The Space:
Admire a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean from the covered veranda and the incredible rooftop terrace at this home on Folly Beach, where you'll be directly across the road from The Washout - the very best surfing spot in the area.

This cozy home is a place for beach-goers and surfers - you can stroll across the street after a day in the waves, rinse off in the outdoor shower, and leave your swimsuits to spin in the washer/dryer under the house. There's plenty of space to relax and sip cold drinks outside, including the covered front porch overlooking the beach and the breezy upper deck with a swinging day bed, rocking chairs, and a 360-degree view of The Washout and the Morris Island Lighthouse. A small portion of the grassy yard is even fenced for your dog to enjoy safely.

Inside, the air-conditioned living space is comfortable and casual. On one side is a living room with a large flatscreen cable TV and a selection of board games to enjoy; on the other is a full kitchen, a dining room table, and a screened door that leads to the porch out back. Bonus amenities include flatscreen TVs in both bedrooms and high-speed WiFi throughout the house.

Relaxing and cozy!

We enjoyed our stay relaxing on the upper deck, large front porch and ample room in the family room. Everything was quite clean. There were a few things that we noticed that needed to be fixed, but I let the owner know.

Awesome porch across from the beach!

Loved this place. Spent a lot of time on the porch overlooking the beach directly across the street. Small fenced yard was perfect for our dog! We will return!

Improvements were nice, but still a couple of needs

I have booked this property before, and the improvements in outdoor furniture, new tables and lamps, fresh paint, and new bedroom furnishings were great. The view is spectacular. The only reasons it isn't a 5 star: There is not a comfortable chair anywhere in the house! Mid-century lounge type chairs look cool but they are not something you can enjoy. The master bedroom lounge chair is falling to pieces, literally. The new bedroom furniture in the guest bedroom is a nice improvement, but the lower bed is metal framed for a queen size mattress, but the mattress provided is a full size, and too thin to be comfortable for an adult. I was so glad to see the changes made from my last visit, and it would not take much to bring this up to a 5 star standard. As it is, the recent changes were appreciated, and I wish to return, regardless. You just can't beat the spectacular view!

Great location, could be good but wasn’t

Arrived and entered, the pungent smell of mold, mildew, and mold cleaner made us gag. We liked the location and thought we could open windows and air it out, nope! There was black mold on the wall behind the futon and in the bathroom. I got asthma so bad I went to er. The floors were sandy and hairy. Very disappointing. We left on Thursday. Yuck!

Good location, but ..,

Location was awesome. Front porch and roof top deck were wonderful and bathroom downstairs was a nice surprise. House was well stocked but had numerous problems Chairs were broken, screens busted, and electricity iffy with flickering lights and no working outlets. House pics showed twin beds but had a rickety , uncomfortable bunk bed. Floors were slanted.

Pretty much met expectations

Unfortunately ran into beach rejuvenation for 2.5 days. But was perfect for my wife and I as well as our dog to enjoy the feeling of being on the beach. We plan to stay again next year.

AMAZING VIEWS AND AWESOME PORCHES, but....

The views are amazing! We rented it because of the views and the proximity to the beach. We spent the majority of our time on the porches when we weren't on the beach. Comfortably sleeps six if you use the futons. Plenty of bath towel sets were available for use. A/C works well. The W/D work (no detergent included). No issues with kitchen appliances. It is an older house with a few "recent" improvements. When we first walked in, we noticed a fishy smell, but it disappeared after a few hours. The kitchen and living rooms and bedrooms were fairly clean. We found some normal wear/tear items that should be fixed as well as uncommon cleaning tasks that need to be addressed. A few of the silverware needed to be rewashed. Found mold in one of the bedroom cabinets. The oceanside windows were filthy. Would have cleaned them, but couldn't find any window cleaner. Two of the ceiling grates are coming loose. Door to the ocean view porch sticks some and the door knob isn't the easiest to open, but it didn't stop us. One of the wooden steps to the upper deck is starting to loosen up. A wasp nest is starting to form near the steps to the upper deck. We were disappointed about being impacted by the beach renourishment the 2nd half of our stay. Just bad timing. A heads up about it would have been nice. All in all, we really enjoyed the house and our stay. In fact, we planned on reserving the house for next year's Folly trip... until we saw that the price to rent had gone up 60%.

Cozy house

This is our second year staying at this house. Great view of the beach. Only issue we had, could not get into house. Looks like the cleaning company deactivated program lock and manually deadbolted the door. Was on hold with Vacasa for 45 minutes before someone answered the phone. Also tried texting, finally got a response after we finally got into house. Maybe more staff would help. Glad it wasn’t 4 o’clock in the morning and raining. Stay after that was great.

House needs more than just TLC.

The property is in disrepair and is almost unsafe. The owners appear to have no pride in their property. The shade on the top deck is ripped and flapping around. There is rust everywhere. The microwave is disgusting. The porch has a post that is not attached to the deck. There are loose boards. There are rusty nails everywhere. The gate has no latch and there is rusty metal sticking out of the post. The products being used are too strong. None of these items would break the bank. It would however be welcoming to your guests and help them relax and enjoy their reservation.

Mold and Mildew

The best thing about this house is the location and view of the beach, but the house needs a good cleaning, a handyperson and paint! The first thing you notice when walking in is the moldy smell. Heat/AC registers all had black mold on them, walls and doors were filthy, the windows are so old that they are etched and opaque, the refrig is rusty on the inside and outside, there is a bad smell from the sink, etc. Upon getting there, I did send photos of all this to Vacasa and contemplated leaving, but they promised to send someone the next day at 9am to clean. They didn't show up until after noon and by then we were so disgusted that we did it ourselves. We were staying for one month, so I spent our first morning there cleaning so that we knew what was dirty and what was just worn. If you plan to stay with 6 people, someone will need to sleep on the futons in living area, but there are no extra sheets or blankets for them. If this place had been dirt cheap, I would have felt that we got what we paid for, but at this price there are many other nicer places to stay. Keep looking!

Great Place and Beautiful Water Views

This location is great and without being in the center of it all but close enough to downtown Charleston for shopping and night life. Also, close to other beach towns and a short drive to be about to get out and see what this area has to offer. We also enjoyed all of the local seafood and small town shopping. Looking forward to our next visit.

Perfect location

Wonderful location! We enjoyed watching the surfers every day. The home was all that we needed for the couple of days we were there. There was a terribly strong smell of mildew but some of that is expected for a beachfront aged property. The management was all over correcting any shortcomings however we were never able to get into the laundry room.

Great vacation location we love Folly Beach it’s our traditional place.

The frig and floors could have been a little cleaner. We appreciated the dog area it was a big plus. Location is perfect for us. Would have appreciated a traditional sofa for comfort. The top deck was a fabulous spot to watch surfers and dolphins, there was even binoculars for us to use. I would absolutely rent again.

Loved it but had maintenance issues

Toilet seat was loose and floors were filthy could not walk around with socks on had to sweep and wash floors. Location was fantastic!!!!!! But for the money there shouldn’t have been issues
