised because the answer from management wasn’t I am so sorry we will get you a new mattress. I insisted on a new mattress. She wanted to clean it off and let my child sleep on it. I refused. She took the mattress and assured me they would bring a new one. When I went up to put my son in the bed she had covered the same mattress with a bed bug cover. I called her and I found myself arguing with someone about how it is not clean even with a bedbug cover and would not have my child sleep on the same mattress. She had deliberately tried to deceive me. By then it was 10 pm. I requested that they bring a new mattress the next day. Still no apology, nothing. They brought a blowup mattress and I moved on and had a great trip. I am 100% sure that after we left they put back the same mouse infested mattress with a bed bug cover and left it for the next person. Two of the children’s pull out beds had mouse droppings. All three beds are deteriorating, old and dirty. They are advertised in the listing and not useable. For a person to insist that having a child sleep in a bed that has had a rodent living in it even with a cover is appalling to me. I am so over isle of palms and I have been coming here for 40 years. Overpriced and not worth it.

Location & Views 10/10

The house was in a great location. The beach just steps out the back door was beautiful. You can walk to bars, restaurants, and grocery as well get Ubers quickly to go off the island. The house was spacious for 3 couples. As many other reviews state…..the home desperately needs to be updated but we didn’t spend much time in the house. Mornings and Sunsets on the huge patio could not be beat.

A Bit of Paradise

We absolutely LOVED this property! As other reviewers have said, the location cannot be beat. It's proximity to the ocean is wonderful and made it so convenient; we didn't have to bring everything down to the beach with us because the house was just right there and we could grab what we needed easily! I wanted to also note that it was obvious that past reviews of the property have been paid attention to and many of the complaints addressed. Here is an update on things that have been fixed that have been mentioned in past reviews: - The refrigerator and microwave both look brand new. They are white appliances, but are new and work great. The fridge has a working ice machine and water dispenser. - The oven has not been updated, but does still function well. - There is now a larger coffee pot available for use that can make up to 12 cups, in addition to a smaller one that can only make 5 cups. There were also ample coffee filters for us to use. - There were lots of bath towels & hand towels for our use. Our group of 8 did not run out. However, you will still need to bring your own beach towels as those were not provided. - We thought the beds were actually comfortable, and there was an adequate amount of pillows provided. - Great outdoor shower for rinsing off can be found under the stairs to the back deck. Cons: Need to provide more trash bags, paper towels, better quality toilet paper, hot plate holders, a kettle, & put screens in sliding doors and windows.

Great Location the house could use some updates

This was an extended family vacation for thanksgiving. Pros: - Location is perfect, walking distance to some restaurants and shops, beach view is amazing and the back deck was perfect. - Check in/out was all online and no problems Layout of the house was great for our family and the living room area/kitchen and bedrooms are all very spacious. Cons: - this house is a bit like a Time Capsule to the 90s. The furniture, art, kitchen, appliances, bathrooms. You name it, it needs updates in this house. It did all work but it’s all very dated, banged up and rusted. - Linens: We had 8 people in the house and the 4 bathrooms had a total of 9 towels and no beach towels. Extra pillows but no extra pillow cases for them. We had to go buy some potholders as there were none. They provided 1 kitchen towel. - The biggest con for me and why we wouldn’t return are the beds. They are rock hard, old and all the beds creak & squeak. We dreaded going to bed and were up with the sunrise just to escape them. Thin foam pillows.

Lovely Surroundings

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is right on the beach with a private walkway! We watched the sunrises, ships going by, and surfers. Went for walks on the beach. Some went for runs on the beach and swimming in the ocean. The house was nice and comfortable. Plenty of room and accommodations for our party of nine people. I would want to rent this house again if I should ever come back to the island.

The location of this beach house cannot be beat!

You stay at this home for the location - it cannot be beat. It is right on the beach, within steps. The view is unbelievable, who doesn't want to wake up and be able to see the ocean directly from their bed, and then be able to step through a sliding door and be on the porch watching the sun come up? Unforgettable. The porch is comfortable with a lot of chairs and a great table set at one end. It is in walking distance to restaurants and shops, and close to Uber to downtown Charleston, Sullivan's Island, etc. For all of THESE reasons, I would 100% rent this house again. That being said, I was surprised that there was such a lack of amenities and basics in this home, like I have found in other VRBO's I have rented. What you won't find: Beach chairs / umbrellas / beach towels, etc. Coffee filters Salt / pepper Garbage bags (we were only given 3 for the kitchen for our entire stay). Things like this make a big difference. Also, please provide a larger coffee pot. A 5 cup pot for a house that can house enough people to fill 4 bedrooms is certainly inadequate. In addition, please do some work on this house - the porch and steps in particular. I almost tripped down the steps because a few are actually loose, and one is broken off on one end. Very easy to get splinters - wood or paint. Once of the arms of the porch chairs was broken, and there is literally a hole in the cloth chair in the living room. And as other reviewers have pointed out, the house is very dated and in need of basic upgrades. I could not use the closet in the master bedroom due to the musty moldy smell, and one of the doorwall doors would not open in that bedroom either. The caulk in the bathtub of the 4th bedroom looked mildewed, and the shower curtain did not hang straight. Lastly, on our last day the cleaners arrived at 8:40 AM, well before our checkout time. NOT GOOD and certainly not appreciated. I would for sure rent this house again but hope that the owners will take heed of some of the reviews that point out much of what I am noting here. Communication with VRBO was excellent and very appreciated. Thanks
