The Treehouse at 10th

The Space:
This home includes two treetop decks for outdoor lounging, comfortable luxury beds, high-speed internet, free WiFi, and a private washer/dryer! You'll love kicking back with the family to stream your favorite movies and shows on the home's Roku TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals for your friends and family. When it's time to get in a little sun, the beach is only two blocks away, so be sure to pack extra sunscreen for your trip! (Calling all surfers: there is a good surf break at 10th East!) After a day in the Atlantic, come home to spritz away the sand under the outdoor shower. You can easily rent bicycles, golf carts, surfboards, and paddleboards during your stay and a 10-block bicycle ride will take you to the quaint local shops and restaurants of downtown Folly Beach. Historic downtown Charleston is less than 13 miles north, perfect for an enjoyable day of sightseeing.

Things to know:
* Please note, this house is on a double lot and shares a double driveway with another home.
** Streaming is available using your own account (please note cable is not available)
*** Please keep in mind that Folly is a conservation-minded island and every house is on a septic system. There is an awesome outdoor shower available that helps minimize the impact on the system.

Very clean and well stocked with necessities especially in kitchen and bedroom/bathroom linens. 3 block walk to beach and 1.5 miles to town. Perfect air conditioning so the house was dry and didn’t have a hint of ocean side dampness. Beds were very comfortable. Very quiet part of town.We had a great stay and plan on being back next year.Thank you!

Great area but home not what I expected

The property is much smaller than the pics suggest. The sitting area was barely large enough for our family of four. There wasn’t really an area to hang out and I guess I missed that it didn’t have a dish washer- however, the home has a great location to the beach and we loved the Folly area.

Such a perfect little place with plenty of sleeping space. The couch and living room area was a little tight for four people but everything else was great.

Dirty and dangerous broken step.

We had to leave. We found blood stains and hair on sheets , Filthy carpet, moldy shower curtain. The top step of the outdoor stairs was broken. There was no outside lighting so a fall was waiting to happen. Not what I expect from vrbo.

Terrible

1) Issues with air and plumbing second floor. 2) Trip board on front deck - be mindful. I almost fell. 3) Water bugs in downstairs bedroom. Owner said they posted a note notifying visitors about them on the refrigerator. 4) Transparent brown bugs on kitchen countertop. 5) Found streaming with you tube difficult. 6) Not inviting - no pictures in downstairs bedroom - dead plants in living room. 7) Wide angle lens was used - rental is much smaller than depicted. Forced to leave a night earlier because of bugs. I don't sleep with bugs in the room - sorry.

Stay too Short

First time to Folly Beach…. Didn’t disappoint. Good food, especially Bowen’s Island Restaurant. Island Cove Excursion was fabulous with Captain Chuck, walking was relaxing and of course, sunrise and sunsets were absolutely glorious!

Bulbs burnt out and light fixtures broken/unsecured. Much more dated than the pics. We’re not picky so it was okay enough but the property could certainly benefit from some love. If the owners spent just two hours, they could help the property tremendously .

Very short walk to the beach

This house was located incredibly close to the beach. They have fun Beach toys and stuff (except beach towels). Air conditioning worked which is important. They also supplied shampoo, conditioner and soap which was great. The walk to town is 1.5 miles with plenty to do in the area regarding shopping and food. We enjoyed our stay.

Girls Weekend

We rented the home for a girls' weekend. We didn't realize the upstairs was a loft but it worked for us. The walk to the main street in Folley wasn't bad and gave us an excuse to indulge in a treat from The Coffee Shop.

Affordable little place

Nice location and a great price for Folly. It wasn’t as nice as the pictures made it look but it was fine, nothing fancy but clean and affordable.

Tree House Folly Beach

Super location! Nice that bedrooms are on separate floors so there’s privacy. Outside space is ok- good for staging beach stuff. Didn’t realize no dishwasher until we got there, but just meant we weren’t cooking any big meals there.

Always a good time at the beach

Nice except for a few details. Sofa & chair uncomfortable. Unsafe shower on lower level-no shower mat. Upstairs shower has mold around drain & wrong curtain. No Hulu on tv. Ants on kitchen counter. No chairs on upper deck

This is not a two bedroom as advertised. It has a master bedroom on the 1st fl and lost in the 2nd

Second “bedroom” has no privacy door and is technically part of the open loft upstairs 15 stairs leading up to the front exterior door-this is not advertised and impact some renters Musty odor on interior Not enough basic silverware Overhead vents and ceiling fans need cleaning Downstairs bathroom rug needs cleaning / replacing We had to replace multiple overhead lightbulbs (we found extras in upstairs closet) Dish soap tablets are displayed but no dishwasher exists

Clean, Quiet, and 2 Blocks from Beach

This property was well appointed and clean. There are lots of beds but the living space is rather small, without many places to sit. If you have issue with stairs, there are two flights. The top level is open to the downstairs, which was not a problem for us, but may be a privacy issue for some. The neighborhood is a quiet residential area. The beach access is nearby and about a 2 block walk. The beach is gorgeous!

They rented out a property without heating in winter

When we put the heating on it would make a noise, but nothing happened. We left the building and asked them to repair it when we were out. After a text reassuring them we had the dog, and the heating guy could go in we received a text ten minutes later saying it had been fixed. When we went back that evening it was exactly the same. I don't think anyone had been round at all. We contacted them again and they said he would be round that evening (Friday). We spent our Friday evening waiting in for the guy to fix it. He couldn't fix it said he didn't have the parts and wouldn't have them until Monday. We went out for a long walk Monday and we were looking forward to getting back and relaxing, the second we got in the guy was at the door. We said it wasn't convenient and he got quite belligerent and nasty at us like we were causing a problem to him. He went away and a few minutes later the Vacasa agent phoned us and told us he was fully booked up and that this was his only chance to fix it. The last day of our holiday was ruined along with the Friday night and all the nights without heating (Wednesday to Sunday). They were more concerned with accommodating the heating guy than their guests on the final day of their holiday. We have since been negotiating compensation they said they are refunding 400 dollars. Their pricing system charges a lower rate per night compared to other properties in the area but higher host fees so the total cost looks similar. However, the refund if received will only amount to 1.5 days recompensed. They ruined the first holiday we've had in 4 years, and we had grief from a bolshy maintenance guy. Not a nice way to end your holiday.

Perfect!

My family and I really loved this adorable house in the trees. The charming and simple decor, the canopy of trees around the patios creating privacy and respite from the sun and rain, and The short walk to the beach was all perfect for us! It was a short trip this time but we hope to have a longer stay in this lovely home next time we go to Folly Beach!
